Question about Paleo.
I have now changed over to simply eating Paleo. I am in this for health reason, therefore I figure it is the best way to go. I have done Zone, CKD, etc...all with good results but am looking for easy to follow, long lasting success (i.e. Paleo).
I have a question though. It seems with everything I have read Paleo is considered low carb. However I don't feel I am eating low carb. My eating looks like this: Carbs.-50%, Protein-35%, Fat-15% on an 1800 calorie a day eating plan. As well I do intense exercise 5-8 times weekly. First, is this an awkward split? Second, I am finding I am eating a lot of oatmeal (more for lack of not wanting to eat to much fruit because I have a good bit of fat to lose, and because I can't think of many other carbs. besides veggies, which I eat a lot of). Is eating oatmeal considered Paleo or not Paleo? For instance today I had 114 grams of carbs. in oatmeal (the no sugar, no added flavour kind). Bad? Also with the 50/35/15 split, if this isn't optimal what would be a better split? Thanks very much everyone. Sorry for the long question I posted. |

no grains on paleo. you can go to paleodiet or thepaleodiet or read loren cordain's book (library). it is pretty simple; meat/seafood, vegies, limited fruit, nuts, (not legumes) certain oils. that's what makes it lower carb...the elimination or starches, grains, sugar.
