Dave asprey's bullet proof rapid fat loss protocol

Starting a thread here as this temporary plan of mine doesn't fit in with my normal NK ways.

I started yesterday. I'm doing Dave Asprey's Rapid Fat Loss Protocol where i basically fat fast for 5 to 6 days on relatively low calories using Bulletproof coffee and butter (and lots of supplements including BCAA's, activated charcoal powder, plus many more) and then refeed for one day on high quality eggs, grassfed beef, starchy tubers, and wild seafood. Repeat until desired weight loss. Today is day 2. My main concern is losing muscle. Hopefully the 10g of BCAA a day will prevent that.

I managed the first day and even slept well. My mct oil didn't arrive as planned yesterday so I basically ate 900-1000k worth of kerrygold butter. Down almost two pounds today. Haha. I can't believe I ate that much cold salted butter. Surprisingly delicious.

Yesterday morning I was 148.3. This morning I'm at 146.5

I hadn't heard of this plan. I'll be lurking and watching to see how it goes. Maybe I'll consider giving it a try.

I love bulletproof coffee. I do a high fat diet with no carbs. Low fat diets suck. They make me crave carbs. I am rarely ever hungry on a high fat diet and I can work for hours and hours on one meal before I have to refuel.

I have been looking at the Fat Fast threads, seems very similar, Dave has you use the best fats, coconut, MCT etc.

Fat Fast came from Atkins, so has been well tested, I wouldn't worry about muscle loss, doesn't seem to be a problem for short term use.

There is even a cookbook for Fat Fast, in case you get tired of butter

Mct oil still hasn't arrived yesterday, so my intake was 700k of kerrygold butter, high quality coffee (1 cup) and all of the supplements Dave recommends.

This morning I'm down 1.4 lbs at 145.1.
My fasting blood ketones are 2.4.

What were your results like?

Hey Green,

I'm thinking about giving the rapid fat loss protocol a try as of tomorrow.

I have been following general NK for a little over 2 weeks and am curious to see how I will feel during this protocol.

How long did you stay on it? How did you feel in the end?
