Just Doing it in July, M/E!

Hey Everyone, here's our July thread now.
I'll be starting a more strict M/E starting July 8-12, figure 4-5 days to begin with anyway. Waiting until after the holidays and go shopping for needful things on the 7th. Happy LCing, M/E ing it. Mae

I want to say this is just for the July challenge. Personally, I will be using both threads as far as chatting, advice, and posting goes.

Hi! I would like to join you guys. Will be starting tomorrow. I used m&e fast previously with great results. Right now I am coming off a carb binge and need to get back on LC train and I know that eating meat and eggs works beautifully. I am also doing JUDDD so after a day or two will be incorporating JUDDD with m&e. Will post my starting weight tomorrow.

ToBeLC. Yes, join us. Lub to have ya. I use alternate days too, with me and my Low Carbing. It works. This is a great group. Mae

Hey everyone else, have a happy 4th of july tomorrow.
I lost about 2.3 lbs this week, slower than last week, but I'll take it. Take care and happy LCing and life.

THIS is the July thread. Not just the challenge. We can do those here too, or just post what you want. Like in the June one. That way we can keep it within the family, lol, here. Let me know. Have a great eve. Mae

WOE: M&E/Atkins On-going Induction
Start Date: April 3, 2013
My 5 days of M&E are up and the daily weigh-ins have been reviewed and tally-ed. This week I lost 3.8lbs.

I must admit that that is pretty impressive. Esp. when the most work I did this week was walk 4 miles. I am heading out soon for a few days to see family, but I'll do my best to keep it M&E while there.

Things I've noticed during this round of M&E:
-I hate the fluctuations! Hate them, hate them, hate them.
-Cheese is def. a staller for me. Days that I used it/had it in my menu were the days with the biggest gains/there was no loss.
-Last but not least, I learned that M&E REALLY DOES WORK. Again, keep in mind I'm one of those 'visual-learner types.' It's not enough to say "I lost weight doing M&E" I got to see the data and the numbers and menus to back it up.

Thanks everyone for the motivation and support. See you again soon.

B: 6 oz lamb burger
L: 4 oz lamb burger
D: 4 oz turkey

Hey Naf and tobelowcarber, todays number is not important, because you know, and I know, its not the number that will be on your mind next week And yes naf, M&G works and it works fast. The trick is to not obsess on it, which is why I mix it up.

27/6 142.6
29/6 141.3
1/7 140.2
2/7 140.6
3/7 139.5
4/7 139.1
5/7 139.3

Today is Friday in NZ, so back on M&E until monday. DD16 is joining me because she wants a quick boost.

I'm very thankful to have stumbled across the M & E fast thread several days ago. This was just what I needed to get me going! My stats so far, as of this morning:

7/1 - 210.5
7/2 - 209
7/3 - 208
7/4 - 207.5

Total loss of 3 pounds!

Today I've just done induction for the Fourth of July. I've really, really missed my cream cheese muffins, so I have two for later. Still keeps me under 20 carbs, and it's my only cheese for today. . .

NAF--yeah, those hb eggs rock!

Got a question for you M & Ers. For those of you who do this so many days on, so many days off, what do you do when not M & Eing?

I do atkins72. It seemed very austere when I started, but after a few days of meat and egg, that slice of avocado and half a cup of lettuce with mayo seems very luxurious

I lose on average 1.5kg a week which is about 3.5 pounds I think.

Good for you Arugal. I do LCing/Atkins/Stillman's combo, ME too. So tailor it all for how I like to eat, well what works for me, and the foods I like to eat. Sometimes it's my mood, but always LC. I average about 1.5-3 lbs a week. If I'm careful, some weeks I may hit 4-7 lbs. Good luck to you. Mae

I'm going to try M/E's for a whole week. I've been kind of stalled (I only lost a pound the last 2 weeks! ugh!) and it's REALLY taking a toll on my motivation right now. I think it's because DH has yet to jump on any weight loss band wagon and I can't get HIM motivated to become healthier. We just got married in October, and I want us to live to be 100!..or at least make it to our 60's...and I know if we don't get it under control now, that dream is much less likely to happen.

Any tips on getting him on board? Maybe Atkins is too scary for him because he won't be able to tell me to go make him a sandwhich? Haha--if it were only that simple, right?!

My DH was not into low carb at all when I started several months ago. Over time he has seen DD and I lose a lot of weight and talk about how much better we feel. I also talk about the new stuff I've learnt during research and even got him to watch fat head.

Over time he has reduced his carb on his own accord. I no longer cook a seperate meal for him so if he wants carbs he has to make it himself.

Today he turned down free lolly's and told the oferee that sugar is bad for you

I think sometimes we spouses dont realise how much influence we have on our beloveds

Must have been the diet dinner I had.

Crayfish, blue cod with lemon butter sauce, avocado and lettuce with mayo. It was such a hardship to eat.

That's ok you can stalk me any time. LOL. Hey, I'm here if you need me. Good luck, hon. You can do it. Hope you had a great 4th.
I overate a little, bit too much. lol. Though it was all low carb stuff, except for a 4 oz glass of milk I just had to have and some sweet watermelon. Guess I'll be doing broth tomorrow, grins.

I did 2 days of m&e and I am moving on to add more veggies. Since I am combining it with JUDDD sticking with m&e for too long is not easy. I did lose almost 3 lb of water after first day but today I am up 2 lb because yesterday was UD and I did eat some carbs with dinner. I may re-visit you again. I always love this fast to jump start things. Good luck everyone!

I don't mean to bore people with my menus, but I feel like it keeps me accountable. So feel free to ignore!

After just doing induction for July 4, here is yesterday's M & E:

B - 6 oz. pork, 1 cup of coffee w/2 T cream, 1 T amaretto sf syrup, & pinch of pumpkin pie spice

L - 5 oz. of taco seasoned hamburger w/2 T sour cream

D - 6 wingettes/drumettes w/ Frank's wing sauce, approx. 2 - 3 T & 2 T ranch for dipping

Snacks: Sparkling Ice orange mango (sf sparkling water), 2 hb eggs with 1 1/2 T mayo and 1 t. mustard, 2 T of cream before bedtime

I'm not going to weigh, reason being TOM is expected shortly, and I don't want to be discouraged by temporary weight gain. I will resume weighing when TOM is a few days in progress.

Forgot to mention--thanks, Mae and LilB, for answering my question. I'm thinking after the wedding on July 14 I might do some combination of M & E with induction. Miss my cheese something fierce. I grew up on a dairy farm (still live on the farm, but, sadly, no dairy anymore) and love my dairy products. Plus veggies are starting to come in from the garden. Yum!

Thx Mae! I think the milk and watermelon are no big deal. Don't get too hard on yourself for whole foods

No worries rural girl. In fact, I think a lot of us like to see the menus so we can get ideas and add variety to our own m&e menus. Post away.

Rural girl...Im a dairy farmer! But I dont like milk. I can do cream, butter and cheese, but milk just smells like cow lol. Having said that its better than the vat rinsings they sell as whole milk in the supermarket.

I've found the longer I meat and egg, the less 'stuff' I bother with. Apart from my cup of tea after meals I just drink filtered water. One night a week Ill have some low carb ice cream, but on the m&e days, I just meat and egg. Seasoning is normally salt pepper and butter. So far I have not found a single meat that didn't taste awesome with garlic butter on it. Even the eggs seem to benefit from a splash

Good morning. I would like to join and will be starting m/e today. Think it will help that I can post my menus. Have done this before, but have gained some back so really need to get that off plus more to get to my goal. Was 10# from goal back a few months, but now need to lose 20-25. Ugh!!
Hope all have a great day.
