Not normally. I hear it has many benefits such as getting the body to repair things that it might otherwise plan to just replace. But I have reservations about going too long without good, complete protein intake.

I've read a lot about it on mark's daily apple. I don't know if I really want to do that. I'd much rather eat when I'm hungry. Sometimes I skip meals because I'm not hungry, but I don't think that's fasting. Anyway, I have heard good things about it. Let us know how you do, Kerry!!

I responded to you in another post, Kerry, but I will do it here, as well.
Through intermittent fasting, I have lost approximately 10 pounds in less than a month. Sure, it is some water weight, but what I REALLY like is that I am also a weightlifter and my lifts AND body measurements (the good ones, not my waist, lol) have increased. In other words, I am gaining muscle and losing fat, which is VERY difficult to do at the same time. Obviously, I also watch my macronutrient intake and choose to go paleo (which I have been doing since May). I don't eat anything processed and keep my carbs fairly low. I usually fast for 16 hours, from 8:30pm until 12:30pm the next day. It is not difficult, and this is coming from a former BIG eater. You get used to it. I feel energized. I have IBS and the symptoms are so much less than what they used to be. It's no cure all, but it works for some people. I am one of those, I guess. For anyone who prefers to eat all of their meals in a relatively small window of time (and doesn't care much for breakfast in the morning), this may be the way to go for you. |

Yes and no. Not intentional structured IF, but I tend to only eat twice a day, usually 15-16 hours between last meal and first meal the next day.
