Hello fellow M&Eers

Day 4 for me too April!
B: 2 eggs fried in guess what?
L: chicken breast sliced and fried in lard with one egg. Holy cow! That was slurplicious!
D: 3 sausages that were suppose to be garlic and herb flavoured. I am skeptical... And 2 fried eggs
Snack 2x fat bombs
Drinks: 3x tea with HWC and a couple of litres of water, forgot to measure.

I am back to where I was 2 weeks ago before I got into the attitude of "I dont care, and I cant be bothered with weight loss mode. i want 2 weeks off to just enjoy being" which was not a good place to be after a lot of bourbon.

I am missing my veges tho. Im currently baking a pumpkin pie bake to have for breakfast in a couple of days with some home made yogurt. it smells sooooo good!

Congrats on your weight loss, Mae. And I sure appreciate all the encouragement, too, from you and everybody else!

LilB, your pumpkin pie bake sounds really good--got a can of pumpkin in the cupboard that is calling my name.

I tried making another recipe of fat bombs today, but what I'm discovering is that while I'm fond of the flavor of coconut, not a big fan of CO. Think I will try some non-CO fat bombs. I am such a dairy girl!

My husband just cooked one of these for me on Sunday. Put a spice rub on it, tossed it in the crockpot for about 12 hours...yummmmy. However, now I may not look at one in the same way ever again.

Oh Lilbeetle, we're on the same schedule! I did two weeks of pretending I didn't know that dairy messes with my gut. And now here I am on Day 5 of M&E remembering how good the WOE feels

Pumpkin pie bake- recipe, please!!

Hey A Rural Girl, did you plan your menu out for your M&E day today? What will you be eating today?

Hi April. I'm winging it, but so far I've had 3 eggs scrambled in 1 T of butter and 1 cup of coffee with 2 T cream and 2 T DaVinci sf chocolate syrup. Will post the complete menu tonight.

Good menus April, LilB, and Natosha. Here's mine:

B - 3 scrambled eggs in 1T butter, 1 coffee w/2T cream and 2T sf syrup
L - Denver omelette (1 serving, and 1/3 of Mom's--had lunch out)
D - 7 - 8 oz. of chicken breast seasoned w/ curry and fried in 1 or 2T of olive oil and 5 small cherry tomatoes, plus 1 very small regular tomato

Snacks - handful of pork rinds, 1 bottle of sf sparkling water, 1 fat bomb

Okay, this wasn't as clean of a day as I had hoped. Lunch out was a challenge, and the omelette had probably 1/2 cup of veggies, but I had an interesting chat with the waitress, turning down toast and hash browns. (She suggested subbing fruit and yogurt until I explained that was pretty high in carbs, too. Nice girl, but she really didn't get it, the poor skinny thing!)

Then dinner I was quite a bit hungry (probably due to TOM) and the tomatoes were the first out of my garden this season and hard to resist.

All in all, could have been better, but certainly not horrible.

My day 5 looked like this:
B: 4 yolks cooked in butter and 2 Tbsp coconut oil in coffee
L: Cornish hen, all skin, some breast meat
D: Bacon (probably more then I should have)
Mint tea

Daily Totals

Fat 106.6 g
Carbs 3.8 g
Protein 93.7 g
Water 96 fl oz

Daily Calorie Composition: 1% from carbs, 71% from fat and 28% from protein.

BUT...Weight went up to 182.4, which was my weight 5 days ago when I began M&E. AAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!

Arurualgirl, not bad at all. At least you are still on the wagon. You may be pleasantly surprised by a whoosh. When I was doing a modified version of M&E, it seemed that on the days that I increased my calories by eating l/c, the more weight I loss. I think I tricked my body into carb cycling.

and well had a lunch made smaller amount beef and like breast and half tiny one
prob same as large put together

then that was at 1:15 so now its like

so had a larger meal

2 eggs, a chcken breast large, more steak then normal like 4oz verse 2 and nice size butter and cheese 2 strips lol

so like my snack and dinner combined but in place of cheese and some chicken breast used eggs lol and such so sortof equal type day so far llol

My menu yesterday--warning, while I didn't cheat, I didn't do as good with M&E as I wanted to do. My TOM has been brutal this time around, with a lot of cravings, emotions running rampant, and feeling achey. Also very hungry, but figured I'd listen to my body and do the best I can. . . Feeling better today.

B - 2 hb eggs w/1 1/2 T mayo and little mustard, 4 strips of bacon, 6 cherry tomatoes

L - 7 or 8 oz. chicken breast fried in olive oil, w/ curry spices and 1 T of bacon grease. (This barely kept hunger away--two hours later, hungry!)

D - 5 oz. of taco-seasoned (no pkt., just spices) hamburger w/2 T sour cream, dashes of Tabasco sauce

Snacks - 1/2 bottle of sf sparkling water
-1/2 oz. pork rinds
-1 Atkins flax muffin (very yum, btw) w/1 T butter, more cinnamon, a bit of sweetener
-1 almond butter brownie (found the recipe in Main Carb lobby, but didn't care for it much)
-4 T cream

So, again, didn't do what I set out to do, but on the plus side, I turned to LC foods when the cravings hit rather than make something worse. That flax muffin really, really helped a lot!

I think we beat ourselves up too easily.

Yeah, the purpose of these boards is for support and accouintabiblity, but really we are human, life isnt meant to be a constant hard slog and we are allowed to mess up sometimes. Shoot, Ive hardly stayed 100%, or even 90% but since the start of March, and starting LC, ive lost 13kg (28.5pounds) and I know after 6 onths of eating like this, that I can keep at it more or less without going off plan. I might push the boundries on portions, but I havent had bread, wheat, sugar, etc.

I say way to freaking go for us all!

Yeah, Ruralgirl, I am getting closer to goal. That means its getting harder to lose, and more work to stay on target, but whatever. I dont have to lose by whatever arbetary goal date I set. I am thinking of satarting another thread - the Not meat and egg thread - for those days we're not M&Eing it.

Got a quick little question for you all - I'd like to do this M&E thing, but the problem is the work schedule I have. I currently work at home and really have almost no time to really eat during the day (a few nibbles here and there). I do plan on switching to this WOE, but will one M&E meal a day suffice and keep me in ketosis (of course drinking water throughout the day before my big M&E meal at dinner time)?

I currently eat only one huge meal a day anyway (with small nibbles here and there) and I'm sure I can adopt a one meal a day M&E WOE.

I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so I had hoped to do a clean M&E Wednesday and Thursday. But, I did pleasantly surprise myself by not eating the toast and hash browns at the restaurant Wednesday, and yesterday, when the cravings were pretty intense for something cakey, I was proud of myself for choosing an Atkins muffin. . . Strange, but for being so hungry yesterday, today has been so entirely different. Normal meals with smaller portions satisfying, no cravings, easy peasy!

Today:

B - 2 hb eggs with 1 1/2 T mayo and a little mustard
L - 1 slice of cheeseburger casserole
D - 6 oz. fried pork chop, breaded with pork rinds, egg, and 1 t of flour and 1 cup of sweet and sour red cabbage (made with sweetener)

Snacks - 1 coffee with 2 T cream and 2 T DaVinci syrup,
-1/2 oz. of pork rinds,
-1/2 bottle of sf sparkling water, and
-1 cup of sf lemon jello w/4 T of cream

Huge roadblock of a question I also have - about how many calories should you be getting in during an M/E fast? I fear that too much or too little calories wouldn't get me into ketosis, which is where I wanna be. And of course, is a one meal a day with M/E sufficient or should I be getting more in?

I never think there is a calorie amount for me i need alot to stay satisfy or to lose

some eat very little..

some eat higher protein or fat and under 5 grams carbs o around that.. i think depends on the body lol

i'm finding out that myself.. last year what worked for me was

tons protein and fat 50/50 per meal and many mini meals like lol

and high calories but same as of now but others tend feel need less

and you can eat as you please

as long as your enjoying it and working then your doing well

Just a small accomplishment on my part - after much procrastinating, I finally tried two hard boiled eggs. The smell and taste reminded me of how I used to eat them as Easter Eggs when I was little.

And lo and behold - I can tolerate them. Do I like them? They're nearly tasteless. I didn't put any extra flavor on them or anything, just took them out of the water, cracked the shell, and ate. But I ate all of both eggs (yes, including the yolk). Now that is a hurdle that I needed to jump over. I'm sure once I add the meat in, it's finally M/E'ing for me (I haven't started yet, just researching).

However, the reason I ask about the how many meals a day, the calories, and how many grams of fat and protein I should be eating is this - my budget and my time. Buying up several pounds of ground beef is going to run me at $81/month, and that is considering three meals a day and eating a pound of ground beef a day. But that is just the start. I have to buy up several dozen eggs as well as other meats to add variety, and that is going to really break the bank every month.

With that being said, my other problem is time. You see, I work at home and I currently eat one big meal a day anyway (dinner time). I just can't really find the time to really grab something to eat other than the occasional nibble. I am sure I can replace the nibbles with water and what have you then have my one huge M/E for dinner.

Which brings me to my next roadblock - calories. Upon doing my research (which I am a freak of doing), I hear that you have to eat a certain amount of calories in order to lose weight, which is below a certain number needed to maintain weight. Apologies if this is confusing.

The point is this - I'm worried that with my budget and my time, if I am not consuming enough protein, fat, and calories, that I won't switch into the fat burning mode, which is where I want to be. I just hate to waste money and say "It doesn't work". That's why I research something so deeply and don't dive head on into it.

Any advice, you all? Thank you so much in advance.
