Well, we made it thru another Monday. I had a bit of a hungry day, but stuck to mostly protein. I did eat a few carbs for dinner, but not a boat load.

DH and I are both up early this morning and we'll go out for our little 5k training run about 5:30. I hope we're ready for our 5k on Oct 4th! We won't quite get thru the whole C25k program, but we'll do ok.

DH is taking the cat to the Vet for her annual check up today. I'll help him stuff her in the carrier before I leave for work. I'm hoping she doesn't go hide somewhere where we can't find her.....they have a way of knowing something is up! I brought her carrier down to the kitchen last night and she's been eying it up.

Have a good day!

Good morning!

Late getting into bed last night so I was late getting up, those afternoon naps are schedule killers but feel so good.

Yesterday was a good, busy day. I had errands to run early and I found a fruit stand with some wonderful tomatoes.

My plants I planted in July are struggling in the heat but the ones I sprouted in August are doing good so maybe I'll have some good ones in a month or so.

I saw where we only have like 12 more days until Autumn,
I finally have my hunger monster in tow I think. Yesterday I cooked salmon croquettes and they were good but my salmon quality wasn't nearly as good as when I use Vita Choice canned salmon. I need to order more. I'm still cooking low carb so I only added egg, a little parm cheese and oat fiber, no bread crumbs and we can't tell the difference.

Today is hamburger day but I'm not hungry for one and definitely don't want the bun but I'll won't say anything when Mr brings us one in.

I hope everyone has a great day!

Looks like everyone is doing well this week. I had a stress eating day yesterday. DH took our 3 year old cat to the Vet for a check up and one of her canine teeth was broken! I had no idea. Anyway, it was on it's way to being infected as it was broken quite close to the gum line. She's having surgery today to remove it...they kept her overnight to start antibiotics. Can you believe it's going to cost $600 to have a cat's tooth pulled? It's always something.

Tonight we're going out to dinner with DH's cousin and some friends. His cousin's husband is in the hospital after having a stem cell transplant. He's been in the hospital for a week and will be there at least another week. He has multiple myeloma which is a blood cancer. When I think about what he's going thru, my struggle with some extra weight seems like nothing. Gotta keep things in perspective, you know?

Have a good Wednesday!

Good morning!

Lori, I'm sorry about your cat, wow, overnight, that's better insurance than I have and it's called Love I hope your dinner goes good, I'm sure that will be difficult.

Wtg Lexi eating clean and working out!

Well, I got lucky yesterday at lunch with the hamburger, Mr forgot his cell phone so he came home before getting the burgers as we usually get an extra patty for the puppies and he needed to know if he needed to get that so whew, I told him I wasn't hungry and he settled for hot dogs for himself. I made an egg drop soup that satisfied me until dinner.

I hope everyone has a good day!

OMG...what a day! My cat came thru surgery ok, but I didn't get to pick her up. They said we couldn't get her until 5:30 so that meant I couldn't go along to dinner with DH etc.

I normally leave work at 4:30, but we had a BAD T-storm and our building took a lightning strike. I work for an electric company and as you can imagine, t-storms cause all manner of problems. We had a few people out of service and had to call in a line crew. They had power restored in a short time, but our computer systems took a hit. We couldn't leave until they had things sorted out so we could have our call center take over the phones for any emergency calls that might come in. Anyway, I was there until 7, so I had to call the Vet and tell them I couldn't get my baby until this morning. They said there would be no extra charge to let her there another night, but I hated to do it. It was probably for the best as I hate to see them when they are still "dopey" from anesthesia. I don't have to go in to work until 11:30 this morning since I had overtime last night. I'll go to boot camp, come home and get a shower & then pick up Gabby at 9. I have no idea what I'll find when I get to work, as our computers were not working very well when I left last night. I felt bad for our IT guy.....he was "spinning" last night trying to figure out what to do.

Well....sorry for that book I just wrote! You didn't need my life story, did you?

Maybe I'll get back to dieting one of these days!

What a few days you have had Lori, my cats are due for their check ups next week. They are 13 and 12, seem really healthy though.

First fast day in ages! Had friends staying and have seriously eaten badly. So bloated, it feels horrid.

Good morning!

Nothing exciting going on in my abode. I'm still doing the usual. Today is a fast day. Last night I made a "light version"recipe of Butonni's sp? chicken and dumplings so I'll have that today. No butter, no cream, just plain made with 1 small chicken breast.

I was reading some old threads last night about Muddding. Threads like that always inspire me to maintain my fasts and IF.

Let's make it a good day!

Good morning!

I hope your world is better this morning Lori!

I had a good fast day yesterday, really had no appetite. I love that about low carb.

Not sure what my plans are today, I twisted my knee yesterday and I'm not getting around so good.

I don't know if anyone read the Muddding threads but I thought it was very interesting and probably the closest I could do to Juddd. So, I just settle for 5:2 and IF. Every time I read something new, I learn something positive. I am very happy with my health progress as well as weight loss so far and it gets easier every week.

I'm not superstitious but if you are, I hope your Friday, 13th is safe and good!

Well, no surprise, the scale was up 2.5 lbs this week. Sigh.........do you suppose I'll ever get my head screwed on straight? For some reason, I just cannot seem to make sticking to my eating plan a priority. I have the exercise component in place, just have to reel in the eating thing! One of these days!

I'll be on the golf course all weekend, as usual. I won't know what to do with myself when golfing season comes to an end!

DH & I had a good 5k training run this morning. Our next one will be on Sunday morning before I head for the golf course.

My fur baby is doing well. She's her old lovey self & eating like a horse! Oh......and her internal alarm clock didn't get reset while she was at the Vet. She got me up at 4:15 this morning, as usual.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Monday!

Congrats on your loss Cathy...any downward movement on the scale is great!

We had a chilly day on Saturday on the golf course. I'm not a fan of having to be bundled up and trying to swing the club. I did ok though...I won the tournament! Yesterday I played with my friends and it was cold first thing in the morning, but warmed up nicely for the 2nd half of our round.

I'm feeling very puffy and bloated this morning. Too much beer and stuff I shouldn't have eaten. Going to do my best to have a proper fast day today. I'm off work tomorrow to play in our final ladies tournament of the year. I'm helping to run it, so I have to be up at the course around 11.

DH and I had a good training run yesterday. Tomorrow we have a challenging workout. We're doing C25k and tomorrow's workout is a 20 minute run with no walk breaks.

Have a good week my friends!

Good morning!

Sounds like you've had lots of fun and lots of exercise this weekend Lori, good for you!

I am excited, I am interviewing someone to help me with the house. I have debated doing this but why not? I hope it works out, I think Mr and I will enjoy it.

We had what was left of our garden plants taken down yesterday and the plot cleaned. I still have tomato plants in containers but I'm pretty much done with gardening for the year.

I wish my weight loss was faster but when I look at the big picture that I've lost over 50 lbs in a year, I am thankful. I don't think I'd be this far without 5:2/IF and definitely not without Atkins/low carb. I find myself drifting in and out of induction often and I actually enjoy it and I'm satisfied most days. One thing I do is read a lot about low carb and IF online and in the forum, it keeps me focused and motivated. I have also given up watching all of my food network programs, that only stimulates my appetite. Just trying to make it easier.

Mr is home most mornings this week, seems his domino buds have some medicial appointments and he has a dental. This is always easy for me as I just cook him a good breakfast and he's good to go until Dinner. Those are my easier fast days and I sometimes plan them around those days. We go through days where he eats what I do then days when he wants breads, etc so it all works out. I only have one hard fast rule for me, no sugar. I may have a hamburger bun ever week or so but that's pretty much the starchy things for me.

I hope everyone has a good day!

Good Morning!

We've made it to Wednesday! I'm up and ready(?) to go to boot camp. Feeling kind of tired today. We had our golf year end banquet last night, but it wasn't a late night...I was home by 7:30.

DH & I were feeling quite smug yesterday. We did our 5k training run in the morning & breezed right thru it. We were a bit worried as the plan called for running 20 minutes straight with no walk breaks. We weren't sure we could do it, but we both said we could have kept going longer than 20 minutes.

My eating is going ok. I feel kind of thin this morning, but didn't step on the scale. That just leads to depression and overeating lately. I'm trying not to focus on that # and just work on fitness & health.

Have a great day everyone!

I love 'thin' days. Often wise not to stand on the scale then as it can burst the bubble, lol.

Well done on the run, glad your feet are coping well.

Good to see everyone doing well. Me too. Have had a few extra healing days and am feeling better for it.

Good morning!

It's great to see everyone doing good and feeling positive!

I had a hungry day yesterday but didn't eat any carbs or sugar and all went good.

I watched my recording of the Dr Oz show which I guess was yesterdays show and he has finally begun to say we need to fast, seems events this year have changed his opinion. He's asking everyone to please just ...try...fasting, no eating before 8 a.m. and no eating after 8 p.m., 12 hours fasting. He says it blasts fat plus lowers cholesterol and inflammation. The medical world is catching up with us girls!

I hope everyone has a great day, let's stay strong!

Now that is good news from the land of Oz. I especially love to know that...

That is a real motivator. All I know is that I feel so much better since I started fasting.

Ugh...rough night. I had a mild gall bladder attack yesterday and I woke up at 2:30 this morning not feeling well. Add to that, I'm SO sore from our boot camp "legs" workout yesterday. Just ache from the waist down. Plus, my cat decided she needed to go outside at 2:30. She was standing ON my husband purring like a chainsaw. This is going to be a long day.

I'm glad there is more info coming out about the benefits of fasting. I sure feel better when I wait to eat till about 11. Yesterday I ate a granola bar right after boot camp and then a Greek yogurt with some nuts about 10...I think that's what got my gall bladder fired up. Sigh...live and learn.

Have a good day all!

Good Morning,

I had a rough day yesterday, but had a good night's sleep & feel better this morning. DH & I are going out for a little run this morning, hope I can keep up. Still kind of achy.

My sister is coming tonight and staying till Sunday. She lives about 2 hrs away. I'm looking forward to seeing her..we always have a good time together. We're looking forward to our sister bonding trip coming up next month. We're going to VA Beach for 4 days.

Ok...time for a cup of coffee before our run. Have a great day!

Way to go Cathy!! I'm quite sure that I'm finding all the weight you're losing, plus some! My sister and I ate our way thru the day yesterday. Everything from burritos to cupcakes and milkshakes and ending with Thai food.

I'm heading to the golf course this morning for a tournament and then I'll be home and we'll go out to eat before Sis leaves for home. I think we're going to a place that makes guacamole right at your table....so good. Geez...I better have 3 good fast days next week!

DH & I are heading out for a run this morning. Boy do I need it!
