The Sept 30 day PALEO commitment challenge
Yayyyy we start tomorrow. I will be measuring and posting them tomorrow..

Stevie Renee 08-31-2011 05:37 PM

Good luck Kerry and all.

Will be watching.

DO you know of any success stories from doing this? On line of course:)

Dottie 08-31-2011 05:39 PM

Google "30 day paleo challenge" and there are a lot of bloggers who wrote about their experiences:)

Animord 09-01-2011 02:32 AM

Good Morning Everyone!

Right, for the record I am going to put my weight and my waist measurement - I have all the other stuff but I don't want to clutter up this post with it.

Weight:- 224.75
Waist:- 38.5"

I think the hardest things are going to be giving up my scale and ******. I don't want to record anything because I am determined to go by how I feel - eating when I am hungry and not just because it is a 'meal time'

Good luck everyone!

QueenBacon 09-01-2011 05:14 AM

Ok I weigh 158.4 and 34.7% body fat...
I will do mt physical measurements after work...

sugargirl 09-01-2011 05:53 AM

I drank a little "pre-challenge" alcohol last night so my weight is up to 158.2 (also VERY pms) so I am going to use 153.4 as my starting weight - that's been my average weight for the last few weeks. Waist 34, hips 39, bodyfat - 31.2. Fasting blood sugar has been averaging 96-105 or so - I hope to lower that as well!

Not getting on the scale is going to be REALLY tough for me!

Caty 09-01-2011 06:01 AM

I'm in as soon as I figure out what to do - where can I find the eat and not eat recipe etc web site.

Dottie 09-01-2011 06:09 AM

Hi Caty:)
Google "whole30 paleo menus" for a good idea, there are a lot of bloggers that followed their challenge experiences:)

waist: 29" hips:38.5"
thigh: 26" calf: 16"
upper arm: 11.5"

QueenBacon 09-01-2011 05:27 PM

Where is everyone?

Dottie 09-01-2011 05:33 PM

Here, just busy lol

QueenBacon 09-01-2011 05:50 PM

Well I made soup for dinner, and my sweet peppers are spicy.. Now what to do lol..

rae33 09-01-2011 05:50 PM

Thanks for posting on the other thread- I didnt realize there was a new one!

Today I'm having a very 'challenging' and stressful day with my DH but I am committed to this plan and that has really kept my thoughts focused.

My weight today: 198.6 (TOM is here and I've gained 3 pounds:annoyed:) Haven't eaten enough today because I'm stressed but have definitely stayed paleo.

QueenBacon 09-01-2011 05:53 PM

Any hints on now to tune down spicy?

Dottie 09-01-2011 06:08 PM

Only thing I can think is to add more water or broth?

lynnejava 09-01-2011 07:17 PM

New thread
Thanks for posting the new thread. I didn't know about it either.

Dottie 09-02-2011 04:19 AM

My planned day 2 menu:

B: coffee; hard-boiled egg(or 2)
D: tilapia topped w/parsley, garlic and evoo(baked); cucumber and tomato salad tossed w/bragg’s vinegar
S: hamburger patty topped w/fried egg; green beans

Animord 09-02-2011 04:25 AM

Hi guys! Happy Friday!

did you sort out your spicy problem Kerry? What was it that was too spicy? I know if you have a soup that it too salty it is said that you can add a potato which will absorb the saltiness (cook for a while then throw the potato out) - I don't know if that might work for you?

I had a really hard time last night not having a glass of wine which I was offered - I did stay off it but it was hard!
I did do an hour of Pilates though so am very happy with that - and I signed up for another eight weeks of Pilates lessons - I am really enjoying it.

Food today is:-

Breakfast: Steamed Mackerel, handful of Peacans
Lunch: Smoked Mackerel, assorted salad leaves, some garlic stuffed olives
Dinner: 2 Lamb chops with a pile of steamed leeks.

Have a great day everyone!

QueenBacon 09-02-2011 05:24 AM

I added a little extra chicken broth, omg it came out amazing, ended up being an amazing mistake.
Omg I have the queen of headaches this morning tgif lol
I ned to very off my fast lazy behind and exercise...

Caty 09-02-2011 06:02 AM

Well, I think I did it - breakfast was ground steak & pork with veges - lunch was cup chilli, and dinner I has baked chicken with tomato, green peppers and something else.

I had a few blueberries and a peach

No Wine - hurray My husband worked late so I waited for him and by time he got home I wasn't interested in drinking wine - went and read a book in bed. Felt great and woke up 6AM.

QueenBacon 09-02-2011 09:35 PM

Day 2 down, I gotta day it was a good day

Caty 09-03-2011 05:33 AM

:kicking: Doing great - up early to watch the sunrise over SW Florida, full of energy and ready to go.

This works out so much better for me - not being tempted with cheesecake and other altered foods, fake sugar etc. just because there low carb. Good Veges and fruits and protein. So easy to get off track because it's "low carb."

QueenBacon 09-03-2011 05:59 AM

I know everyone has their vice, thats why im making this post.
See me I could give up the fruit, nuts, cheese... I'm really not sure if I could give up coffee lololol.....
But not weighing could kill me I feel. its so funny. I love to weigh every day to keep me accountable, and to see how i did with the previous days food.. Its killing me to give up weighing, and I could give up anything else so easily (besides coffee lol)
Anyone else strugging?

QueenBacon 09-03-2011 06:50 AM

I have my bodybugg charging right now.. Today I plan on getting off my butt and exercising.. I may do callanetics, or zumba video game.. HMMMM
I really want to skip breakfast today also and maybe just have a huge coffee.. I guess that means I should prob make some coffee lolol
Where is everyoneeeeeeeee still sleeping?

Dottie 09-03-2011 07:06 AM

Good morning!
I slept great lol. Going to get in a workout on the total gym after my coffee.
B: coffee
D: I have some grass-fed ground beef thawing, may do a stir fry or just patties, and veggies
S: chicken wings; salad

Catmandu 09-03-2011 10:51 AM

Still here. Doing fine, love not being tempted by my kids' carby snacks. Not sure how I'll fare this weekend, with the constant temptation of wine, coupled with the stress of being with the in-laws and our family in an RV. If I don't do some explaining as to my 'new diet' I'm sure they'll figure I'm pregnant, lol (I'm not one to turn down wine).

I'm new to low-carb, so I think I'm losing some water, which is a good thing, I was feeling really waterlogged around my ankles.

Hope everyone has a relaxing weekend.

QueenBacon 09-03-2011 11:04 AM

Just finished an hour of callanetics yay

QueenBacon 09-03-2011 01:01 PM

I will be on my way to trader joes soon yay

rae33 09-03-2011 05:18 PM

Hey everybody- still here and still keeping it paleo! I am feeling great. The food part seems so simple to me, fewer choices makes it easy for me. I feel satisfied and nourished- no cravings at all other than perhaps the HWC in the coffee but not strong enough to even really consider it- sticking to iced tea and iced coffee.

Now I want to start focusing on the exercise part of the equation- have slacked off from the gym the last month or so. Every things a bit crazy this (long) weekend but my son goes back to school Tuesday so no excuses. Glad everyone's doing well!
