Morning peeps! I stayed on plan yesterday and the scale was at 207.4 this morning. I think maybe the fat free honey mustard from Chick Fil A wasn't the best choice as it probably had some sugar in it. But, I'm happy with the 0.8# loss

I got my husband's cold My nose and head feel all congested. I don't want to take anything though because it messes with my losses. I'm going to do the neti-pot and see if it helps clear it up.

Yesterday's Menu:
B: coffee/cream/splenda
L: grilled nuggets/ side salad w/ff honey mustard
D: P2 Chili and strawberries

Here's how I started:
Friday 2/14/14: 211 (Load Day 1)
Saturday 2/15/14: 211 (Load Day 2) same
Sunday 2/16/14: 212 (Load Day 3) +1
Mon 2/17/14: 212.2 (First VLCD) +0.2
Tues 2/18/14: 210.6 (VLCD 2) -1.6
Wed 2/19/14: 208.2 (VLCD 3) -2.4 (total -4 lbs)
Thurs 2/20/14: 207.4 (VLCD 4) -0.8 (total -4.8 lbs)

Hey ladies,

I got busy too with work and home. Congrats to everyone!! We're losing daily, however small the releases are.

I released 0.2 oz not enough to really put a dent in my numbers, but my clothes are fitting a lot better and WOW, it's no denying that this stuff works and inches are lost faster because I've been this weight number-wise on Atkins and my clothes weren't this loose...at this same weight. You're right Lo, you know that 20lbs lost with hcg looks like a lot more. I'd like to lose 20 lbs too but knowing how this rodeo show works, I'd have to do at least 30 days....here's to wishing and I/we can keep going.

I have several appointments today too, unless clients cancel so I may not be on as much today...but let's make today count! Who's with me on trying to drink more water? I know my losses are better when I'm fully hydrated so I'm going to also try to get in at least 64 oz....

Gracie~ sorry you're not feeling well, I hope you feel better. Both of my sons have a cold, so I'm disinfecting as much as possible praying I don't get it too.

Today's menu is the same as yesterday...strawberries, apple and chicken salad. I'm just too lazy now to make changes but I'll look for recipes tomorrow for grocery shopping to add variety so I don't get too bored.

So far today, I had a turkey sandwhich.. yep.. on the flat bread. GOOD!!

lunch, tuna salad.. no mayo.. veges..

Dinner.. very lean hamburger, veges of some kind, Strawberries as usual..

It is becoming a routine, I hope I feel that way tomorrow!! I was so bored last night for no reason. I feel better now.

haha.. me too Shari.. too lazy to try other things, although I would like to. The thing is though, then I start to think about food too much, and I don't want to.

Oh I like the idea of using the flat bread for a sandwich Great idea!

Yeah, I was missing my fav, wings, last night although I wasn't hungry...I just wanted to taste them LOL. I kept thinking about the fact that I can eat them within the next couple of weeks if I want, so no need to mess up just for that. I remember when we did rounds before together, we'd make up a list of food we wanted to eat in P3 and P4 to remind us that they are not gone forever, just a small sacrifice now with a big reward later

Oh, oh...I forgot to say that for V-Day, G put a deposit on a cruise in May!! He paid for our plane tickets last night too..I'm so excited. I was already motivated, this just put the extra fire need to walk the chalk line...mostly (as we go rogue sometimes ).

Deb, when is Hawaii vacation again?

BBL ladies, hope you all have a wonderful day

Well, for a wing-like substitute you could take your melba toast and crush it and add some spices. Then wet your chicken and put the breading on and cook with some Frank's Red Hot. It might help!

Great idea to make a list of things as we go that we miss. We KNOW we can have it later.. mine is RIBEYE.. gosh I love a good thick yummy one.

I WILL have it later..

Hawaii is still when I want it to be. My son's friend was going to be married in Maui in March, but now he and his finance broke up!!!! ACK.. so no wedding in March. I would still love to make it a spring trip.

My sons birthday was yesterday and so I talked to him about it. He suggest my husband and I still go, but he is starting a new 6 month stint as a consultant and will not have as much time as he would have. I really wanted to make it a family trip, but it looks like just me and the old man..

I can make those reservations whenever I choose, so I am aiming for April. I NEED TO GET THIS FAT OFF NOW, so I can enjoy it. Man I have been saying this for months, and look where I am? ICK.. I honestly just can't put if off any longer. I guess If I make FIRM FIRM plans.. I will have to do it..

You and G cruising again!! WOW.. you are regulars!..

Gosh, today I am just doing it.

A cruise!!! I would be on a mission to lose this weight!!!

I think that's what I need, some kind of motivation. The last time I got down to 177 was before my sister's wedding.

This lady is the one who's videos I have been watching the past couple of days. She lost like 167 pounds on WW and exercise. I just enjoy listening to her talk about how you really need to be accountable to yourself when you are on a weight loss journey. It really is making me think about getting a body bugg.. She has lots of videos and I started at the beginning. This is not the beginning..

Didn't eat lunch til 1:45 pm, just wasn't hungry. I had hard boiled eggs - 3 whites and 1 whole egg. I added mustard and made an egg salad. I also had 3 melba rounds, 5 strawberries, and asparagus. I'm super full!!! I guess that's a good thing!

Gracie I am still using the salad spritzers I had bought a lot at one time. But they no longer sell them here in Richmond, so I don't know what I will be using once I run out.

OWL UPDATED VERSION

Beverages
____ Drink water for weight loss and make this a permanent good habit. 4 to 8 large glasses of tap water, or filtered water per day (1/2 to 1 gallon per day).
____ Flavored water that is calorie free is allowed. No “Crystal Light”. Enjoy a large range of calorie free beverages, but read the label to confirm “0 Calories per serving” - such as Sobe Zero and Vitamin Water Zero.
____ Caffeine is allowed, but does not count towards your water intake. You may have hot or cold tea, and coffee. No milk or dairy is allowed. No fat free creamers.
____ Diet soda pop is not healthy, but is very addictive. Continue to consume a limited amount of diet soda pop to avoid cravings and withdrawal headaches.

Meats
You are allowed 7 ounces of meat per day – use your food scale to weigh raw meat before cooking. If frozen meat is selected, weigh after thawing and any excess moisture is drained off the meat. You may mix your meat choices in a given day. Eat approximately ½ of the meat at lunch, and ½ at dinner (or at least spread them out over the day). Cook your meats without oil. Use “PAM” non-stick spray in moderation, combined with a non-stick pan, George Foreman grill, bake in the oven, poach in water, or grill outdoors.
____ Beef – lean ground beef (97% or higher) will work and is similar in calorie to white chicken meat
____ Beef steak is limited to twice per week. On days that you choose to eat steak it is best to limit yourself to 5 oz of steak for the entire day. Only the leanest of steaks are allowed (“trim zero” – free of all visible fat) such as filet mignon, strip, sirloin or beef tenderloin.
____ Chicken – breast or tenderloin (“tenders”).
____ White Turkey – same as with chicken, remove the skin and any visible fat before cooking. Ground white turkey meat listed as 99% lean will also work, and makes nice patties.
____ Shrimp (I allow precooked shrimp, which is pink in color, and has been steamed. No calories are added during the cooking process. Weigh it as 7 oz of cooked shrimp).
____ White Fish – tilapia, orange roughy, perch, halibut, cod, catfish, northern pike (or any other white fish). Precooked tuna packed in water will work, but is a bit higher in calorie – so use it only twice per week). Salmon is healthy but not allowed, as it is too high in oil and calories. Enjoy salmon again after you have lost weight.
____white crab meat (canned or fresh, pre-cooked is fine).
____ Bison and Venison – lean cuts only
____ Scallops

Vegetarian Substitute for “Meat”
____ Beans - totaling no more than 300 calories per day, divided into 2 meals. As a rough guide, this amounts to ½ cups per day of navy, kidney or white beans. Read the labels, and keep the fat content to a minimum. Baking your own beans will be the safest way to success.
____ Tofu – 7 oz per day

Vegetables
____ Unlimited amounts of celery, green lettuce (iceberg, romaine, baby leaf, and mixes), spinach and arugula. Eat an appealing salad twice per day, with your meat selection.
____ 4 cups per day (use your 4 cup Pyrex dish)– choose from tomatoes, peppers of any color, radishes, onions, cucumbers, zucchini, broccoli, cauliflower, squash, snow peas, green beans, asparagus, cabbage, brussel sprouts, onions and mushrooms. Limit on snow peas to no more than ½ cup per day. Out of the 4 cups you will eat some of the veggies raw, add some to your salad to make it interesting, and cook the rest to be eaten at lunch and supper.
____ Dill pickles from “off the shelf” are rated zero calories, and are free. If the pickles are cold packed (kept in the refrigerator even prior to opening), then they will usually be listed as “5 calories per serving”. Dill pickles make a good snack between meals. Caution: If you have high blood pressure (hypertension) or heart failure, then you must limit your salt intake. Pickles are high in salt, and should be used with caution, or not at all.
____ Other preserves such as jalapeno peppers, yellow banana peppers or red cherry peppers are low calorie products that may be added to meals, or used as snacks. Also high in salt.

Fruits
2 Servings per day if you choose to have one approved alcoholic beverage per day.
3 Servings per day if you do not have any alcohol on that day.
Have a serving of fruit for breakfast, and the other fruit in the evening, or as a snack during the day.
One Serving of Fruit is:
____ One medium sized apple, orange, nectarine, peach or pear
____ 2 small clementine oranges (“Cuties”)
____ 1 cup fresh blueberries, raspberries, blackberries or sliced strawberries
____ 1 & ½ cup of diced melon such as honeydew, cantaloupe, watermelon
____ 1 whole grapefruit (Caution: may interact with some prescribed medications)

Bread Products
100 calories per day. Spread the bread products out over the day. Many people will have ½ of the allowance for breakfast (with a fruit serving) and the other ½ in the evening. Choose from:
____ Melba Toast (avoid the rounds, which are too oily. Choose the traditional shape which is rectangular) – choose from classic, wheat, rye and sourdough. 5 pieces of melba toast, contained in a cellophane package, totals 100 calories. Shopping tip: melba toast is often found in the bread aisle.
____ Thomas’ Bagel Thins – the top and bottom totals 110 calories, so divide it between breakfast and evenings.
____ Thin buns, or Sandwich thins from OroWheat and Earthgrains
____ Italian breadsticks – Alessi brand of garlic, plain and sesame – 4 breadsticks the length of the box are allowed per day. If you find the “thin” garlic sticks, they are in a white package within the box. Each white package of thin sticks would be allowed over the course of the day.
____ Ak-Mak crackers (one sheet of 4 crackers is a one day allowance)
____ 100 Calorie Mini-Bags of Microwaveable Popcorn – 94% (or higher) fat free
____ 40 to 45 calorie thin sliced bread (Pepperidge Farms, Sarah Lee) – 2 slices per day allowed.
____ Wasa crackers – read the package and limit yourself to a total of 100 calories per day.

Other Food Items:

____ PAM non-stick cooking spray (1/3 second rated as zero calories). Use in moderation.
____ Smart Balance Spray, or “I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter” Spray. This is a soy by-product and is rated as zero calories per spray. I would limit yourself to 10 sprays per day to be on the safe side.
____ Walden Farm’s calorie free products - Salad Dressings, BBQ Sauce, Caramel Dip, Chocolate Dip
____ Bragg’s Liquid Aminos (this is zero calorie soy sauce, great for flavoring meat or stir-frying vegetables)
____ Cider vinegar and Rice Wine vinegar are zero calories
____ Other vinegars such as balsamic and Red Wine vinegar are low calorie, and may be used in moderation. Use Worcestershire sauce in moderation.
____ “Southern Style” Hot Sauces (Tabasco, Cholula and others) are calorie free.
____ Regular Mustard is calorie free, but avoid the flavored mustards.
____ Seasonings and Spices, fresh or dried herbs, and curry are fine. Garlic is safe, but use in moderation.
____ Real Lime & Real Lemon are considered calorie free. If you want to use a fresh lemon or lime, then each one is about 10 calories, so use up to 2 per day (2 lemons or 2 limes, or one of each).
____ Beef Stock (fat free) for making soups is only 5 calories per cup.
____ Artificial sweeteners –Splenda, SweetNLow, Equal, Truvia, Stevia and others are all fine.
____ Egg Whites – the white from one medium sized egg is about 18 calories. ¼ cup of Original Egg Beaters is 30 calories. If you choose two egg whites, or ¼ cup of Egg Beaters for breakfast, then I want you to decrease the “Meat” allowance for that day by 1 oz. This can be combined with onions, peppers, tomatos and mushrooms to make a nice omelet, that can be placed over a toasted ½ bagel thin. Season with hot sauce or salt & pepper.

Prevent Constipation:
____ Fiber (sugar free Metamucil, Miralax, Benefiber, FiberPlex capsules)
____ Stool Softeners (docusate 100mg)
____ Laxatives (Senekot, Dulcolax, Magnesium Citrate) as needed and as directed by physician. There are laxative teas (“dieter’s tea”) such as “smooth move tea” that may also be used, as needed.

Man, it's been crazy busy today!! I'd rather hang out here, but my peeps/clients ain't having it today

Gracie~ I use regular dressing now..bold, yup, but so far the losses have still been good. I use Marzetti's Simply Dressed Caesar dressing. I use very sparingly but enough to at least flavor the salad so it seems I'm eating a good tasting salad. I've tried a couple Walden Farms and could choke it down so the lettuce wasn't dry, but I still felt unsatisfied overall. So one thing that's really helped me this round is telling myself to test some items, like dressing, and even if the losses are less at least I'm still sticking with it. I never could find the spritzers Loretta used...I know she liked those (sorry it's no longer sold in Richmond, Lo). Yes, a cruise will usually light fire under my @ss to lose weight. The one in December was with the boys and G, and for some reason I didn't really care as much then... but I remember thinking I want to feel more comfortable in my bathing suit, especially when we went to The Atlantis' water park and there are so many water rides..but I felt too ashamed to really let loose and get on some rides as I knew I'd have to take my cover off and um, no....that's not a good look right now.

Deb~Ok, nice that you can go whenever. It does help to have a trip/event planned. You can still have fun with the ole man...maybe it worked out like this for a reason.

Loretta~thanks!

Deb thanks for posting it again. He took it off his site, and now I think you have to pay for it.

ETA: Are you or have you had 'movement' issues in the past? (you know we get personal in here LOL) I just noticed he said to use a laxative or add fiber, and I think I need to do this. The last couple of days have been noticeably 'different'...despite eating salads. I've never used Metamucil, Miralax, etc. but am thinking maybe I need to add this daily. Laxative can can too harsh...

OMG!! that is fantastic Shari!!! 2.2!!!

If you get the chance, go back to her first videos and watch them all. LOL like you have time. I actually LISTEN to them on my headphones at work, while I work. However, I don't really have to talk to anyone, so I can go the whole day doing my work and listening. I am really motivated by her, to add exercise back in, and be consistent when I get to P3 and beyond.

There is no way I could spend 2 hours at the gym every day though! I would love to spend an hour though. She is a stay at home Mom so has the time.

I am down 1 pound exactly, so I am down a total of 11.6- 193.4. I will take it especially since I am eating more calories. 12 VLCDays.

Hope all of you are doing well!!!... I am more pumped than I was before this round started! I had a nice chicken meal last night with some guys bbq sauce. 5 cals/1 carb per 2 T. Man was it good!!!

Today, I have no hunger AT ALL. I probably won't eat till later since I am not hungry.

Congrats Deb!! I will go back and look at the videos, hopefully I'll have time this weekend, or if I have cancellations, I can listen to it too while I do paperwork.

I've heard Guy's LC BBQ sauce is good, and it's great that you're able to add a little bit extras and still lose weight. I'm motivated even more so too...it was getting over those first few days, after that it's been easier.

BBL...

Good morning and happy Friday! Scale was good to me this morning, first it read 206.2 and then 206.0 - I will stick with the higher number though and hope it keeps going down tomorrow.

LoLo - I think they discontinued those spritzers! I've looked everywhere and I can't find them. I like the balsamic one on my salads, I'm so bummed!!!

Shari - I take magnesium every night before bed and I rarely have trouble in the bathroom department. That's awesome that you are able to have the real dressing with no problems. After my first week or so if I get bored maybe I'll try it. You are gonna look HAWT on your cruise - congrats on the drop!!!

Deb - Great loss! Where do you get the LC bbq sauce? I have Walden Farms but it's like flavored water I'd rather use regular yellow mustard than waste my time with the WF! Hawaii would definitely be a HUGE motivation!!!

Yesterday's Menu:
B: coffee/HWC/splenda
L: 4 hard boiled eggs (3 whites + 1 whole) mixed with mustard, 3 melba rounds, strawberries, asparagus
D: About 5-6 ounces of lean ground beef cooked in skillet as a hamburger, 2 dill pickle spears, mustard

I still need to work on the water. I got in maybe 3-4 bottles yesterday.

Here's how I started:
Friday 2/14/14: 211 (Load Day 1)
Saturday 2/15/14: 211 (Load Day 2) same
Sunday 2/16/14: 212 (Load Day 3) +1
Mon 2/17/14: 212.2 (First VLCD) +0.2
Tues 2/18/14: 210.6 (VLCD 2) -1.6
Wed 2/19/14: 208.2 (VLCD 3) -2.4 (total -4 lbs)
Thurs 2/20/14: 207.4 (VLCD 4) -0.8 (total -4.8 lbs)
Fri 2/21/14: 206.2 (VLCD 5) -1.2 (TOTAL -6.0 LBS)

Great Loss for you Gracie!!! You ladies are doing awesome!

I got the guys bbq sauce right here at Netrition. I ordered one bottle awhile ago just to taste it, and it was good. I just got another order delivered yesterday and got 2 more bottles! Totally worth it!

The Waldens Farms are not that good.. Everyone seems to have a different one they can tolerate. I can eat the salad dressing that is purple, the raspberry one? The rest I can sometimes tolerate, but don't prefer it to regular of course.

Thanks! Which flavor/flavors did you get? There are a few of them and I don't want to get a yucky one!

I got the Guy's original which is good!!! Also got the spicy, which I have not opened yet, but plan to soon! It definitely tastes like regular BBQ sauce without the sugar and carbs!
