Kay, That's wonderful ! Do you eat any special time? Each day is different for me, depending on what I am doing. So far a big breakfast works during the work week. I wonder if I'm cutting myself short on food, though?

we get home late during weekdays due to the work commute so Dinner is typically around 6:30-7pm. Hour or two earlier on weekends. My meals are pretty basic since i am still following Atkins Induction Food List in addition to trying to learn portion control but typically i am full by the end of each meal.

Also recently incorporated in doing 48 hour no food fasts every couple of weeks from Sat Evening to Mon Evening (still have decaf with HWC and Davinci SF Syrup).

Kay, I have never done anything but 24 hr. fast. Can't imagine going 48 hrs.
is there a reason you go that long? I would think that it would be really
good for your body.
Lost another pound this morning, I was surprised as I know this won't continue.

Well, I had a huge breakfast and am stuffed. The thought of food is nauseating. Just what I planned! The day I lost the most was when I ate at Chinese buffet and felt like this after pigging out. No desire for food the rest of the day. That was at lunch time this is breakfast. Hopefully it will be the same results!

you run, too, right? that sets you up to be able to eat more. i walk 4 times a week, 45 min. at a shot. if i ate what you ate, i'd gain weight. but i'm not about to run. i don't have the joints for it.

Running doesn't make a difference. I ate low fat and gained running the same amount.

Cali, I wonder if the weekends jump start things for you. So you have two meals on the weekend and 1 meal a day during the week?

Yes, I think your right. I eat a lot more carbs on the weekend.
More like I'm carb cycling.
And I allow myself 2 meals on the weekend. I like to make the weekend
special and have something to look forward to. I also have coffee w/ cream
and sweetener on the weekend and have it black during the week. I want
to totally fast during the week.

Hi everyone,
I had a great weekend. I did gain 1 pound on the scale this morning.
I'm ok with that because I do eat a lot on the weekends. I am hoping I'll lose
That and more this week.

I really like eating once a day although some days are easier than others.
I like that I don't have to count calories. I just can't do that.
Well I will see how my 2nd week goes.

I have been thinking of trying this,, it worked for me years ago. I am diabetic and my weight is out of control. I am not really hungry until about 2 pm and then I am thinking of drinking a low carb shake............if I can eat what i want I can do one meal.

Dede,
You should give it a try. It is the way I ate all my life and was very thin.
Then as I got older I just started eating all the time. The weight really
Sneaks up on you,

I did very low carb, it did work but I wasn't happy and kept gaining and
losing because I got frustrated that I could not have what I want
everyday. Don't even get me started about going out for dinner and
not being able to eat what I want.

I need to enjoy my meal and not be worried about calories!

On the weekends I eat 2 meals usually lunch and dinner.
I love my weekends! I am not strict with myself so if I gain some
It's ok, I just do the best I can.

Oriana,
I don't count calories at all. I don't worry about them, I figure some
days I eat more than others and it will work out. I can't always remember
everything I eat on the weekends, it's easier during the week because
I only eat the one meal.

Steak & Eggs Once a Day

I discovered this blog yesterday: The Ultimate Steak and Eggs Diet for Rapid Fat Loss | A Call to Action This guy combines intermittent fasting with the Atkins low carb foods steak and eggs. He says it is very effective. It sounds like it would be something interesting to try, I know when I eat ribeye I am full for hours anyways so I doubt I would be starving using this method!

I tried the steak and eggs diet. I had ribeye with 2 fried eggs on top.
My DH thought I was nuts. It's very good had that for 2 meals a day.
I just could not eat the same thing over and over. I lasted about 4 days.

If you can do it you should. It's very filling and you do lose.

I do best on losing weight I think when I stop eating earlier in the day such as 5pm. I think this diet would work but you would have to eat earlier that that, possibly lunchtime or 1 to 2pm. Much later you would be running on fumes!!!

Cristress,
I eat at 5 pm every day, I don't like to eat later.

The no beer rule in the steak and eggs diet is just not going to happen!

Today I ate at 2pm I was starving by then. Not hungry now at all and it is about 5pm. I'm not sure what the magic eating number should be for those eating only one meal a day. I used to do this years ago when I was younger just because I didn't seem to have time to do bfast and lunch so I would eat a ton for dinner. I think that way doesn't help much for weight loss because it is closer to bedtime and there isn't much activity after that to burn cals.

Cistress, how many calories do you eat and what did you eat today? If you ate enough you should not have to eat again. If I ate enough even at 11 a.m. I was full until 9 p.m. and just went to bed.

Well, I am not sure about the ounces of the steak. It was top sirloin, about 12 oz? It was a good size piece of meat! The eggs were 160c with a pat of butter..so another 100c. Then I made a small cream sauce with heavy cream and some dry spices. I think my meal was about around the 800c to 1000c range. I meant to weigh my steak before grilling it but I forgot.
