Karegado, 3 pounds in 7 days is fantastic!

Alliejon, mashed potatoes & ice cream would be perfect for RM, and maybe protein shakes for CM but don't worry about it. Getting a tooth pulled is traumatic enough, and you need
to take care of yourself!

Lunch: 2 sausage links, 3 eggs scrambled w/ shredded parmesan cheese

Dinner: pot roast, mashed potatoes, corn and almond milk

Thanks, Cali girl. Mmmmm... mashed potatoes sound delicious. With gravy! And corn (on the cob)! OMG, it's been forever since I've had either.

-0.3 this morning. Yesterday my lunch RM was broccoli and bacon, about 2 cups of boiled shrimp, 10 goldfish crackers, 4 chocolate chip cookies, one tbs peanut butter and one raspberry donut. Too many carbs! Glad those donuts are gone now I ate my RM very early yesterday so I had a cup of BPC for a CM dinner. I found out that I can not have coffee in the evenings. I felt shaky and tummy felt yuck when I went to bed.

That's why I love CAD. No carb counting and I can still lose! No stress at all.
I am fully convinced it's all about the timed insulin release.

Hi, Ladies!

Hope everyone is having a good day and a great week on plan! I weighed today for the first time in at least a week and was 108 flat. Not too shabby considering the amount of salt I've been eating lately! Hubby and I have been substisting on Stouffer's and Marie Callendar in order to have easy, fast food and more time to get the house together. I've also been eating way too often at a delicious place down the street called BurgerFi. Let's just say their chocolate custard is divine! I'm hoping after this weekend I'll be able to get back to my normal schedule. I'll be weighing every day after today, so I'll be able to see with more certainty that I haven't gone overboard in the next few days.

Good morning. I was down .05 this morning. I put new batteries in my scale yesterday so I updated my stats. -3.5 lbs in 10 days. Not bad at all!

Yesterday...
Lunch RM- 1/2 order Nachos and cheese sauce, the middle part of a cinnamon roll and 2 cups of mocha ice cream.
3PM CM- Meatloaf and salad with ranch. I was actually craving the salad more than anything carby yesterday. Go figure!

Today, BPC with 3 oz unsweetened coconut almond milk as usual for morning CM.
Planned Lunch RM of chili dogs with bun and chips followed by ice cream. Expecting a small gain due to the salt. We shall see in the morning

Karegado,

Chili makes me gain the next day no matter what I do! It must be the salt or heaviness of the meal.

I was back down to 107.4 today, which means despite hardly weighing at all the past couple of weeks, I am maintaining nicely so far. I can't believe I've already been maintaining for almost 3 months! Usually whenever something big like a move happens, I gain a few pounds because I eat too much junk. I'll be honest, I'm still eating junk during the move, but I guess I'm not eating too much junk!

To go along with that, I am eating a number 6 at Taco Bell today for a lunch RM (chalupas, mmm!), and then I'm thinking some kind of chicken and spinach meal for dinner. I'm also going to eat something sweet at lunch, so I think a Marie Callendar chocolate cake cup will do the trick!

This is what makes me truly believe that it's the timed insulin release that keeps us from gaining. I know if I ate the junk I eat in my RM hour, spread out through the day, I would gain and continue craving all day.

I was scanning through some other threads on the board and in one, a person was restricting themselves to two certain foods a day, resulting in a less than 3 pound loss in 10 days. While the loss was good, I just could not imagine doing those two foods only for the rest of my life just to lose weight. Yuck! I am very happy eating any food I want in one hour a day. No stress, counting or starving!

BTW...my doc says I'm very healthy and we both had a chuckle yesterday about my diet.

+0.6 this morning. I'm OK with that and it was expected. I know I have been losing inches lately. I put on a pair of pants yesterday that were tight in the waist last week. They were much looser in the waist and baggy in the seat
Yesterday my Lunch RM was one chili dog on a bun with mustard and chili. A big spoonful of chili on the side to dip my two handfuls of plain chips in, a swiss roll and a drumstick cone.
I had a 3PM CM of half a weenie and small salad with ranch. Salad was wilting so I didn't finish. I wasn't hungry for the CM but had it out of boredom. Not that there is anything wrong with eating a CM, but I'm usually not even hungry enough to eat it. I don't like eating out of habit and not hunger.

Hi all,
Up 0.2 today and I'm not happy about this.

Yesterday RM lunch: pastrami & grilled onion on buttered rye toast w/ fries
( my son took me out to lunch
CM dinner: 3 eggs scrambled w/ cheese & 3 sausage links

Thought I did good because I also wanted ice cream but he was full and I
Wasn't going to order some by myself.

I'm thinking maybe I'll go back to just one meal at dinner or maybe try a protein
shake only for lunch. I really want to lose weight but one meal is harder and I
like having protein for lunch. It seems like I'm still messing with the same lbs.

Also, it's only morning and I'm starving! I didn't sleep well last night had a lot
on my mind. I use to sleep well but as I've gotten older (57) I sleep like sh**!

Anyway it's Friday so I'm happy about that.

Cali girl - it could have been sodium... .2 is not bad. I can go up 2-3 pounds with sodium and be back down the next day...

Speaking of which - I was up three pounds yesterday and back down 3 today. LOL

Yep, and that's why weekly averages are important.

Even if I only average a 1-2 pound loss each week from now on, I will be happy. That's at least 4 pounds a month and I still lose while eating foods I love. I know I would be miserable if I was only losing 4 pounds a month on LC.
I also know there are going to be days where I don't lose but I'm OK with that.

We'll I was thinking of only getting on the scale once a week. I did
read in the book about weekly averages, I think I could
handle that better because I like to weigh myself every day. I will have
to read how that's done.

Kat I love Taco Bell chapupas but what is a #6? I was thinking about going there the other day. I have found from all the diets that I have gone on that fasting is the best and one meal a day for me or longer. I have less hunger and more control that way. Funny but the less times I eat in a day the more energy I have and it is great for vacations too. I don't have to think about what food to eat.

Kat, so what kind of junk? Are you still eating one rm with junk?

I was thinking that maybe I was up because I finally started
exercising this week. I only exercise on Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
I don't think my body is used to it.

our bodies are all different BUT, all of us benefit from the encouragement a tape measure can bring. if you haven't already started using one, i'd start doing that. at least measure your largest "problem" area. this has encouraged me when in a plateau. i plateaued for 3 months once. the tape measure kept me going.

Finally found my book and will read through it before I start again just to be sure I remember things correctly. Going to the grocery store later today to get a few more things to be ready to start tomorrow. I'm going from general low carb back to CAD.

I weighed today for a start number and am at the lowest I've been in quite a while....good point to start!

Yeah, our muscles retain water after workouts. My thought is... always a small gain but nothing to worry about. It'll flush right out.

Jenericstewart,
You know, I think I will do that. My problem area is my stomach. If I could see
that shrink that would mean a lot. I would probably go down a size in pants
if I could lose fat there.

Karegado,
That's probably what it is, I just hate to gain when I am staying on plan.
I will give it more time before I switch it up. I have to be more patient.
Never my strong point

i WISH mine was my stomach. i could at least try to hide that. there's no hiding my be-HIND. it's the only thing i worry about. if my bust gets smaller, i don't wanna know! and when my waist shrinks, who cares!

when i was in a three month plateau, my hips shrunk 2". i was still so depressed cause the scale didn't show. now, as i look back, i see how silly that was. it's all part of the learning process.

Cali, I have never been a patient person. I'm never satisfied for long with anything. I'm a bit selfish and when I want something, I want it NOW. That's why lc diets/woe do not work for me. I can't go through the phases...and with CAD I don't have to wait to eat what I like

hiding my stomach is very uncomfortable! It's so funny how we all
care about something else. I figure I can't see my back side so
who cares As for my bust getting smaller, that fine by me!

Today I went back to my food logs since March. I started Atkins in March. It took me 11 days to lose 10 lbs and I realize a lot was water weight. I started at 165. For the next 22 days, I bounced around from 155 to 158. I was hungry and not satisfied. Tried all the tricks like upping fat and so on. Still hungry. Still no more losses.
Then I tried the South Beach diet because it allowed a few more food items.
On SBD for 21 days I went from 156 to 152, losing 4 lbs. I was still hungry! I had a cheat day twice during SBD and noticed from my food logs that every day after my cheat day, I was down .05 - 1 lb every time.
Next I tried the Big Breakfast Diet, lost down to 149.5 and was extremely happy. The bad thing was I just could not eat my large RM that early in the mornings so I went off plan. Most of May was spent sort of pigging out and I gained back to 154.
Now I am back on CAD and very happy and not hungry at all!
My point is...even on Atkins and SBD, there were small losses and ups and downs. But it was a struggle! I was eating foods I did not care for and most of the time I dreaded waking up in the mornings knowing what my menu would look like for the day.
First ten days back on CAD I had lost 3.5 lbs effortlessly and while eating ice cream!. It feels so wonderful eating like this. I do hope that the ones who are trying CAD will not give up. Give it time. The way I see it, there are gonna be ups and downs with this woe just as there are with lc plans. It's just less painful when I'm eating real and normal food

Yup, it just takes working at it until it becomes our way of normal eating. I have been falling off before I get there, but trying to make it lifestyle...

Good luck to all.
