Not really I was working out at home 3x a week but since I've been home taking care of DH who had recent brain surgery I don't have time to exercise at all. But I figure with doing 100 % everything I am getting a lot of activity some days more than others.

Once everything settles down I'll add back in my exercise routine. I try not to go over 1600 cal on my UD.

I had a bigger gain this morning. Up .6. I don't know why this is happening but it isn't good. I really want to be at 120 so would like to lose this creeping up weight. So that is 3.4 pounds I need to get down. I did this last round of hcg to lose 10 pounds, which I didn't quite make it to on my LDW. Well tomorrow is going to be a DD for me no matter if I do JUDD or 5:2 or what.

I could imagine you are pretty busy. Hope he is recovering well. I ahven't started counting calories on feast days yet. I will in about a week or so. I want to get used to cutting the caloreis and then I'll start counting and cutting.

Sherry- Are you drinking lots of water? Just trying to think of what it could be.

I only have baout 130 calories left for today /, I had a bigger lunch ,but hopefully that will hold me for a while.

I ask about workout because I'm struggling to run on fast days and wasn't sure if other people were feeling the same way.

Mercy pandora, I hope he will be okay I know it's stressful for you.

I had a good dd yesterday and a good up lunch today, hanging in and positive. My weight fluctuates too. I just hope it keeps going down.

So after the first two DD days I have felt like I could eat an entire doughnut shop, but not this morning. I made my breakfast and barely ate a 1/3 of it before I felt stuffed. The scale is about
.5 from my last DD day.

How is everyone else doing?

Tomorrow I'm doing my 3rd DD and today I was up +.8 after my feast day yesterday which is pretty good since I had my usual breakfast & lunch but dinner I ate more than usual & had 2nd helpings of low carb ground beef lasagna, snack was a bag of Just the Cheese and dessert was some 0% Greek Yogurt & berries I was expecting a much higher # today. What I am beginning to wonder if I was too low on calories on my feast days since this is the lowest jump I've had and the most I've eaten Something to think about.

I do think the calorie spread makes the difference on ud,dd. I was suppose to do a dd today but I had a dd Tuesday and yesterday I got so busy I only ate about a 1000 calories so I'm going to do an ud today. I'm also eating within an 8 hour window.

Do you think the 8 hours matters that much? Is it worth trying? We are traveling soon and I don't see my self fasting, but we will see what I can do.

Yes, it matters for me and yes it's worth it, not eating after 8 p.m. is good for me. It's control over food and puts food in it's place and that is major. Good luck on your decision.

Trying a little experiment & will post tomorrow & the day after. The reason I am trying it is because I was thinking of going to 4:3 to see if I can see a more downward trend but really don't want to do 3 DD every week. So for me prior to 5:2 when I needed to lose water/inflammation I would eat an entire container of full fat Greek yogurt all day with berries & Equal and lots of coffee with HWC and the next day guaranteed I would lose the water/inflammation.

So I'm doing that today & don't feel any of the hunger or discomfort at all. I weighed in yesterday (feast day) and was up another +.8 to 127.4. So will post my results tomorrow & then do a regular DD and then back to normal eating. I'm thinking if this works I will do 2 DD, 4 regular eating day & 1 Greek yogurt day every week. I started this WOE 123.8 and my first week after 3 DD was at 125.8. Would like to get back to my 123-125 happy range and if I can maintain and get the health benefits will be happy.

Again this is my "experiment" based on what I know works for me so wish me luck

good luck! If all I ate was yogurt my stomach would swell up like I was 6 months prego. I love dairy.... it doesn't love me lol.

Isn't that weird what works for someone doesn't for someone else ? I learned what I can & can't have when I did the HCG diet. Greek yogurt makes my tummy feel wonderful. I have it every day ! When I do the all day Greek yogurt and I have inflammation I go to the bathroom all day almost like a diuretic. I can have cheese but in moderation but large quantities of GY is fine

Greek Yogurt day done & down 3 lbs this morning to 124.4. Today doing a normal 500 cal DD. My menu is left over fruit salad from DS class party for breakfast & lunch. Dinner will be a mahi mahi filet and cucumber salad. Then tomorrow back to regular eating !! Not sure if I'll do this modified plan every week or just add the GY day every other week. We'll see how I see the weigh in after the next 2 DD & if I see a down ward trend.

I think once you're at goal weight this is a much slower process but still a much better WOE than trying to figure it out on your own.

Starting my 3rd week and doing a DD today. I noticed that my tweak of the plan last week is too hard mentally (I had done 3 UD, 2 DD and 1 Greek Yogurt day). What happened is after my GY day I dropped 3 lbs & the next day I did a DD and was really hungry that day.

So for now sticking to the original plan of 5:2 with no modifications. I have noticed that the fluctuations are getting smaller as the weeks go on. I am today after 2 UD 125.6 when my last DD I was 124.2. Still weighing daily & I'm not as freaked out about the scale since it will go down. But I find I am learning a lot about my body & this WOE. So for me it's working as I'm within my preferred range 123-125. But I don't see how I could actually lose weight though Unless I did JUDDD or 4:3 or restrict my calories substancially on the 5:2. Maybe to be honest since I am fairly low in my weight and have been dieting for so long that this is a WOE for maintenance and not a way to lose weight. Again these are my personal observations.

I would "like" to get to my lowest weight where I ended my HCG dieting of 121-122 but I don't want to get there that badly that I will do more DD. The DD are doable and some days are much easier than others. My last DD was just plain hard but I got through it. Today's DD is ok but I keep telling myself that I can eat for the next 2 days

scalestepper I know how hard it is ! Hang in there & just change up your DD when you're more up to it. I'm having one of those days that I'm like "are you going to be able to keep this up forever ?" I have noticed that my UD fluctuations are getting smaller. I'm hoping once I'm more set or comfortable I may be able to transition to 6:1 but I want to see for a few months were this WOE gets me.

Here is an example of my last 3 weeks of fluctuations on the 5:2 diet to put things in perspective as to the big picture. It's hard but I have to learn to be OK with the daily ups & downs and not overly freak out. I know it's harder to actually follow through on this. But this particular WOE is helping me deal with the daily variances. There are so many things affecting our weight that have nothing to do with food : tom, hormones, stress, lack of sleep, exercise, medication, inflammation etc.

Week 1
5/27 123.8
5/28 125.4 DD
5/29 124.6
5/30 123.8
5/31 128.4 DD
6/1 124.8
6/2 126.8

Week 2
6/3 126.6
6/4 128.4 DD
6/5 125.8
6/6 126.6

Agreed pandora on weight fluctuations, and I think IF/5:2 is definitely the way to go for me.

I think this is going to be a good DD, I think I had to get a good FD in for it to work. Anyhoo, hope we have a good one.

I'm happy to report I had a good DD yesterday, it's good to get back in the swing of things. I am still satisfied with the 8 hr IF and lc. As long as that stays in place, I'm ok. I'm not losing but I'm not gaining so that's a plus. It is what it is. Time will pass...

Ok. I'm ready to start. I had posted back a week or two as I was contemplating doing the 5:2. I feel that maintenance after doing hcg is not really working. Not surprised really since I had the same issues before and tried JUDD and that worked for maintenance until I totally derailed. So that brought me back to doing hcg to lose 30 pounds I gained back. But I'm thinking that JUDD and fasting every other day just is not something I want to do again. I will if need be but this sounds so much more doable. I'm going to try starting tomorrow. I wanted to start during the week but with my weight trying to creep up I want to get a stop on that sooner rather than later.

3rd week almost done & Monday I start week 4 & so far so good. Getting used to the daily UD fluctuations and my DD have finally gotten me lower than I started but well within my range of 123-125. I am finally beginning to believe that in a few weeks I'll even be lower & MAYBE I can change my range to 120-123

Thanks. I did my first DD today. Ate about 350 calories. Wasn't so bad. Of course with having done JUDD before I know about DD's. Hopefully this will work for me. I would love to lose about 4 pounds hopefully. Then maintain. So I will see where this gets me. I think I can handle 2 DD's a week better than every other day as in JUDD. I plan on Monday and Thursday being my DD's but wanted to get started today. That will mean only one UD then another DD but I think that should be ok.

IF, anyone eat within a window of time ?

Just reading some other threads about IF and eating within a window of time everyday. Some people do 5 hours or 8 hours. Anyone do that already ? I was wondering if that might be something I can incorporate into this WOE.

It wouldn't be such a stretch since I don't eat past 7 pm & usually have dinner between 5 to 6 pm. So 8 hour window would be 10 am to 6 pm. I do get to the office at 7 am but I can get by with coffee and delay breakfast for a few hours if I need to. It's also suggested 7 to 10 min of exercise first thing in the morning. I can get in 10-15 min. on my exercise bike first thing in the morning. Just wondering if adding this would help with the losses on the 5:2 plan

I'm thinking of trying it and see if it helps since I would like to see 120-123 but since I'm not in a "rush" to get there I really don't want to add another DD. Still reading and haven't decided yet.

Any thoughts ?

Ok ive got to grt back on 5:2. Have been fast 5 but not been on plan for about a week. I start back to work doing a physically demanding job so idk how I can only eat in 5 hrs. So going to try 5:2 again.

Morning ladies! Back from vacation and fasting today. I weighed in expecting to see something horrible since I haven't fasted in a week and it wasn't up at all!!!! So excited makes me more determined to fast today.

How is everyone else doing? Since I ate what I wanted for a week should I fast 3 days this week or do you think 2 would be fine? Down 3.2 since starting this and that is with a week of eating on vacation. yeah.

I had a good weekend, new week for me today, I lost some inches last week but no lbs. I am still eating the 8 hour IF too, that really helps with the control issues for me. I only try for 2 DD a week.
