Good morning!

Omgoodness, I'm holding this fairy hostage, down another 2.4 to 191.6. I weighed on both scales, to make sure it was right.

I'm so glad you're having a good time Lori, I'll trade with you!

Hope for another good day!

Wonderful Cathy!

I am up to 131 after an outrageously indulgent few days. This is not the plan.

Thank you Cindy!

It's wonderful to know you have the plan to both enjoy and also take care of those days isn't it!

Cathy!! How wonderful! You must be over the moon. If you could just send the whoosh fairy to my place for a few days...I'd appreciate it!

Cindy...I have had too many indulgent days as well. Let's get back on track this week!

I plan to give it a good 4 days and then we're off to the Delaware shore for the weekend. Our 10 year old grandson in playing in a baseball tournament at the shore. How fun! We will be eating some yummy seafood, that much is certain. 2 weeks after that trip, I'm going to my sister's for the weekend to attend....wait for it......a chocolate festival!!!!! 4 days after that, she and I go to Virginia Beach for 5 days. Instead of losing more weight by year end, I'll be lucky to not gain 20 lbs! Sigh..... Oh well, life is short & I'm lucky to have the chance to experience all these things. There will be plenty of time for dieting during the long, cold winter.

Ok...time for boot camp. Have a good day everyone!

Good morning!

Thank you Lori I was/am thrilled to pieces, I'm the queen of slow on weight loss.

Sounds like so much fun in your future, you have good stamina, you will have a blast. Yes, life's too short to not enjoy all of that.

Have a good day!

Is this all there is to this plan? How do you determine your calorie count for the normal days? Thanks

Hi jeaniem!

Basically that's it, just pick any two days of the week and eat 500 or less calories. It also works well with any eating plan. In truth, I don't feel 5 days of eating anything (I )want would result in weight loss. I do know when I stay faithful with it, I eat less which is BIG.

I found lots of info at The 5:2 Diet In Action.

Anyway I can help, let me know.

My Monday didn't work out as planned. I ate with no thought to calories. I did manage to fast until 11AM and then all bets were off. I'm sure I didn't go over my TDEE, but I really needed a good fast day. Today's another day........all we can do is the best we can do, right?

Good morning!

All my days don't work out either Lori, wtg Cindy! I love the magic of fast days!

I experimented with a can of beans and 2 oz of whole kernel corn in some taco soup yesterday, I ate 2 cups. It didn't cause my blood sugar to spike but I do have a 1 lb bounce but it was worth it.

I began today's fast last night, I hope we all have good days!

Do you personally count calories on the non fasting day?

Not anymore, at first I did, I entered everything in a food program on the internet Now I just try to keep my feast day calories within WW pp, it's easier that way for me. I think a wwpp usually averages about 50 calories. Fast days for me are 10 or less pp, feast days are 26+ mainly low carb.

3 or more days a week, I don't eat past 8 p.m. or before 12:00 noon the next day, having an 16/8 hour window. I don't like to go to bed hungry so I begin my days at dinner each night and end my day the following night. I do my fast and feast days the same way, keeping dinner basically the same and usually making up the additional feast day calories up at lunch. I learned this from pooticus and it's really helped me manage fast days.

I am much the same, I seldom count on my UDs but when I do I usually not far off my numbers, unless too much wine is involved.

Cathy & Cindy...you are my heroes! This week is just not working out for fasting. I have decided I will concentrate on being active this week and not going crazy with eating, and then start my proper 5:2 next week. We are going to the shore for the weekend and that will be my last hurrah. This is one of those weeks where there is something going on every evening and work is stressful with us being 2 people short in the office. Just can't seem to wrap my head around fasting. I know, excuses, excuses!

Don't give up on me ladies......I'll get with the program next week...I promise! Meanwhile, keep up the good work!

Good morning!

I hope your week levels out for you Lori, sometimes we just have to cut ourselves some slack don't we. Take care and have fun this weekend and see you Monday, I will miss you.

Another busy but good day for me, I am having my house cleaned top to bottom, time to declutter. Yesterday my helper did the livingroom, washed curtains, etc. Today is the kitchen/dining. I never believed I could get so worn out watching and then there's papers/stuff that only I can go through. Anyhoo, I am glad it's getting done.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Just dropping in to wish you all a great weekend! DH and I are heading out for our run in a few minutes and then its off to the Delaware shore! Long drive for a couple days, but it'll be fun.

I'll see you Monday when I'll be ready for a good fast day. I'll get in a couple good weeks before my next adventure.....a chocolate festival with my sister! Then a few days after that, we're off to VA Beach for 5 days. My fat cells are excited about the month of October!

Have a great weekend!

I hope your weekend was fun Lori!

I hit a speed bump with a uti Thursday so it was off to the Dr Friday and meds this weekend. Feeling better and had a good fast day yesterday.

Hi Everyone!

Cathy...sorry you had to deal with a UTI over the weekend. I know how miserable they are! Glad you're feeling better today.

We had a nice weekend, but feel like I spent most of it in the car! It was fun to see our grandson playing baseball. The team didn't fare too well, but they had fun and got some experience.

My fast day today is going well so far. I've only had about 160 calories and it's after 1PM already. I just have to plan my evening well. The scale was up this morning, as predicted, but I feel like it'll be down a couple lbs tomorrow as I've been shedding water at a rapid rate today...IYKWIM. I'm getting lots of steps in running back and forth to the little girls room anyway!

Really rough boot camp session this morning. If I feel the need tonight, I may allow myself an extra 100 calories. I think I probably burned about 500 this morning!

Hope your Monday went well!

Hump day!! I've been busy at work this week, so the days are flying by. I had a good fast day on Monday and was rewarded with 3 lbs less on the scale yesterday morning. I didn't weigh in this morning, but it's a fast day today and I'll step on the scale in the morning and see how it's looking.

Off to boot camp in a few minutes. Wonder what the "torture of the day" will be?

Hope you're having a good week!

wtg!

I've have gotten off my routine since last week and my fast nor feast days are as easy so for my fast day today, I began it at dinner last night. For some reason that just works better for me. From 8 last night until 4 or 5 this afternoon will be my fast day and then a 3 hour wait until my next dinner.

I have been eating more carbs, not bad ones, no sugar or junk, just more and I need to clean my act up to get the weight moving again. When I went to the Dr. last Friday, I had lost 4 lbs since my appointment in August so that was a good feeling.

Thinking of the upcoming holidays and how I need to mentally work on myself. I have my Halloween candy bought for the trick or treaters, giant lollipops, they always get so excited over those and it's no problem for me.

Have a good day!

This menu schedule was posted by Sophiethecat for the Muddding (slang for mixed up diet tweeking Juddd fasting hours) that PrivateJenny was experimenting with back in 2011 I think. I think it's an awesome tool to plan with. The Bold being feast meals and vice versa Fast meals. I'm not sure if anyone does this but it's sure easy to pick a fast meal schedule one can stick with. Just my opinion.

Interesting schedule Cathy. I'd have to figure out the calories for each Fast meal and see how I could work it out.

I had a miserable day yesterday. Boot camp was brutal and then I fasted until 11 as usual. I just felt SO tired and achy all day. I don't know if it was from the exercise or if I had a "bug". As a result, I abandoned my fast and ended up eating stuff I shouldn't have. Anyway, I'm not sure I can continue with 500 calorie fast days with all the exercise I do. I either have to allow more calories on the Fast days or go back to 1500 or so calories each day. I think I'll continue doing 16:8 most days as I really don't mind that. We'll see. October is going to be an odd month as I have a weekend trip next week and then I'll be away for 5 days at the beach with my sister the following week. I guess I'll just try to keep any gains to a minimum and then figure out what I'm going to do when I get all my trips over with.

I'd like to keep posting here and cheer you all on. Even if I'm not doing strict 5:2, I'll pop in here to see how you're doing!

hiya!

Oh man, sounds like a bad day for sure Lori, hope you are feeling better. I've never done a bootcamp nor hard exercise like you and I can see why the calories would need to be increased. I've used Johnson calculator and always just plug in no exercise. I hope you can find a balance and I hope you keep posting!.

I also like 16/8, I like the control it gives me. I mostly like that I've learned I don't have to eat all the time and I can learn to deal with hunger.

I had a good fast day yesterday and a good feast dinner last night. I realize I'm only getting in a 24 hour fast day but I can handle this with my bs so far. It's not always easy nor perfect and my calories are not always on the mark. I just do what I can do. Give me a cup of broth with some sprinkles of gluc powder and most of the time, I'm good to go for a few hours.

I've cleaned out the freezer portion of my refrigerator and 2 utensil drawers this morning so I'm making progress. Mental note....always write date and what's in the freezer bags.

I hope we have a good day!

Good Morning!

Feeling better this morning. I took the morning off from exercise since we have our 5k race tonight. I'm going to eat well today & then just have a light snack a few hours before the 5k. I'm hoping to come in under 40 minutes...fingers crossed.

I'm reading a new book called "The Metabolism Miracle" and am anxious to get into it. I tried to read it last evening, but kept falling asleep. I have it on my kindle, so I can read it on my PC at work today if I have any down time. So far it seems very interesting.

Off to the golf course tomorrow morning. Supposed to be a lovely day.

Have a great weekend!

Hi all, I didn't read all 18 pages of this thread (on page 2) but this plan seems a mellower version of JUDDD, which I am doing. I may look further into this plan when I hit my JUDDD goal though I do like the every other day-ness of JUDDD. Off to read more replys, I like reading success stories and following the progress.
