I think JUDDD is kind of how naturally thin people eat, (without thinking about calories of course) If they have a day where they eat all they would want and maybe more, then the next day they just don't eat much. At least that is what my naturally thin sister does.. Man, I want to be like her..
I know! Think people piss me off. Even more than that, thin people who eat all day and eat crap suck even more!

Something in JUDDD was working back then. My mind set then is different than it is now because as I read I keep saying to myself, what if I gain the weight back versus losing this time But the more I read the journal, the more tempted I am to give it a go? Keep tuned

I had the yummiest salad for lunch. It was grilled chicken cobb with bacon/hb eggs. I used blue cheese dressing. I swear I just graduated high school!!!

I will weigh on Friday for an update.

Pati ~ those JUDDD posts are interesting. I believe even if we fast only 1 or 2 days per week it is beneficial. I just have so much trouble with the other days. I feel like I need to overeat to get ready for my fasting. Maybe I'll try one tomorrow and see how I do.

Big hugs to everyone - have a lot of work to do!!!
Wishing the best for your DS

You're doing well Gracie and your salad JUST MADE ME HUNGRY

I'm a few lbs heavier than you (I will weigh Friday morning and let you know )

AH!! FOOD PORN !! really sounds yummy and I am mentally getting hungry.

Overeating before fasting is what did me in on JUDDD. I always felt deprived, but I am a wuss when I get hungry...

on ds and the bone scan. The dye is a bit scary! poor kid! i hope it's just really bad shin splints! This injured athlete stuff is stressful and frustrating-especailly running from one specialist to another and they're still not well! Hope this test gets a solid diagnosis and treatment for him! They wanted to do the MRI with contrast on my dd yesterday, but I asked to just do the regular MRI. Couldn't believe the dye was necessary...but I guess a tear is possible. I Hope it was enough! I don't want to do it again!
And...:bir thday: I hope you have a great day and get to celebrate somewhere fun tonight!! You're a few years behind me , but I think being fabulous in our forties is worth the effort!! KUTGW! and enjoy your special day!

Pati-that is interesting!! Someone on the main hcg thread did Juddd right after a round, cmarie I think. I think Dawn did too one round. Do a thread search on that forum and you can find her thread. Keep us posted on what you decide .

Deb-that's how I did Juddd too. I more than compensated for the deprivation ! And you're so right! All of the weightloss and maintenance battle is mental 90%!! Having no hunger is a huge help, but actually consciously choosing what to eat is the biggest part of it. I'm remembering your IE period and how successful you were with it. I'm dabbling in that, but with high fat, low carb through this P3 now. I even bought macadamia nuts today to keep on hand. Gonna work on waiting to eat until I'm truly hungry...which is tough!

Today I did my Zumba class and hit the store. We're all stocked up on good healthy food options. Grass fed GB was finally on sale, so I got several packs. If I had a garage fridge still I would have gotten more! Just had my late breakfast - bacon and eggs with cheese - big meal but not til 11:00. Should hold me a while! Feeling satisfied and focused!

Yes Julie, I was very successful doing IE and why did I stop? Because I wanted to lose faster? See how that does not work, because then I gained 20 plus pounds over the holidays. Easily, too easily. Scary really.

I am reading "Diets STILL don't work" right now. He talks about if you want to be rich, do you talk to poor folks? If you want to be thin, talk to naturally thin people who have been that way for years.

He mentions that Newly thin people that are maintaining for at least a year, are usually very obsessive in how they maintain. Counting everything and basically moving their obsession from diets to not gaining. Hummm... I have seen it on these boards also..

This why he talked to thousands of naturally thin people for what they do. Apparently only "fat or formerly fat people" know how many calories are in anything..

Anyway, it really is interesting and I have just started it. Food for thought..

Deb-that is interesting. Cute title too! I've read a lot about maintenance lately too. The problem i have comparing myself to thin people is that there are many differences between those of us who've lost a lot of weight and those who are "naturally thin".
The hormone issue is a huge, practically insurmountable, factor in the long term dieters equation. I know hormones and thyroid make a big impact for me! The yo yo cycle, Leptin issue, metabolism slow down, set points, mental paradigms, fat cells that desperately want to refill, broken intuition, and just plain bad habits and messed up relationships with food, are all contributing factors. I'd like to hear more of what he's gathered in his book. I wish he had found and interviewed those who've lost a lot of weight and KEPT it off long term without obsessing over it. That would help me. I would love to be that person one day!

I have been trying maintenance for a while now, and just relaxing and listening to my body has not worked! I don't know of anyone who successfully lost a significant amount of weight and has kept it off without being vigilant. I wish it were that simple and easy, but for me I need to stay controlled and mindful. There has to be somewhere between obsessive and controlled. I hope to stay stable while still living life, but I also don't want to keep gaining and losing the same 20 lbs all my life. Sigh.

Gracie!

No news on dd's MRI. I can live with that, still hoping all is well and it's just a strain. Took her for a pedicure yesterday so she feels a bit better facing the report. These teen years are tough for everyone, but I must admit it's pretty good so far. We have our moments, but overall she's not a moody brooding kind of girl and isn't bombarded with mean girls and social pressure every day. That's a huge blessing. Both my girls are encouraged to be themselves and serve others, not conform to the popular kids and only think about themselves. That does tend to make them very different from their peers! With all she's faced this past year or so, I am so proud of her. That's a lot of pain, frustration, fear and disappointment for anyone to bear, let alone a 13 y.o. Girl on top of just dealing with puberty!

Weight up a smidge today to 153.4. No biggie, may be the Mac nuts I added yesterday. I'll drop them today and see how I do. Couljd be from zumba, but I'm not sore. Going to make chicken tortilla soup today, and that'll be a bit higher carb for me, so I'll reduce my fats a bit and hope for the best. No exercise today either. Well, maybe a walk .

Week 2 of stabilizing going fine. Glad there aren't any big celebrations coming! My bday is Memorial Day this year, so that whole weekend will be rough on the scale. I will be in P4 at that point, but will still tread lightly. I know I will eat pizza and some sweets that Monday. Would love to have that intuitive eating thing nailed by then .

Sorry so long winded today!

Yes Julie, the whole idea of eating to hunger is so SIMPLE.. too bad it does not translate to real life for me like it does for some..

The whole book is full of exercises to do to get your mind right. It may take a while..

Also, like you said, there is the hormone issue, thyroid, etc etc.. that all factor in. He sure makes it a challenge to say the least!!!! he did talk to people who had maintained for more than 10 years and found that they were "controlled but not obsessive". Some even went back to WW to have some "control". He said something like that would work fine with intuitive eating. Also it made the people more secure.

Not sure what I am going to do yet this summer, but I am working on his mental exercises right now. VERY interesting indeed!

I sure hope your DD comes through this in good spirits!! It is so tough for anything different at that age... I am sure she will be fine though, she has made it through the worst, I HOPE!!

You have done a great job at maintaining Julie!!! Be proud of that. you will figure out what to do for your BDAY weekend!! Think "thin person" ..

Happy Birthday late to Gracie!!!

Happy Friday one and all

Well I made it all week with the rx stuff However, I didn't shoot up yesterday or today I know the "rules" say I should wait, what, 72 hours to eat fat but being I am "rogue" I didn't dose yesterday ate vlc and today I am fasting til dinner at which time BRING ON THE FAT! LOL

I am done done done....So my final #s? (Yes I count load weight) 15 lbs. My mini goal was 205. My bigger goal was 199. I made it to 202. 3 lbs past my mini goal and 3 lbs away from my bigger goal

I'm doing Atkins/P3 (no fruits for now) and starting Monday BACK TO THE GYM I GO!! I'm so super stoked about that! Missing Zumba. Will probably ease into weights and of course, I can't weigh TOO much to not be too disappointed in the weight fluctuations caused by working out (especially lifting)...

I'm in a happy place right now. I will be doing Atkins/p3 for about 2 weeks - 3 weeks max and moving on to JUDDD (for weight lifting purposes).

That's all folks!

It's so quiet in here! WHERE DID EVERYONE GO?!?!?!

Well, have a good weekend one and all

I'm sure you lost more than that! But even if you didn't you'll be happy I'm sure.

I'm really glad I did it rogue. I mean 15lbs in one month ain't too shabby especially having several cheat days in there? I WILL TAKE IT!!!

I can't wait to JUDDD. I think it's a good plan. I wanted to JUDDD next week but am a lil' scared SO I'll give it 3 weeks in Atkins (ok ok...I'll be honest with you guys. I will give it as long as possible before I move to JUDDD. NO PROMISES! LOL)

BTW Been reading up on the Quest bars and I have yet to find anything negative about them. They are now going to become staples in my life
(very expensive staples if you will )

When are you weight Deb?

My last weight was 174, but I have a feeling I have not lost this week. With all my travels and adventures, I will be happy to lose at least a pound! That would put me at 15 and that would be wonderful.

I want to get to 140ish, but if I keep up exercise and actually build some muscle, I will take whatever the scale says. Right now, I have NO MUSCLE tone at all. ugh... Oh well, part of aging, but I want to reverse that!

You will do wonderful on JUDDD!!!! I hope you keep posting and let us know how you are doing! We miss you when you go away for 4 years..

Oh yeah! I am just going to break down and get me some quest bars.. they sound too good to be true, but I guess they are!

I do look completely different, but have not taken anything recent. All I seem to find is fat pics.. I will have someone snap a shot or find one from over the weekend. I think I have a pic from my hubby's work function, I will look for it. I am camera shy like you..

I STILL don't like the way I look though. I am flabby and have not bought any new clothes..

Well, have a good weekend one and all
Congratulations!, you've done great!! Wonderful losses snd in 1 month?
Woohoo!! I love that you're in a happy place and looking forward to P3 and Juddd!
I was reading online for stabilization success and the blog that really made sense to me recommended waiting to add weight lifting for a month after ending the hcg. It kind of gave me a guideline. I have historically jumped right back in and paid the price on the scale, and mentally. So, this time, I am actually gonna wait to lift. Only 2.5 more weeks for me. I'm back to cardio and some body weight stuff (push ups, squats).
Speaking of pictures...I've never seen any of you. How about a little before and after? It really does help you to see how far you've come .

Deb-you've done great too!! And i agree, ready for some updated pics of you too!! Looking forward to your final weight and celebrating with you too!! Enjoy P3!!! I know you will .

Re: quest bars-they're my favorite! Like I'm indulging, but safe!! As long as you control it, they're great. I can see the temptation to overeat them though. I've never tried it, but wonder how bad it could be? I like the choc pb, and the double chocolate ones the best! You can get them to send you a free sample online. I still usually have one every day. Good insurance for when I get hungry and am out.

I'm settling in at 153.9 this morning. So this may be where my body wants to stabilize. I'd be ok with that. Ldw+1.5, kind of close to the top lf my range though. a little scary, but ifi can be nice and stable here i may adjust my window. Took a nice walk with my neighbor yesterday.
Still waiting for dd's MRI results. I did confirm the report was delivered to the surgeon by 5:00 yesterday, so now we wait. Sigh. It's Friday, dd has a quincenera tomorrow for a friend, I hope she won't need surgery the same day!! Usually once a slip is diagnosed (IF that's what she has) the surgery is an emergency. It's really odd-you're fine, in some pain but playing volleyball and running around one minute, then once you know, you need crutches and rest until they can operate. sigh. Still hoping it's just a muscle pull. We will see. Whatever the outcome, I trust God is in control.

Great job stabilizing!!! I think it is a good idea to wait on the lifting, it sure won't hurt!!

Hope you get those results soon, hate waiting too!.. Like you said though, trust that whatever the outcome, your DD and your family will be handle it. You have a strong little girl!!..

PATI! yes, we need to see some pics of you too.. although I THINK I have seen some elsewhere I know you posted one on here.. you shy thing you...

Hi everyone!! I'm still sitting at 200.8 this morning but my birthday celebration involved beer and gambling I am starting to get a little frustrated though. My mind keeps wandering to doing a short round and getting either firmly into the low 190's or 180's. It's so enticing because of the rapid weigh loss. I just hate thinking about P2 but once I'm in it, it's not as bad as I thought. I do love low-carb but my body is resistant to losing.

Pati ~ GREAT JOB!!! I can't wait to follow your JUDDD progress.

Deb ~ Can't wait to see your progress pics. I'm sure you look awesome!

Julie ~ You are stabilizing great!

Big hugs to everyone!!!

That's wonderful after all the celebrating!! You'll drop down a few lbs I'm sure. I can so relate to your dilemma. I was in the exact same boat a few months ago. But at least you can lose a bit on LC. I couldn't budge the scale no matter what plan I tried! I had to go back to hcg or else I would keep gaining or be stuck with the holiday gain, and not be able to wear half my wardrobe! have you ever tried the Rx? I was really intimidated by it before I tried it. But I must admit, it wasn't that bad and really made a big difference for me-hunger, feeling of well being, energy, and actual weight loss were all much better on the Rx. Just my $0.02. I know how hard it is. But, 3 weeks for 10lbs? Tough to find something better. Good luck!

Deb-yup, waiting stinks! can't do much else though. Thanks. I feel good and am actually content for now. I do have another round planned, but want to give my body (and mind) a nice break before trying to lose again. I would love to see 130something on the scale. Never seen it, got down to 144 once-my lowest weight ever. Can't imagine it, but know it's possible with hcg. We'll see . I do think the hcg can make me greedy. 12-20 years ago I would have given anything to get to where I currently am!
Don't you usually lose some weight over the summer without really trying? With all the swimming and lighter eating? I vaguely recall you losing weight without actually trying before (and a mild case of jealousy on my part ).

HAPPY weekend ladies!!

I am intimidated by the RX. I wish I could get it at a pharmacy here and use it. I'm afraid of mixing myself and then I always worry that it would be tainted or something. I know, crazy

Great tip on the weight lifting, Julie. I however am a rebel LOL I'll come crying to you guys when I feel it in the scale, I'm sure LOL

You all are doing wonderful (even with all that celebrating Gracie did, and she's still at a good weight! WOOOOOHOOO!)

Gracie, don't be afraid of the rx stuff. It actually works WONDERS! I am more afraid of doing the hhcg than the rx. I think it works wonders!

GOOD LUCK! I know we're supposed to wait a while to restart new rounds. I think I will try one more before the summer starts (possibly load on 7/4 holiday )

Ok, so I can't take a good pic.. you get the idea.. my clothes are too big now, but I still wear them and they make me look bigger.. maybe it is time to just buy something else..

The picture in blue holding the cup is when I weighed 155. I want to get lower than that.

Glad you had fun!!! you are sitting at a good weight right now, through all of that! congrats!!

I so much can relate to the fast HCG losses.. I love them, but I hate P2!! I am going to try to figure out what to do still for the summer, but after reading Overfed Head, I am sure a work in progress on the eating to hunger thing! I would LOVE to eat like a naturally thin person..

That's the thing Julie, when I just go about my day, and get lots of outdoor activity, and keep busy, I either maintain or lose.. it is when i really TRY to diet, that I fail. The only thing that works for me anymore is HCG, and I have been doing it for awhile now, need a break!!

SOOOOOOOO I think I will just put DIETS out of my mind and LIVE... see where that takes me this summer!

Do whatever you feel is right for YOU!! As far as weightlifting goes, maybe it will work for you, it did before!! I also agree that RX is superior to HHCG. I did have success with HHCG, but RX, wow, it really makes a difference!

Don't be scared Gracie!!.. nothing to worry about really.
