The Super Shred / The Shred Diet

anyone else doing this? I am. So, I'm going to post on my progress.. or if there isn't any.. right here.. in my little nano spot in cyber space.

It's hard to explain, you eat something every 2 hours, either a meal or a snack. you drink a boat load of water, and you exercise.

For breakfast I had 1 serving of Cheerios with low fat milk

snack was a pack of 100 calorie chocolate grahams

lunch is a biggish salad (big for me anyway), with mushrooms, tomatoe, olives, corn, and 2 tbsp ff dressing.

after lunch snack is 10 walnut halves

dinner is 1 serving size beef, green beans, and carrots.

after dinner snack: 1/2 cup non fat greek yogurt with cinnamon and 1 tsp honey.

and 40 minutes of exercise.

I saw him on GMA and was interested. I will be watching your progress!

Oh I heard there is a huge, active Facebook group doing this diet if you are looking for more support! I think it's called Super Shredders.

Still trudging along on the SS plan. Tomorrow will be the end of week one and if the scale says what it said this morning, I'm going to scream. I do feel like I lost some of my belly fat, but since I didn't measure, i can't know for sure... but I am not going to give up, there are three weeks to go and week two allows more food. yay. fooood.

I believe this diet doctor was shown on Rachael Ray or Dr. Oz recently. There were four women who together at the start of the diet weighed 1000 pounds! At the end of the month one had lost 27 pounds, one 28 pounds, one 21 pounds, and the other 20 pounds. I'll be watching your progress throughout this month! Keep plugging away at it even if your scale doesn't do what you want it to. Sometimes it takes our scale longer to catch up with our efforts!

Good luck this week! We're rooting for you. Toot! Toot!

Thanks for the support!!

Yes, that was the one He was on Kelly and Mike this morning.

So, I hopped on the scale this morning, not expecting anything and was pleasantly surprised to see a 2.5 loss. I'll take it.. not as much as I was hoping, but it's something.

so, onward to week 2, and the meals have cut down and so have the snacks. although, it still evens out.

Meal 1, 1 cup of coffee, 1 cup cheerios, 1 orange.

snack 1: 1 apple, tablespoon PB

Meal 2: 1 large salad, snap peas, mushrooms, beans, 2 tbsp FF Italian dressing

Meal 3: 200 calorie protein shake, lemon water

snack 2: 1/2 cup granola

and minimum of 40 minutes of exercise.

Does he give you the meals to eat for one month in the book? I saw it at the grocery store but didn't purchase it. I'm wondering what is included?

Hope in the next few weeks that your losses increase. I don't know how much you have to lose, but each of those four women must have weighed quite a bit. Maybe the losses are based on how much you have to lose... possibly. Lots of times it seems to be that way with diets.

My one friend is doing the new weight watchers and lost 12# her first month. Her husband just started last week and he lost 10# in one week. Those men always seem to lose quicker and more easily than we do.

I've read the fasting diet book and also 100 by Jorge Cruz. I seem to pick up all the plans but haven't really found something I can stick with long term... over 6-8 weeks. I can lose the first 20 pretty easily but after that, I lose my motivation and cravings and yearnings set in... and there it goes... out the window.

Does Dr. Ian give any instructions as to how to maintain after you lose?

You're doing great and the results will be in at the end of the month! Keep up the good work.

Just wanted to follow up and see how your week 2 went and if weight loss continued for you on the Super Shred plan? I am just starting this, it seems reasonable but would like to hear your feedback.

My week was okay. I didn't lose as much as other people in the group on FB that's following the SS. I'm on week 3 now, and weighed myself this morning, I'm down 6 pounds since starting this journey.

I get to eat 2 pancakes, a slice of bacon, and a fruit, for breakfast. VERY excited about that pancake!!

Okay, I have lost a total of 7 pounds on the 4 week shredder. I had a couple oopsie days, did what he suggested and repeated the day before. I think I've lost inches though, my clothing feels different.

Today, I started the regular Shred, 6 week program.

day 1 week 1. I'll have to post the eating times/menu items tonight as I forgot them at home and am eating what I brought in based on looking at the schedule last night and packing it up for today.

If you're closer to goal, you'll not lose the '20' pounds the Super Shredder is aimed for. I'm 30 pounds to goal, so I guess 7 is all I get to claim.
