1 week down
Hey everyone! I had a great week, stayed pretty primal for the most part. Was a little high on fruit last week, this week I'm going to try and keep the carbs lower.
Challenge SW: 164 CW: 161 -3 lbs! As much as it pains me to not look, I'm only weighing myself Tuesdays. This way I'll be able to track results accurately (some suggest only doing it 1/month but that is just too much for me, lol). The best part about this week was that I stopped weighing/measuring/obsessing and it feels wonderful! 3 more weeks to go! |

I had a hard time today, not sure why. Just a bit hard when I've been doing well and happy, generally. I guess that's ok and to be expected.

I have been working to maintain a primal lifestyle.
I am not sure if coconut crystals are on the list of primally approved sweeteners but I am going to attempt to make some primal French Macarons. I have been dreaming about them for quite a while now and I am trying to come up with the perfect sugar free recipe. |

Well, I don't know how perfectly paleo the one's I ate were (they were pre-made but if I remember right the ingredient list was all good) but you can find recipies for them that are. Mainly dry coconut flakes/shreds, coconut oil, and whatever you want to flavor them with... coco powder, fruit bits, or you can just eat them without anything else. There might have been some sugar or honey in the ones I had. But they did have raw coco powder, I know chocolate is not on some people's lists of "good."
There are a lot of recipes you just have to look around for the more pure version. But, just think of them as coconut balls. While I'll admit I have found this challange harder than I thought I would (it is Primal not Paleo so less strict than some) I have been trying and managed to drop below 150, woot! I am 149.. so only a lb less, but I am counting that one pound! hehe.

day 12 yayyyyyyyyyy
I weigh myself today and I really expected to be up. the last few days my weight has bounced around, and yesterday I ate ALOT, half a duck, home made sweet potato frys with home made honey mustard, a bunch of pickles, a bunch of apple chips, some jerkey (they were all home made) a salad with oil and vinegar and tuna, 4 hard boiled eggs, some rasins, some dates, some dried figs, and a pomegranite... Well I was down to 152 today so oh well go figure? for some strange reason I seem to do better either with almost no carbs at all (vlc) or not paying attention to carbs at all..

Hi Everyone! Just a quick post to say I haven't dropped out of site. Just having time issues getting online. Glad to see everyone is doing well! I don't get on the scale until Dec. 1st, so I can't report any good news yet. I've been doing well, (no grains or sugar, which is my main goal). I don't crave those items any longer either, but I do crave fruit when I want something sweet. That's a huge change for me. I NEVER ate fruit before! Not too worried on the scale issue. I'm enjoying what I am eating, so hopefully I've found something I can live with. Isn't that what we are all searching for? Have a great rest of the weekend! Deb

It's been 2 weeks, and I've lost a lb. Yay me! Keeping my stats in ****** helps me a lot. I don't know why I resisted it for so long.

I am cutting my milk down to try and kick the weight loss in better (I need to work out more as well). The first day I had a coconut milk latte my brain was in serious shut-down mode. I'm starting to think its the carbs that wake me up more than the espresso! I had a cow milk latte yesterday and felt fine. Coconut milk again today and am good. I put a tiny bit (maybe 1/2 teaspoon) of raw coconut syrup/sweetner in it so maybe that has something to do with it. Hopefully I adjust to the carb drop fast! I have to teach electronics so I need my brain to work.

Good job everyone!
I know it's nearly then end of the month, end of the challenge, but I wanted to pop in anyway. I'm sure December is not the best month to start a challenge, but at the same time, it's better to try and fail than to not try at all. I've been wishy washy and need to regain balance and direction. And I need to get the artificial sweeteners out of my life once and for all. |

I haven't been perfect, but still pretty good. Since this way of eating has helped me break my long weight loss stall I'm going to keep plugging on for now, not to mention my experiment in trying to back off my autoimmune antibodies. I need a few months of this under my belt before I recheck that.
Here's to a wonderful holiday season with emphasis on lots of things besides just the food, LOL! |
