Hi everyone, thanks for the warm welcome and hello to my fellow newbies here!

Had a great DD yesterday and woke up to another loss, so now a total loss of 8.9lbs!!! Am really amazed at how good I feel and how easy it is! And for the first time in my fasting history, (I did JUDDD, but I ended up with more cravings and binging problems on UD) I feel in control and not so bingey... I also think being stricter with my LCHF on my non fasting days helps keep cravings under control. I love eating this way!

Well, have a good day everyone!

Everyone is doing great! I had a good DD yesterday and had my official weigh in this morning. I'm down 1.5 since last Thursday. Still 1/2 lb above my lowest posted weight, but I'll get there.

I usually only weigh on the morning after my 2nd DD. This week I did weigh on Monday to see what damage I did with my weekend away. I'm down 4 lbs from that!

I'm off work today to play in a golf tournament. It's going to be a scorcher. 90's and humid. No matter.....a bad day on the golf course is better than a good day at work!

Have a great day!

Morning all doing my 2nd DD of the week and hoping for a nice weigh in tomorrow and that I am able to get that upward trend of the last few weeks stopped. Today craving GY so having a 0 % entire container and some blueberries today which puts me at exactly 494 calories.

I'm hoping I see 125ish tomorrow & then I know I'm on the right track again. Keeping my fingers crossed

Congrats on all the losses ladies !

Sounds like all of you are doing great! So I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I have those same kind of results...so far, I'm pretty pleased!

5/15 - 157.0
5/16 - 157.8 (DD)
5/17 - 156.2
5/18 - 155.6 (DD)

This week I planned my DDs for Tuesday and Thursday. Now I'm worried about the 5 days of feasting until next Tuesday resulting in a weight gain, so I'm thinking next week I'll do my DD on Monday and Thursday.

Happy thursday yall! OK so some help give me a glossary please of the abbreviations and what they mean??

I've seen DD, FD, FF i think? I don't know what these mean.

Today is my second fast day of the week, here is my menu

I'm trying to wait until 1 pm to eat. this will be hard.

Lunch
having 4 oz grilled chicken breast - 183 cal
cup of broccoli - 50 cals
1/2 cup uncle bens wild rice - 100 cals

yoplait greek 100 - 100 cals

dinner
lean cuisine fettuccine Alfredo - 260

that puts me at 693, i try to stay under 700 on fast days. i know the "diet" calls for 500 but this is what i do and it works for me im happy to be eating clean at least for lunch but for dinner the lean cuisine will have to do

im down to 216.0 from 219.8 on Monday so hoping to see 215 tom am or even 214!!! my goal is 210 or less by august 1st and im so close. that will put me right in line with my onederland goal by September!

Let's see. DD = Down Day (or your 500 calorie day)
FD = I Think it's either Fast Day or Feast Day depending but I use UD (Up Day)
FF = either Full Fat like full fat greek yogurt. Or Fat Fast which is an Atkins term for eating only high fat with little to no protein and 1000 calories & getting your fat percentage around 90 %. A pretty extreme measure and not something I would recommend though I do it, puts you immediately in ketosis and results in rapid weight loss I've done it for a max of 3 days but again not something I would recommend.

Lexi, you look fabulous, well done so far on your achievements!!!!!

Morning all,

Yesterday's non fasting day was so so. I had intended to eat a pork chop for dinner but life happened and I ended up eating a piece of cheese and some bolognese sauce from some horrendous gnocchi dish. The sauce wasn't great. At least I stuck with my intended LCHF foods, so not much damage done I hope!

Hope to have a good day fasting today.

Won't be here on the weekend, off to visit my parents in Holland (I only live less than 3 hours drive away) so there will be radio silence!

Have a great weekend everyone, and see you on Monday!

xxx mims.

Finally Friday!

I had fun on the golf course yesterday. It was very hot, but I didn't really mind it. My team came in 3rd! It was an UD and I did ok. Didn't eat a lot as the extreme heat kind of zaps my appetite.

Off to boot camp in a few minutes. I'm looking forward to a lazy day tomorrow. DH is going away for the day and I'm not playing golf, so I'll just be puttering around the house all day. Love it! Sunday I'll be back to the golf course.

I'm not sure what my eating will be today. I think I'll fast until 1 or 2 and then have my yogurt. We'll go out for a bite tonight so I'll sort of have a mid calorie day I suppose.

Have a great weekend!

Morning ! My 2nd DD of the week netted me a tiny -.6 loss but that's because TOM came yesterday with a vengeance so I can't complain really.

This week I ended at 126.8 which is a tiny bit less than last week's 127.0. Will see after TOM leaves how I end up after my Monday's DD and I may add a 3rd DD next week but we'll see. Just happy today to be eating normal and even if tiny to see a downward trend which I hope carries over to next week !

Happy Friday Ladies !!

Good morning! I survived my second DD and am actually looking forward to the next one which will be Monday. I'm down in weight so I'm a little nervous about undoing all of my progress over the weekend, but I guess that's part of the program, right????

5/15 - 157.0
5/16 - 157.8 (DD)
5/17 - 156.2
5/18 - 155.6 (DD)
5/19 - 154.4

Good morning ladies, everyone is doing so good!

Thanks you mims and I hope you enjoy your visit with your parents. I got to visit with my Son yesterday, he's 48, nothing like seeing one of your babies.

Lori, girl you are an exercising machine, so awesome, I envy you. Enjoy your time alone

Wtg Pandora!

Pam, you are doing so good, weight going down and enjoying program!

I had a good day yesterday and today is my fun day, I'll be out and about. I cooked two large bone in chicken breasts in the slow cooker last night so I'm prepared food wise. I have a pkg of kale I need to cook up real fast to go with it. I'll fix Mr a big breakfast soon and pick him up something for dinner while I'm out as he doesn't eat chicken.

Have a good day!

Well, I blew my DD yesterday although I don't think I went completely nuts. I was scared to see the scale this morning (it's my official weigh in day for the week) but I was actually down a pound. I was so hungry yesterday and was starting to think that fasting isn't for me after all but after seeing the loss it motivated me to keep trying.

It's been 2 weeks and I've lost 4 lbs. I don't think a 2 lb loss per week will keep up but I would be happy to see 1 lb gone every week.

Morning all ! No DD for me until Monday but planning on trying a potato hack that I've been reading some of my hcg & juddd friends have been so successful at trying. Since this is my first time trying this will aim to do 3 days but hoping for 4 days. Still planning on doing 5:2 Mon DD, Tues/Wed UD & Thurs DD only difference potatoes only

My aim is that I am hoping to see the benefits others talk about in that they see more stability, less fluctuations when they eat normal or add carbs. It supposedly heals insulin resistance and people see some nice drops on it. For example on Father's Day I had a small rack of baby back ribs with no bbq sauce, green beans and a small really half a portion of sweet potato casserole. I ate no bread, drank no alcohol. Had a small lc breakfast & dinner was protein & salad. I still gained 3.5 lbs

This March I had a weekend where I had family in town and son's school/church fair. I drank a few beers, had some fair food, ate pizza and ate out every day and while not great but not binging either. I gained 7 lbs !

Even on the 5:2 my body fights me to try and regain the weight I've lost if I'm not vigilant. Honestly I am 100 % OK staying with this WOE and just watching what I eat and having an occasional indulgence and then taking care of it. I have found that I love my foods and really it's not a struggle it's just how I eat and I enjoy it. But that being said it would just be nice to not have to constantly be adding a DD or always "doing something" to maintain or gasp lose a few more. That I can go out to eat at a restaurant and relax and have a dessert and a glass of wine and not worry about how this one meal will affect me for the rest of the week, because it will.

So I will report on my experimenting ladies !! I hope to see my low numbers like the first few weeks of 5:2 which were 123-124.

Awesome Jiggles on your weight loss, I know that made your day! Good luck with your potato hack Pandora. I'd like to do that but too scared I'd start the carb cravings again.

I had a fun day yesterday, decided to pick up bbq, I ate that instead of my chicken. Just meat, that's all.

We woke up early this morning, Mr wanted ham and eggs so I fixed his breakfast, I went back to bed and slept until lunch. Felt so good.

I hope everyone has a good weekend!

What a day I had yesterday. All I did was sit and eat! My golf foursome didn't play and I was about half depressed. A nice summer day & I wasn't on the golf course!

Anyway, I ate all manner of crap and feel like crap too. My goal for the coming week is to try to stay pretty low carb, even on feast days. There is a forum I follow and a girl from Greece is doing 5:2(her own version). She does 2 days of Dukan Attack(which is pure protein) and 2 DD's, then 3 UD's. She's having good luck with it. I'm not sure how she spaces out the days, but I may give it a try. At the beginning of the year I lost 25 lbs doing Dukan. I really want 5:2 to work, but I'm not having much luck. I think its going to be great for maintaining for me, but I need to get back on the losing train!

I'm off to the golf course today. Hope you enjoy whatever you do!

Pandora, good luck with the potato hack and you're experiment!

Scales, the BBQ meat sounds good. Nice that you got to go back to bed for extra sleep!

Lori, have fun golfing today! Glad you are getting in the course. I'm sure that will cheer you up!

We have a family get together today. Hopefully the weather cooperates.

Thanks PANDORA for sharing your experience with hcg maintenance. I have had much the same history of gains and having to keep calories in a very low range.

Am doing my first dd today and uncomfortable about the weekly weighing thing. Need to drop 6 I've gained. Do you find you can just do the typical VLC Simeon daily exchanges as your DD or do you have to track calories?

This is my experience on hcg. I kept at it before 5:2 and to keep my weight within my "happy range" not the 2 lbs range. So I ended my last round 122.0 to keep under 128 I would need to eat no more than 1400 calories a day ! I still would end up every Friday doing a CD. I also was still eating P3, no lc goodies, no coconut oil, very very low carb, little berries etc. Itwas very frustrating and I was getting scared of eating and food. Not a good place to be.

When I found the 5:2 plan I have been able to eat more !! I am no longer scared of food. I find I enjoy my food more and have so much less stress. I have been able to add back sugary fruits, lc treats, tons of veggies & still eat my good fats. I don't count calories on UD but I do IF (16/8, I eat in an 8 hour window). I also occasionally have a splurge meal. Now I do keep an eye on trends. My main number is the 2nd DD. If I see an upward trend I take care of it either by adding another DD or doing "something".

My DD I do track calories but I've tried several menus. I just stick to what will give me the most bang for my buck on the scale. I have done zero GY all day or only protein or even only fruit etc. Butthe key for me is I just go with what will get me through the day as painlessly as possible. I look at this plan as a WOE and I need to make it manageable and livable so I can keep doing it forever if need be. Which is why HCG while I love the results it gave me I can never do another round. The thought of 500 calories for 21 days and the restricted foods and then Maintenance and the headaches of introducing foods keeps me on the straight and narrow, kwim

5:2 is a great plan ! This plan has helped me learn patience which on HCG we are used to quick losses, quick results. This plan is very very forgiving while HCG isn't. You can add DD or change your DD and switch it to suit you. Good luck

Hello. I haven't posted since around July 4th week. Gained about 4 pounds that week mostly from drinking beer I think. So anyway it took me over a week to get that down. So now I think I am back on track but having doing a JUDD for the past two weeks then. I hope to go back to 5:2 as I think JUDD is just too restricting with every other day a down day. So today was a DD and If I brave it start the 5:2 again this week.

Welcome newbies.

Boy it just doesn't take much to push me over the edge weight wise. I guess no more beer.

Haven't tried a potato hack but am anxious to see how you do with that. Hopefully if it helps with your weight fluctuations and will try it. Scared to death of eating potatoes though.

So today was a DD and If I brave it start the 5:2 again this week.

Beer is not my friend It makes me gain like no other. I am still scared of alcohol, I guess I make very poor food choices when I drink. Last time I drank was Mother's Day lunch & I had 1 1/2 glasses of Pinot Grigio. Something I would like to be able to enjoy again every once in a while but we'll see. I was scared to death of the potato hack myself but several hcger's had great success like Dawn & Shelbyla so I am going to brave it. I also was scared of juddd before hcg so nothing ventured nothing gained.

If I can weigh in on Fri & see 123-124 I will be one very happy girl for sure ! I noticed my fluctuations are getting smaller just by being on 5:2 for 2 months. I have also learned that my first 3 weeks I was having small but steady downward trends but then week 4 I started going up and I just let it go thinking it would even out (well it didn't). So now if I see 2 weeks in a row of upward results then I will "do something" which for me can be a 3rd DD, add an FF day or hopefully if the PH works add some PH DD. But the key for me is I need to stay vigilant and never give up. This WOE is very accommodating I am finding and very forgiving not like HCG. It is definitely something I can do permanently though I would love one day to get to 6:1, I honestly don't see that happening any time in the near future for me. We'll see how the PH goes & I'll keep everyone posted.

There are those that just do PH DD they find they get better losses & more overall stabilization and don't get hungry as much I am really hoping that is the case. Not that I want to see huge losses just get back to my early numbers of 123-124 vs my last 4 weeks of 126-127.

Morning all!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Mine was lovely, fantastic weather and it was nice to see my parents and relax a bit there.

After two free days, my weight is the same as Friday morning, so I'm happy! Nothing gained. Today I'm fasting, and huuuunnnngggrrryyyyyy! Going to have a green tea, maybe that will help!

On the beer, I gain lots when I drink it.... I love beer, but I had to let it go...

On the PH, I can't even risk this. I am trying to stay as low carb as possible on my UD, carbs send my cravings and binging into freefall, so I will never know if this works or not!

Have a good day everyone,

xxx

Monday again and a DD for me. Sitting here at 5AM & I'm hungry already! I'm off to boot camp in a few minutes. That usually kills my appetite for a few hours!

Watching to carbs this week to try to post a loss. Good luck this week everyone!

5:2 works !!!

Just got my blood work results & I can say with all certainty this plan improves your health. I had blood work through a wellness plan at work Nov. 2012 and this past Thurs July 2013.

here are my my numbers from Nov & then July :

Waist 32 in 29 in
BP 124/81 102/70
HDL 44 62
Trig 63 44
LDL 129 111
CHOL to HDLC ratio 4.2 2.9
Glucose 87 74

I improved in every single area & it's not about weight loss since per my weight log on that day in Nov. I was 132 & when I did the most recent test I was 127 so only 5 lbs difference.

This plan definitely works & I am a firm believer now in the health benefits.
