quick post, busy day since off tomorrow. I so appreciate you all sharing even more details about your personal lives. I too struggle with an 'addictive' personality so I've always kept drinking to a minimum of usually doing it when I go out, or maybe a glass here or there if I have any at home. I think it's helped that at one point or another on any eating plan, it usually calls for no sugar and that's saved me because I don't like beer and wine is a take or leave for me. I like fruity drinks But, but I give in to my addiction with food which is why it's such a yo-yo thing, and yes, I can certainly relate to the padding thing. Yesterday was a DD but the scale went up a couple ounces ...I believe it's because I ate late again. Today is an UD, I've recorded my weight because I've decided to try JUDDD as written again. I'm not going to eat only LC...it's just too hard to be that restrictive, at least now in the beginning. Part of the reward for DD is knowing I can eat whatever I want the next day...but I'm not going crazy with it either because I understand what's best for my body (whole food). So I'm going to try...try, to not weigh until next Friday or Saturday (I believe it'll be a DD) to see where I'm at then due to adding carbs back in again so some weight gain until my body adjusts is gonna happen, no need to stare it daily on the scale until then

I said quick post but typed a book anyway LOL so...

Gracie~safe travels and enjoy!
Julie~glad you're feeling better...hope it continues. Happy Anniversary!!
Jen~ glad you had that talk with hubby and an agreement/understanding came from it. You're awesome through it all!
Pati~fun, fun plans! Such a small gain from an UD...congrats!

Pati-I am thankful that you shared that. I was in that place too when DH and I started dating. I was showing up to work after not sleeping...hung over and falling asleep at my desk. I even wrecked my car...Thank goodness no one got hurt, but I was drunk. I messed up my car and thought it would be a good idea to go pick up my children and drive them home in my condition. Thank goodness for my mother who said enoughs enough...you have children and pull your **** together. I think the only thing that slowed me down and got me back on course was my darling 4 year old Rory. He saved me I don't ever want to go back to that dark place...could be why I turned to food again.

This is such a good place to share and learn from everyone. Deb and Pati thanks for sharing I really needed to hear about the challenges and the danger that lies ahead when I drink. It is really good to remember and bring it back into perspective. I don't ever want to be there again.

Just finished my large coffee and feeling a little rumbly, but on a scale of 1-10 (10 being I have to eat or I will faint) I am at a 3 or a 4. So, I'll charge on and busy myself with things. I won't be on until after I eat this evening because of food porn lol
I also try to stay away from the television. too much food porn
I am obviously addicted also..

Jen, enjoy your day with the kiddos.. and don't get tooooooooo hungry!

Shari, I think doing it by the book is a great idea at least to start. He does say only to weigh in around every 8 or 9 days after a DD. I know you will do great!!

You are also right in that looking forward to the UP DAY is what gets most through the DD. So opening up your food choices should help.. (notice I can't seem to make it work for ME.. ) I do know it can be done though!! Look at all the success stories!! I LOVE reading them!

Have a fun safe holiday Shari!..

Hi girls! Quick post I promise...

I had an awesome dd considering my brother ate what I wanted to eat for dinner. DH came to the rescue and heated an Atkin's meal for me that I usually like, but today I told him it tasted like crap and decided to do a ceasar salad. I can afford the calories and feeling very satisfied. It's raining here in July and cooled off the evening. In TX that is unusual so I'm really enjoying to stormy weather tonight. Watching Bridesmaids with my hubby enjoying my glass of wine. Love you all. Have a happy fourth. I'm so glad it's an ud because I'm gonna eat some MEAT

Happy 4th ladies!!

Jen - Sounds like you had a great down day. I bet the scale will be super nice to you!

Shari - Your scale will prove to you that you don't have to restrict carbs. I try. I can't. Especially not on down days. I eat whatever works for me on the day and then on up days I eat as healthy as I can but that sure doesn't stop me from eating just about anything (IF I AM CRAVING IT!). Oddly enough, it seems what I crave is fats, meats, and fruits? lol Are you doing two up days in a row being that today is the 4th or do your plans allow you to stay on track? (I'm always afraid of throwing off things....rotations being one of them but I think as long as you are strict in getting back on rotation, you should be good).

Jan - Hope you're feeling awesome!

Deb, Gracie, Julie!

Hope you are all getting ready for a fun filled relaxing day. I think I am going to lay back down (I was up early today and went to bed at 1 AM last night! *yawn*). I probably won't sleep but I'll catch a movie or two and some snuggles with the DD

Yesterday's down day was TOUGH!! Probably one of the worse days hunger wise I've had since starting. No clue why...I did it tho. I stayed strong knowing the foods I'd be able to eat and AM going to eat today...(SOOOOOO looking forward to a mama burger ) Anyway, here are my #s today:

Here we go for July:
June #s (started 199. Goal 190. Last weigh in of the month was 190.5)
July goal is 185

7/1 ~ 193 (down day & much needed! Look at the jump in scale! YIKES!)
7/2 ~ 190 (up day today)
7/3 ~ 191 (down day today)
7/4 ~ 189.5 (up day today) <-- GIRLS LOOK AT THIS!!! I am beyond stoked!!! Was suffering yesterday worth it? YOU BETCHA! Besides I get to eat today

Well my loves, I hope you all enjoy and be safe today!!! LOTS O' LOVE!!!!!

Happy Fourth Ladies!!!

So, I made it through my DD. It was the easiest DD I have had yet

Pati-So sorry to hear about the bad DD. But boy oh boy did the scale show you some major love! I'm so happy for you. Have a great UD...I know I will. I'm going to eat light until the MEAT is ready...ribs, sausage, burgers

Shari-Thanks for sharing as well...so easy to share intimate things with this group.

Jan, Gracie, and Julie-Hello and Hope y'all are having a great day with your families

I weighed this morning and was up a pound...so weird as my calories were lower than ever. Perhaps I will skip my glass of wine all together on DDs and see if that helps. I do easily bloat. Plus had very little water yesterday.

Pati~ congratulations on entering new, lower decade...and it's still the beginning of the month. No doubt, you'll surpass your mini-goal for this month. Enjoy your UD and weekend!

Jen~congrats to you on holding strong yesterday. Glad it's easier for you too, and enjoy today's UD!

Deb~yes, it's definitely a nice day to just relax and BE in the moment.

Jan~wishing you a great holiday today too. Glad your electricity is back on...hope you have a great, relaxing weekend

Yesterday's UD was great! No restrictions and yet I still came in 1500 cals, carbs were pretty high, 166, but I'm going to relax on that as much as I can...LOL. No scale for sure for a few days Pati today I'm going to make it a MD, no more than 1000 cals, and make tomorrow my regular rotation of an UD again. I'd love to be on the same rotation as you and Jen soon...

Yes, it is easy to share in this group. I was up a couple ounces too from my DD, probably water shifting in the cells so no worries. Enjoy your UD!!

Thanks Deb...

You know what? I try to stick to anything under 500 cals (food wise). I say that because of my coffees (which I refuse to give up). My cup (it's a plastic black cup which I think holds at least 10 oz?) I fill with coffee and generous amount of ff h&h and sugar free creamer. I'm sure two of those brings the cals way up!! So my food has to stay under 500. Most times I'd say I'm 400 Yesterday was hard cuz I ate foods I didn't really enjoy! I didn't feel like shopping so I ate what I had (muffin with deli meat - SO NOT GOOD! LOL)

Today is an up day for me too but I don't plan on giving one care in the world about what goes in my pie hole LOL

ENJOY!!! YOU SOOOO NEED IT AFTER ALL THE TIME AND SWEAT YOU HAVE PUT IN YOUR WORK LATELY!!!

Look at you rocking it and enjoying yourself...

Try to not over stress about the carbs. I know I know, it's instilled in us from our Atkins days (and probably to some degree even when we did hcg?) - but just go with it (with a watchful eye of course )

It's hard I know. I made bacon for breakfast today. I wasn't going to eat anything else but the cornbread in the kitchen SCREAMED "PATI EAT ME" Automatically, I thought O.M.G. CARBS! NOOOOOOOOOOOO...LOL I ate a small piece tho and I am truly satisfied.... And no guilt :P

Enjoy your day with family!!!!

Yes! I soooo love futbol! I will be cheering for Columbia...but Brasil will win...I love cheering for the underdog. How about our team USA. We really did well. I was heartbroken after we lost to Belgium. Some funny things came out the next day..especially Tim Howard listed as the US Secretary of Defense! I love it

President Barack Obama congratulated the U.S. men's soccer team "who represented America so well the last few weeks" at the 2014 World Cup, and gave a special shout-out to goalkeeper Tim Howard.

"I know there's actually a petition on the White House website to make Tim Howard the next Secretary of Defense," Obama said in his weekly address. "Chuck Hagel's got that spot right now, but if there is a vacancy, I promise to think about it."

That petition is one of two on the White House's We The People website calling for Howard to receive big honors after his history-making World Cup performance. Another petition, which has been signed by almost 17,000 people, calls to rename Washington National Airport in Washington, D.C. to "Tim Howard National Airport."

Help / HCG

I am on my 17th day withHCG injections and I totally blew it yesterday and went off the diet. Is this going to hurt me? I am back on today! How long will it take for me to start to loose again?

HCG

Is anyone doing the HCG Injections and not following the protocol? I am wanting to do a low carb, no sugar, and stay at the 500 cal. and put some variety in the diet. Is anyone else doing the injections and not doing the protocol and still losing.

You might get more answers in this forum below. We have kind of veered off the HCG diet for most of us. Good luck it CAN be done without following the plan exactly!!

Howard was my fav from the US Team way before everyone started talking about him. I even plastered a naughty (but beautiful) pic of him on my fb page

That game was heart breaking but they played good. Well HE played amazing.

My sister would so agree with you...She is forever rooting for the underdog. I have always had a passion for the Brasil Team. Probably cuz my cousin is so passionate about them (his father is Brasilian).

Great games tho. I am truly enjoying this WC more than ever

Good morning loves! So how did your 4th go for you guys? I ate alot! I drank some. I had such a wonderful time with friends and family! So nice.....

Thought the scale would kill me with all I had but I was pleasantly surprised!
Here we go for July:
June #s (started 199. Goal 190. Last weigh in of the month was 190.5)
July goal is 185

7/1 ~ 193 (down day & much needed! Look at the jump in scale! YIKES!)
7/2 ~ 190 (up day today)
7/3 ~ 191 (down day today)
7/4 ~ 189.5 (up day today) HAPPY 4TH EVERYONE!!!!
7/5 ~ 190.5 (down day today)

I like sleeping in on down days! LOL This way I have my coffee closer or sometimes even past noon and by the time my tummy starts desiring food, I can have it for dinner time and I am done with the down day at home!
I'm planning today's down day tho. I want it to be better than the one I had on Thursday which sucked. I'm going to head to Costco and pick up my favorite chix burgers. I'll have one on pita with cucumbers, tomatoes and tzitziki (sp?) sauce. It's a wonderful down day meal!!!

This week is going to be quite a challenge and I have zero clue how to approach it....
Maybe you guys can help me with suggestions?

Monday - Down day and I'll be ok.
Tuesday - Up day and I'll be ok.
Wednesday - We are heading to the Brasilian churrasqueria (sp) restaurant for my boss's retirement lunch with his dept. There is ZERO way I can make this a down day even if I tried. So should I make Tuesday and medium day?
Thursday - Down day and I'll be ok.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday we will be camping and well you guys do know that keeping low during camping time is nearly impossible!!!! Soooooo what would you guys do? I hate that I feel stressed about this. Only had one stressful time diet wise last month and I hated having to think so much about it. LOL *sigh*

How is everyone doing? Most are still out celebrating the Holiday weekend I am sure
Hoping you all are enjoying it to the fullest!!!

Well I guess I've talked ALOT so I'll go for now See you guys tomorrow....Have a blessed day one and all!

Shari how are you? Had a great day yesterday with it being the 4th of July and my hubby's birthday. We had a big bash and a wonderful time. The great thing is that I did not have to cook anything because hubby's sisters took care of the food since it was his birthday.

Hello Jen, Deb, Pati, Gracie, Shari and everyone else. I hope your holiday and weekend has and will be the best.
Pati you are doing great with your plan, I hope you get some great advice for your challenge.

I did end up eating a small piece of birthday cake that was not gluten free and had a small amount of cramps over in the night and today suffering with joint pain. Other than my stomach cramps, I get arthritis like joint pain and stiffness.... Back gluten free today and will be JUDDDIng next week.
Later ladies

Hi ladies!

Jan~I'm well, thanks. Great you had a wonderful holiday with family and to hubby! Sorry you got tummy problems again and now arthritis/stiffness, hope it's gone by now. Yay, so glad you're going to JUDDD with us now! Will tomorrow be an UD or DD?

Julie~great news!! Good luck with your round!

Pati~Great rotations! Yeah, I'd make Tuesday a MD then Wed could be an UD. The weekend, I'd just try to make whatever day would be a DD a MD that way you're still getting the 'up and down' rotations in some way. The best thing is that you've been doing it long enough that JUDDD is very forgiving by now, whatever you decide.

Jen~sounds like you had a nice holiday. How are your rotations going?

Gracie, safe travels..hope you had a great holiday weekend at the lake.

I'm still doing well on JUDDD. The fourth was suppose to be a DD which I was okay with as I didn't have plans. Well that changed, so I ended up really having more of a MD...so I made yesterday a DD. Today is an UD due to changing rotations.

Oh Pati, tell me more about the burgers at Costco and the tzatziki sauce, is this sold at Costco too? I love this sauce and is sounds divine on pita bread for DDs. I'm always looking for great DD menu ideas too.

Good morning!!!

I had a great fourth of July as well. The Fourth fell on an UD for me so that was good. Yesterday was supposed to be a DD so I transitioned the DD to a MD to allow a little more calories and I also fasted until 4pm. I had a coffee w/cream for breakfast, turkey burger no bread with bacon (4 strips) and avocado (2 slices) and cheese (1 slice), three french fries, sauteed mushrooms (5 slices), pistachios (15), 3 reeses peanut butter cups (minis), jell-o dessert (1 cup) it's made with raspberry jello (top layer), cream cheese in the middle, and blueberry filling and gelatin for the bottom layer. We call it red, white, and blue salad. It's so yummy and not sugar free No idea how many calories...I should probably look and just make sure things are okay with my calories from time to time since I do not count.

Pati-When I have DDs that turn to MDs it does help to hold off eating until later in the day. Then I let my UD brain have some fun within reason...I think the secret is waiting to eat as long as possible. I am implementing this on my UDs too to keep it a habit. I don't really like eating in the AM too often. It's forced if I do or my DH cooks for me.

Julie-So glad they turned in your HCG! Have a great Round

Shari-You are doing so well with JUDDD as well. I have to remember how forgiving this WOE is. I get so disappointed with the scale. I need to just weigh after DDs and never if I've had any wine. I have been wine free for two days and going for another. I think it will help DH with his challenge.

I just tallied up my calories from yesterday and it was 1,013...so, I don't think that is bad at all for a MD. I did not feel deprived at all. It was a very easy MD. The hard part was riding in the car with kids that wanted to constantly snack. I had my coffee and did just fine

Good morning girls! We're checking out of the resort today . We're gonna stick around and swim for a while though.

I took my first dose yesterday, and will load again today. Not sure so I am weight wise, and it doesn't really matter at this point. I'll be starting vlcds tomorrow and will be home, so I'll get a start weight then. I'm guessing I'm up above my 155 cut off weight, but it is ok! I've enjoyed my vacation!

Shari-sounds like you're off to the races with Juddd! Hope you do well and adjust to it quickly!

Pati- I knew you'd be in the 180's!! Great job! Keep it up!!

Gracie-hope you had fun at the lake! I'm sure you did!

Deb-a few days off in a row? What ever did you do with yourself? I hope you're rested and restored and the week ahead isn't too much overtime!

Jan-sounds like gluten is definitely the culprit for you! Hope you're feeling better!

Jen-you're rocking Juddd too!in the beginning the scale is a bit wonky. You lost after an up day and gained after a dd?! that's wonky! It'll straighten out and you're doing great sticking your rotations, adjusting for life! All good!

I'm going to enjoy myself more today. I kept it pretty clean yesterday with mostly GY. Got hungry last night and had some pistachios. at least I kept to the high fat low carb theme I had going there . Enjoy the rest of the weekend my friends!
