HELP! I need to lose 12 pounds in 2 weeks for a wedding.

I'm new at low carb. I been eating 50 carbs a day and I lose about .5 pounds a day. Its a little slow and I'm afraid I won't be able to lose the weight.

Hi Prettyladybug. I'm in the same boat--losing before my daughter's wedding--though I'm down to ten days until the wedding. I lost a little on Atkins induction, then stumbled upon the meat and egg fast and lost a pound per day when I tried it for three days. If you are losing on 50 carbs per day, you might not have to cut carbs back that drastically, but it's worth looking at the meat and egg thread to see if it's for you.

I am not sure this will help but have you heard of the five bite diet? This is what it is:

Breakfast: black coffee (basically 0 calories nothing nada)

Lunch: five bites of anything you want

Dinner: five bites of anything you want

Anything zero calories to drink all day

Sounds drastic, but you can loose 13 pounds in a week

This is the only thing I know that will take off weight that fast.

The book is called "Why Weight Around" by Dr. Alwin Lewis and it works on what he calls your hunger stat, which is to train your stomach to only need five bites of something to be full. He says as long as you have one bite of protein and take a multi vitamin your body will be fine.

I lost 14 pounds in a week on it, I could not do it long term, but for just two weeks you might be able to do it. The first three days are the hardest.

Also there is the Hollywood miracle diet too. I think you can loose 10 pounds in two days on that.

Wow I am really intrigued by this concept. It's so simple, yet so... eye-opening.

I think I may try this idea and see how it goes!

Oops I also meant to mention that you could try the Stillman diet- very quick results with that one!
