Twice this week I have worn sweaters that I haven't worn for years because they used to suck fast to my muffin top. Now I can wear them and feel good!

I may try a pair of new jeans tomorrow. Hmmm........that could backfire on me if they don't fit well! No guts, no glory, right?

Have a good one!
i hope those pants fit!!!

No worries Lexi. All your hard work will pay off in the end. Don't put so much pressure on yourself to see a certain number on the scale. You're doing great!

I'm still hanging in there with my MM plan. Week 4 of Step 1 starts on Monday. Hard to believe that I'm nearly halfway thru the first step! Still have the Holidays to get thru......

I'm playing golf this weekend. Thank goodness a couple lite beers are allowed on this plan!

Have a great weekend, no matter what that number on the scale said!

Hi all!!

Will post soon as I get back on track and write out my plan. I have nothing but social events coming up, but WILL start on my 5:2 plan with my first 'fast' day being Monday.. Trying to wean some of the sugar and carbs (tequila sunrises, martinis, desserts and much more) out of my body so that I can get to neutral. There's no way to go from 1,000carbs/5,000 calories a day to 50/1,500 without wanting to jump off a bridge!

For those on FB, there are some very busy forums going on 5:2.. message me if you'd like some links..

Just stopping by to check on you all! Hope you're having a great weekend!

I just got back from a 2.5 mile run with the husband. I'm supposed to play golf in a couple hours if the rain stays away. Yesterday was a beautiful day on the golf course. In mid November! Sweet!

Staying right on plan and feeling quite thin this morning. I wore a Tec shirt to run this morning that used to make me feel like a stuffed sausage, but I was quite comfy in it....even had some room to spare.

Have a great Sunday!

READY - SET- GO!!

Updated my journal page with my 5:2 plan. I am so ready to begin! Today is a normal day and tomorrow my first fast day. I have a plan!! Today I'll be cooking a very low cal/low carb sweet and sour cabbage soup that I LOVE to help with the fast day cravings. Today, making a brisket (yum) and will take it easy and within the 2,000 calorie allotment.

I'm active on all the 5:2 forums out there and it really helps to have so many people around the world doing this. I had no idea it is as popular as it is.

I hope everyone else is doing well!

YAY Judy! Planning is so important! I'm sure you'll be very successful.

I had to weigh in at boot camp this morning as part of the challenge, so I weighed on my home scale before I went so I could compare. After 3 weeks on Met Miracle, I'm down 5 lbs. It actually feels like more, just as Diane(the author) said it would!

I'm so anxious to reach my goal, but slow and steady wins the race. I'm quite sure 5:2 will be my maint plan.

Have a good day everyone!

Good Morning!

Hope you're feeling better today Lexi, after your fast day. Don't be too hard on yourself..you are awesome!

Judy..hope your fast day went well too!

My days kind of just go one into the next. Really not tempted to eat things not on my plan. I'll have to reread my MM book sometime in December in preparation for Step 2. I am required to add back some carbs every so many hours, so I want to have a handle on what I'll eat. I think I will use fruit for quite a bit of my carb requirement.

Hope you're having a great day!

I survived and hope Lexi did, too! Lori, I so look forward to the day when I can say I am not tempted! Good for you!

I am on a ton of other forums on the internet about 5:2.. The comments there are how amazing it is that most of the people following the plan are outside the U.S. Not many people here have heard of it.. A few on Dr. Oz, or through a friend. But, almost everyone is from the UK on the other forums. It's fun to hear how they refer to things!

Onto having my breakfast. I think it'll be leftovers from a few days ago, because I hate to toss out food. All LC and mostly healthy though!

Have a good day!

Good going Lexi! The rest of that weekend weight will be gone in no time. Just do what you do!

I'm feeling very tired today as boot camp was just horrendous. But......I made it thru and I am stronger for it!

The mental toughness that we learn in boot camp is really helping me stick to my eating plan. I keep reminding myself that I am not only doing this for weight loss, but to keep from going down the diabetes road. I really am determined to stay healthy if I have anything to say about it!

Keep the faith ladies!

I'm sure you'll have a great weigh in on Friday Lexi! Good for you for hitting boot camp.....awesome workout!

I'm taking tomorrow off work to just putter around the house. Looking forward to a day of doing whatever I want! I guess I should hit boot camp in the morning.......then I won't feel so guilty about sitting around all day!

Have a good one!

Hi girls, and keep up the good work! I am hanging in there during my 1st week... Fasting Day 2 is here.. I woke up late, which helps the day go faster! Today's menu - just at 500 cal:

Chai tea with a little creamer- 20
Leftover green smoothie from yesterday-50
Egg white scramble w/broccoli and green onions, fajita seasoning - 50
Homemade cabbage soup - 100
1/4 C Black LC soy beans (added to food for bulk) - 60
Zucchini noodles with 1/4 Cup Bertolli Alfredo Sauce and 3 oz shrimp - 160
2 tsp MCT oil - 60 (spread out for satiety)

Didn't do too badly on the Tuesday and Wednesday "normal" eating days. I did not count calories. I did limit my AL and ate smaller portions. I am confident I came in around the suggested 2,000 calories for the day.

Plan to go do some water exercise soon.. onward!

Dipgal. sounds like a great menu!

take it or leave it but i recommend tracking your calories on your feast days too. At least that has really worked for me. BUT you can wait and see how your losing goes.

i eat a little more on fast days and a little less on feast days. around 700 on fast and 1500-1800 on feast. added together over 7 days and divided by 7 gives me a good deficit average. I've found that eating too little on feast days can be just as bad as eating too much so its good to keep track and know.

Good going girls!

Judy....could you share your cabbage soup recipe? It sounds like something I could enjoy on these cold winter days.

Lexi...when I was doing fasting I found it much easier to have 600-700 cals on my fast days and 1600 on feast days too. I know some people do only 200-300 cals on fast days, but that was just too low for me. Good luck with the scale this today!

I slept in till nearly 6 o'clock this morning! So much for boot camp! I guess I needed the rest more than exercise this morning.

Time for coffee!

I did fine on my 2nd fast day.. hardly any hunger.. Not sure why, but I'll take it. For now, I think I'll do the program as written and not count calories if I think I am eating normally. If I get out of hand on "normal" days and/or hit a stall then I'll certainly count calories OR tighten up on the carbs. I keep intending to be totally LC, but then some hash browns hit me in the face.. or something similar. Thanks for the suggestion Lexi. I have so much to lose... anything should help me lose in the beginning!

Today, a normal eating day, I have a special Wine luncheon to attend with my friends, and then going out to dinner with DH. These are the days when "normal" ain't so normal! I think I'll "mod" tomorrow at about 1,000 cals.

Next week we'll be going out of town for a casino getaway Wedns-Sat.. (We do that because we don't have family nearby).. I plan to fast on Monday and then on Sat when we are driving home (takes all day). That's another reason I think I am going to play around and do a "mod" day on Saturday.

Lori, my cabbage soup is Sweet and Sour Cabbage Soup. You can use any sweetener you wish (Splenda, Stevia, etc.) It tastes Jewish Deli style. Does that still sound good to you? I developed the recipe 15 or so years ago when I was doing Weight Watchers and reminded myself how much I loved that soup when I'd go to the Jewish style restaurants. It was ZERO points, so I used it to fill me up between meals. I don't have it typed up, but if it still sounds good to you I'll type it up. I've been meaning to post it anyway!

Have a good day girls!!

The recipe does sound good! Post it when you get a minute Judy.

Congrats on the loss Lexi!

I took the day off work and didn't do much. I blew off boot camp and just ran some errands this morning. I did some laundry and just tinkered around. I did do 2.5 miles on the treadmill to get a bit of exercise.

I munched my way thru the day, but stayed on plan. Cheese & nuts when I just had to have something to eat.

Going shopping with some friends tomorrow. Have a nice weekend!
