Congratulations to all the losers! And super ((((((((((((((( positive vibes))))))))))))))))))))) for the ones who struggled, this month WILL be better!!!

I met my goal for the first time in over 8 months so I am over the moon! I lost 5.2 pounds in April, and a total of 7.8 pounds since I started 4:3, 5 1/2 weeks ago.

April - lost 7lbs

Week 1
5/1 Thu 177.0

I read that eating more protein during weight loss and cutting back on fats and carbs is more ideal so I bought some vanilla whey protein powder and substituted the apple juice and sunflower butter for it in my smoothie to reduced overall calories in the process. Noticed I'm also usually low on fiber and read that flax seeds are high in fiber so will buy that and put it in the smoothie too.

Hope you all reach your goals this month!

A lot of you's have done well in april... good job,let's keep at it in May...nicer weather is around the corner...going to be more active

Wukong....i make cookies with my protein powder...4 ingredient cookies...peanut butter,protein powder,oatmeal and dark chocolate chips...very good..as for flax seeds you could put them in these cookies...or you can have them with oatmeal or peanut butter with toast every morning,that's my breakfast most morning


I'm a Lifetime member with Weight Watchers as of last night...lost a total of 17.6 ...got to keep it up......

Well the guys at work on a whim decided to buy me chocolate and take me for lunch yesterday which is UBER sweet but certainly screwed with my Friday weigh in. Hoping to have a lowish day today to make up for a couple of days, .5 gain this week so not a great start, but good motivation.

Erika - You had a fabulous month, hope it keeps rolling.

Congrats again to everyone who had a great month and for those who struggled like I did, I know this one is going to be a great one for the books.

I had a higher calorie day yesterday and the scale was up a little...but I'm sure feeling thinner today...Hubby and I will be gone all weekend so no scale....Hopefully I'll be able to get lots of walking in.

April - lost 7lbs

Week 1
5/1 Thu 177.0, 5/2 Fri 177.0 1319 cal.

No weight change but feeling better and stomach seems to be shrinking, visceral fat dropped from 9 to 8, virtual age dropped from 55 to 54, fat % about 22 and muscle % at 35. I noticed I was cramming 85% of my calories into a 7 hour time frame and eating the bulk at one sitting so am now eating small portions throughout the day with the theory that'll it'll help shrink the gut faster.

Mommygates, nice overall loss - congrats and keep it up! The cookies sound very healthy and tasty. What are the measurements as I may attempt to make them? Didn't know you could buy dark chocolate chips, are they 72% or better? I'll use sunflower butter, and, flaxseed sounds like a good idea for added fiber. Would that substitute for part of the oatmeal to lower the calories?

Taking the weight off when it may take a week to lose a pound seems excruciatingly slow and the body doesn't seem to change much but it took much longer to put on all so be patient. The weight comes off from the face, arms, legs, belly, all over so it's not too noticeable but if you're consistently losing you'll eventually see it. Having something that measures your % of fat, muscle or using a tape measure helps to see if you're making progress. If you don't own a scale that gives these percentages I highly recommend the investment as not only will it give you more info to hopefully show you progress, it'll also show you if your body is consuming muscle or fat as you lose weight.

Wukong..here the receipe for those cookies...2 ripe bananas,1/2 cup dark chocolate chips (mine are only 52% from cosco),1 cup of quick oats(good fiber also) and 1 heaping spoonful of peanut butter could put in 1 tsp of flax seed...Heat oven at 350,mix all ingredients together in a large bowl.It should have a no bake cookie consistency.Mold batter into 15 balls.Bake for 15 minute(for me it's 13 minute or they burn).Keep in refrigerator for storage....they are the perfect snack for energy and only 1 pts in W.W.

As for the scale,i do have the same one...like to keep track of body fat, muscle mass,water retention and bone density..nice gadget..

That's more like it! Had to cut calories or exercise more so opted cutting calories as I didn't think I'd exercise more than the little I do. Also, since I dropped 7lbs I didn't need as many calories so wasn't losing.

Mommygates thanks for checking, maybe there is a label on the bottom of it?

So after doing some reading this weekend I thought I would try uping some fat on my fasting days. This really bumps up my caloric intake but food wise I am still eating only a minimal amount of calories. Give it a shot for a week and see how it goes.
Really didn't have a horrifying weekend in terms of calories (about 1600cal both Friday and Saturday) but still 4lbs up.. My carbs and wine consumption were through the roof tho.. Maybe thats the issue. I had said this weekend I wasn't going to drink again until we hit Vegas soil June 16th.. We'll see how that goes!!

o.k. it's enough..lower my calories or up my exercise...know exactly what you're saying Wukong and like you i rather cut on my calories...

As for my scale it's a TAYLOR..don't know if that helps but that's all i've got...
