Welcome MiggsI just started WW yesterday and I'm trying the simple start plan but I'm not sure if I'll do it for 2 weeks like they suggest.I think I'm eating too many calories.I'll see how it goes.
One thing I know for sure is that I'm going to stay on WW until I get this weight off! No more giving up and starting something different.I don't care if it takes me a year!
How's everyone else doing?

Weigh in today, down 1.2, so that averages to 1 pound per week (4# loss). I have found that whether I am doing simply filling or counting points, by eating mostly power foods, I come out about the same. I believe that the power foods are more filing and have more staying power. The best thing for me is that I have not felt deprived and am still losing. No, I didn't lose the 5-10 that some do by eating low carb, but I didn't lose like that while doing low carb anyway. So ww is livable for me. I have 7 more pounds to go before I can reclaim free lifetime status.
Welcome newbies!

that's great Rotay! A loss is a loss and you are soo close - be proud of yourself, it's very easy to get sloppy when it's dangling out there.

I may have to check out simply filling -I haven't looked it over but I think I need more structure - I can't trust myself yet.

Harley! I agree - we need to stick to it in matter how long it takes. Think of how great we'll feel in a month when we've slashed 5 more pounds instead of gaining.

Why go walking every morning no matter rain or shine?

Why pop all those smelly supplements that make you gag every time?

Why slave in the kitchen making fine cuisine when you could easily buy a bucket of fried chicken supreme?

Why read all those labels and scrutinize those jars when you could simply “drive-thru” and buy food in your car?

Why banish the bread and forego the cake When they smell simply divineas they bake, bake, bake?

Why drink gallons of water? til you float away When coca-cola and sprite Are plenty o.k.?

Why lift heavy weights, count carbs and calculate when you could lift mugs of beer and eat cookies by the plate?

Why do all these things why bother, why try?

The answer my dear is really quite clear

Yes Harley stick wtih the plan, that is what I done and finally after 9 years 2 weeks I met my LifeTime goal. I use to get so frusturated .02 down .05 up I stayed with it and finally got serious about WW and stopped playing around with it when I did I had a constant loss weekly. You can do this!!

Now to practice what I preach! I didn't weigh today -some things better left undone . I did pass up a Shamrock shake so there was cause for a little celebration but I ate too late and I think I ate a little too much. Neglected to weigh my chicken and kinda taste tested the other stuff! I don't even know why - it just happened!

On a positive, I packed my lunch and planned my meals for today. Have tickets to see Les Miserable tonight so we will be at the theater - and not the kind where one eats popcorn - thank goodness! my fav!

I'm finding myself falling into old ww habits , like getting sloppy with my portions and eating the same things over and over - I have to remember this is lifestyle and I need to learn how to exist in a food filled world. It amazes me at how many terrible choices there are everywhere I go. I have to remind myself why this is so important and why I want this!

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Today you are you and that's truer than true, there is no one alive that is youer than you.

You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes, you can steer yourself in any direction your choose.

Will you succeed? Yes! you will, indeed! (98 and 3/4 percent guaranteed!)

We are all a little weird and life's a little weird and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love!!!!

Yes Harley I did the 2 week Simple Start then I went back to tracking my points. I am old too that's why I quit playing around and not sticking to the plan as it was meant to be. It was like I say now "if you stick to the plan it works" It took me that many years to stick to it. I thought I could do it my way not WW way and it would work, well it didn't. The real kicker was when I multiplied the number of months by the number or years I have been going paying my monthly fees and WOW I really wanted to get to goal at that point and not only that but to be healthier. You are going to get th ere much sooner than I did Harley!!! I know you will!

I've been tracking my points today just to see what I need to do after the Simple Start because I keep going over the 7 extra points If nothing else i am seeing how much I over eat I went on the restaurant list and 1 fast food meal can blow a whole day and then some! No wonder we are an obese nation!
Rose, did you weigh today? How did you do? I'm looking forward to Monday

Good Morning Peeps! Welcome to the weekend. . My goal for today is to "just do it". . I have no choice. . I felt pretty yucky last night at the play.. I was a little out of control for some reason. . but. . woke up today. did 33.11 minutes (every little bit counts) minutes on my treadmill and ate a WW approved breakfast. . After I get some work done today, I plan to look up some new and exciting recipes so I can plan the week out. (O and skipping the all you can eat . pancake supper today!).. Yay me. .

Anyone have a tried and true one they'd like to share? I love, love, love using my slow cooker and I love to do casseroles.. My kids, however, beg to differ!!

Have a great day, fellow losers. . We can do this!

considering I went to the grocery store right after I went to the grocery store (Yes. twice). . and spent $300.00 on just "clean" food. . No processed junk.. I should be armed and ready to go. .

I made Vegetable Barley Soup yesterday in my slow cooker and I have Ham and Potatoes going in the other slow cooker for today.. . I have to figure the points for those. . used Fat Free Cream of chicken soup . .hoping it wont be too salty . but it definitely smelled yummy this morning!

My weekend should have been better.. I weighed today and was up one! but I know why and I plan to fix it!!

Happy Monday, Gals! Let's make today count. . park a little farther away, take the stairs, take the dog for an extra walk.. or better yet.. turn up that radio and dance around the kitchen!!

Up at 3 this morning - not sure if that's good or bad, yet! I'll let you know in about 8 hours or so.

Today's plan, move more, eat less, track more, drink more, take my vitamins and smile - no matter how fat I feel. It's all about being positive! I am hoping something awesome jumps out of my closet today.

Hey everyone! I am a former Atkins girl who just started doing WW a couple of days ago.

Long story short , I lost a lot of weight on Atkins and it found me again. Honestly, it started coming back on when I was still following plan. I wasn't even cheating. I was doing maintenance. So I tried other diets and the weight still crept back on over a course of a few years.

My thought are that I might have needed to count calories as well as carbs. I can do ONE thing. If I a depriving myself of carbs and cutting calories, I can't stick to that.

I am using info I found online for free. I have not joined ww and paid dues. I have chosen the old points system. Since I have started, I learned something. My points level is very little food. I am doing 23 points a day. Still learning about foods and points value, but catching on quick.

I am also starting to exercise again. I have gone walking and bike riding.

So hello to all and have a great day.

Hi Lady! let me know if I can help with anything. .I am a lifetimer. . whose weight has found her again! I did Atkins. .I did Stillmans. . I did the no carb thing. . I did Jenny Craig. . and I've lived on liquids for months and months. . but Weight Watchers is pretty much tried and true and it helps when you don't have to cut out complete food groups. . or food, for that matter!!!

the reason your points seem low is because Weight Watchers has adopted the zero point fruit and veggie policy (I Love it!!!). . The concept behind it is none of us are here for overeating fruits and veggies. . they have great health benefits, they can be filling and satisfying and when we reach for fruit/veggies. . we are not reaching for other stuff!!! I, personally, eat veggies, of some sort, at every meal and it does help. You will find what works for you over time. If you are have an extremely slow week and not losing, you may want to cut back on the fruit, first. . (it does have all those wonderful natural sugars!!). .

I've also found that if you eat "something" every few hours. . your blood sugars remain stable and you are less like to overeat. . Just my two cents. . (and yes. . i still have to learn to listen to myself! ). . .I always have great intentions!
