Just posting a quick update.

This week was my 1st Atkinsversary and I celebrated by getting myself some new smaller clothes; new pants, new belt, new shirts, new swim trunks! Some people may call this spoiling myself, I call it added motivation and incentive to keep going and achieve even more success. This past year I have lost 57.6lbs. Now I was not "good" with my eating the entire year, had I been who knows how much I would have dropped, but 57.6lbs gone... that's impressive too. If anyone is familiar with Ntombi, she took the time to post an equivalent list of weight loss and 57.6lbs is the equivalent of losing a small bale of hay + the weight of an average newborn baby.

This week I lost 2.8lbs... a good start for April. Once the warmer weather stays for more than one day, I'll try to pick up my cardio regimen again for even more weight loss.

Stay well, and stay motivated people! Cheers!

Just got to the office and realized that I forgot my two beautiful hard boiled eggs I left on the stove to keep warm! I now realize that I should have a back up at the office Fortunately, I have some celery & peanut butter in the frig here at work... My lunch consist of chicken and lettuce.. Will try to drink plenty of water today and keep busy

Good morning everyone, Fayes3 I hate peeling the hard boiled eggs... Seems the eggs lately are so hard to peel. How do you cook them? I bought an egg cooker thing. You just crack the egg pour into and screw the lid, cook them in water. Only thing I worry about now is the plastic. Looked like a good idea...

Question for the Wine Drinkers

I recently went (before my Atkinsversary) to a get-together and had a few glasses of wine. I was very pleased to see that it did not affect the scale in fact I still lost weight that week.

Now I'm not a regular wine drinker and I do not want to use this as an excuse to, BUT I am curious... how often can one incorporate wine/other alcoholic beverages on a low carb WOE? How often do you have a glass of wine?

Thanks in advance.

Jblanken,

I place eggs in a sauce pan of water. .When the water starts to boil , I remove the pan from the heat/ Place the lid on and let it sit 10 mins... The eggs come out perfect. I peel under running water!

Newest Atkins Fan,

I usually have one drink (Vodka & Crystal lite) before dinner and I don't believe it has affected my weight loss...

How do you place the Quote in your reply?

Fayes3 - If I understand your question correctly, you have to use the quote button on the bottom right of message you want to quote from. I believe if you hover it says reply with quote... type... then submit reply on the bottom

Thanks, lilbeetle. Like I said, was just curious about how often most people incorporated it in their meal plans/diet.

Would you consider this a Fat Fast (FF)?

So, for the past 4 days, I've had this low carb no-bake cheesecake and on some days it is the only "food" I have eaten during the day; the only other thing i've consumed is Bullet Proof Coffee. Would this be considered a "fat fast" that I've seen mentioned from time to time on this site?

I apologize in advance if I sound naive or am asking a "dumb" question.

The traditional FF is defined as 1000 calories per day, 75-90% fat. So yes my friend you be Fat Fasting. Can't wait to see what your loss [subtract] to

Thanks, Terri! I thought to myself "this must be a fat fast; I see why so many people like it!"

HOWEVER, my results aren't that impressive this week.

To make a long story short I lost 2lbs this week. That's not bad, but my weight fluctuated a lot this week, due to bad eating choices earlier during the week; i.e. I went to fast food restaurants and ate not only the turkey meat on the sandwich, but the bun and small fries as well. Hence, I gained ( I weigh Wednesdays. and Saturdays), and for the last 3 days I've been going "hardcore on M&E" to redeem myself and not make the week a total wash.

Why am I tattle-tale-ing on myself you ask?
Because, I want to be proof that yes, you can mess up/fall off the wagon, but if you "see the error of your ways" and get right back on it and do what you know you should be doing, you can redeem yourself. So many times, people fall into old habits and just "wash their hands" of the diet/their LC way of eating entirely. Don't Do That! Each meal can be a new start; not that we want it to be like that, but you get the idea.

A year ago I was 57lbs heavier than I am now.
In one year, I've lost 5 1/2 inches off my waist, and had to replace 1/2 of my current wardrobe. I owe all of that to LC, the support and motivation I've gotten here on lowcarbfriends, my M&E family, and my own Will-Power. Granted, I wish my Will-Power was more "stay the course" sometimes; but I am seeing results, and I plan to continue!

Thanks for letting me vent and share this morning.

Cheers!

Good to hear! I can't remember a time I was ever hungry on M&E/Atkins either to be honest. A far cry from my before low carb eating ways days.

stAF, dont worry about it. Now I am basically maintaining, I eat fries when DH and I go out on a date meal A year ago I wouldnt have done it. Still wont eat bread though, but that has more to do with the resulting gut ache and the fact it doesnt taste nice to me anymore.

Been Meat and Egging this weekend since my wee man is away and its just us grown ups. Im basically a lazy cook, and this WOE means I can just pretend we are fasting.....

Im going to make that cheesecake mousse thingy tho, nom nom. And I get surprised when I feel hungry now. It does happen on occasion now I IF during the week, but not often.

I linked the winter thread for someone because it had the M&E rules and also our pickle discussion. I was thinking, when we start a new thread, that we dont just put a link on the old thread to the new one, but also put a link back from the new, to the old. Makes it easier to follow the flow. Just a thought.

Happy eating, everyone.

No worries, Fayes3. It never hurts to "live a little" in moderation with a LC lifestyle. Just make sure the one cookie doesn't turn into the entire jar. And talk about motivation... when you reach your goal you get to indulge in a cookie!

Well today I found out I have A-Fib so I'm having a little pity party, still low carb but having some sugar alcohols...
This week I've had 3 doctor's appointments(hate these) and one tomorrow(hate taking off work)...and
I may have to take medication(I don't want to)...

Since the first of April though I will share
first thing in AM - coffee with HWC
breakfast if I'm hungry at 10ish - a few pieces of bacon or small sausage patties up to 6)
lunch 2 eggs, mayo - make into an egg salad (eat leftover meat above) or fish with mayo
dinner - steak, hamburger
after dinner coffee with HWC
I've been trying to stay away from sugar alcohols so for a treat
at night I have a cup of <1gr almond milk and mix this with Walden Farms chocolate syrup.

I do some exercise, walk at work and I always run up stairs. Plenty of yard work to do during the spring which I have been doing.
