Hello ladies,

I may join you, if that's okay. lexiann, I saw on that big WW thread (I may post there, too) where you're having success mixing up WW and 5:2 (can't remember if you're keeping carbs low or not though). I've done JUDDD and love it - but I'm not losing. I have in the past, but I've been back at it since mid-June and have only lost 4 lbs.

I've also done WW more times that I can count, but I thought maybe my body needs a continuous mixup of things. So, beginning today, I'm tracking points but staying lower carb (although I may have some fruit) and throwing 5:2 into the mix.

We shall see ...

It's all good though since I just wanted to maintain and have healthy numbers. Now it did improve my numbers dramatically, I mean double digit improvements all across the board

I also can maintain in the mid to high 120s on 5: 2 wthout too much effort or tweaking. My first 3 weeks I went dwon from 124.8 to 123.6 but then for 4 weeks I climbed up to 127.0 when I added back in exercise. I now know if I see an upward trend I need to add an extra DD and not let it go.

Since last week I've been going down and today at 125.6 so very happy about that ! So yes I can lose in very small increments but need to keep an eye on trends .
Thanks so much for your reply. When you talk about improvement in your numbers in double digits do you mean cholesterol and Glucose?

Hi everyone!

Sorry for the long absence, I have no excuses to not pop in after the weekend!

Lost a bit more, so my total loss is now 11.8lbs!

Very interesting that some of you have to keep UD calories low as well.
I do a total fast on my DDs and do this MO, WED, FRI and then have 4 UDs where I eat strictly LCHF only natural foods, no sweeteners but I don't worry about my calories. I pay attention to eat as LC as possible, eat plenty of fat and eat moderate protein. Although I don't lose pounds and pounds a week, my weightloss has been pretty steady after every DD. If I had to guess, I wouls say my UD calories are anywhere between 1800 and 2500. I only drink green tea and water with a pinch of celtic seasalt for minerals when I fast.

Due to the LCHF on my UDs I feel satisfied quicker and am now learning to tell if I'm hungry or if I'm satisfied. I find my food free DDs very liberating, and due to being in ketosis I don't feel overly hungry on those days. Works for me!

Today is my UD, so here's the menu:

B: turkish yogurt (10% fat) with mascarpone and a TB of almond butter. Handful of chiccharones (pork puffs)
L: homemade chicken broth with butter and seasalt. Chicken from broth with avocado and feta cheese
D: leftover food from Sunday: meatballs in a creamy sauce with cauliflower and then baked in the oven.

Have a great day everyone!

I had a so-so DD yesterday. I sort of combined 5:2 with Fast 5. Kept to a 5 hour eating window, but had almost 1000 cals. I also did a strenuous boot camp session yesterday morning. I'm thinking it will all balance out.

Today is going to be a LONG day. I got up at 3:15 to see DH off. He's going to the beach to spend a few days with the kids & grandkids at the beach house they rented. He has a 5 hour drive & I hate to see him go alone, but it's a bad time for me to get off work. I'll be heading to boot camp at 5:30, work a half day, and then play golf this afternoon/evening. I'll be walking all 18 holes. I think I'll sleep good tonight! Today will definitely be an UD as I'll need some calories to get thru all this activity!

Have a good day everyone!

Good for you. Love seeing how persistent you are in observing how your body reacts to different WOEs.

Had a disappointing DD on Sunday. More like 1100 calories. We were at the weekend place for three day holiday. I like the idea of the 5:2 and am happy to see you lose on it.

What is your calorie range on MDs? Trying to keep at 1, 000.

It depends if I do a Fat Fast day then yes only 1000, if I do a PH just eat until full on potatoes which I guess can average between 800-1000, on Protein only I really don't count just make sure no carbs. This is a new experiment I am trying to see if I can continue the downward trend. The first 3 weeks I was able to go down in minuscule increments but still go down just doing 5:2 but then the next 4 weeks I started creeping up every week

Today doing an UD, tomorrow a PH day, Thurs DD and then Fri/Sat/Sun UD. Next week will play it by ear if I need to add that MD or if I can get away with it every other week which is what I am thinking of doing so I don't feel so deprived.

My DD netted me a -2.4 so I'm at 126.2 this morning. Not too bad considering I still have one more DD to go this week. My goal is to be a tiny bit lower than last week's ending DD weight of 125.6 but let's see how it works out.

That is great feedback. I love doing the fat fast w macadamia nuts.

Did you set your calorie limits using Dr Johnsons website? I hope to lose using the 5:2 method. And add a third DD if needed. Lost 3 lbs last week.

Not really. I just do the 500 on DD, sometimes a tiny bit more & that I do keep track. I also keep track on the FF because I need to make sure the fat percentages are high enough. But the UD I try to keep it around 1600 though I can go higher or lower. I really don't count calories on UDm, just sort of keep an eye on it & the scale is a big indicator for me. If I know it's a little too high I just eat a little cleaner the next day.

My favorite FF menu is Mac Nuts/brie cheese & HWC I love Fat !! Tomorrow I'm only doing a PH because I have so manydarn potatoes left I hate to be wasteful but my next MD will will be a FF.

Hello everyone!

Welcome Vanilla!

Lexi, you are doing good. I'm an old WW and just yesterday renewed my online membership, I want to use the tracker on my uds too.

Lori, you are awesome on the exercising.

Good luck Pam and hi 5 to everyone!

I'm still dealing with home improvements, hope things get back to normal soon.

Have a good one!

Looking forward to a DD today. I was on the move all day yesterday. My Fitbit said 21,640 steps! I ate a plate of Chinese food for lunch and then just kind of had a snack when I got home from golf....not to mention a couple lite beers at the course!

Taking the day off exercise. My body was feeling pretty beat up after yesterday. The day off will do me good.

Have a good day everyone!

Looks like you all are doing great! I'm so glad to see that maintaining with this way of eating is doable because for the first time ever I don't feel like I'm dieting!

Good morning,

Ready for the day, coffee brewing, puppies outside with Mr.

Weight is steady but I think I've lost as I've worked some carbs back in every day now.

Hope everyone has a good day!

i HIGHLY recommend some sort of tracking on the UDs otherwise it could be a free for all... i suppose if your goal is maintaining then its not as important but for loss you still need to be accountable if you expect to lose.

I agree. I track my carbs. I stay under 20 carbs for my UDs and I consume 0 on my DDs. If I don't track my carbs, I don't lose.
I don't track calories anymore for my UDs and neither for my DDs, as I do a total fast, only consuming 4 cups of green tea and lots of water. I don't need to track my UD calories anymore, as I'm in ketosis, which is limiting my ability to eat a boatload of food anyway.
I'm losing about 2lbs a week since I started to be more serious about LCHF, so I'm pretty happy with that!

When you do Protein days do you also eat low carb veggies too or just strictly meat and protein foods?

It depends on my mood. But usually I do a hard boiled egg for breakfast, Lunch and dinner are only protein (fish/chicken). If I am craving it I may have a 0 % Greek yogurt for breakfast but lately my last 3 or 4 DD were just protein only.

I've also done GY days only & I get some nice drops. Next week I may do a Full Fat GY day in addition to my 2 DD if tomorrow's DD doesn't get me at least to last week's DD weight of 125.6 or close. Need to keep an eye and nip any gains in check or I'll be back to 127.0 if I let it go.

GY is a Greek Yogurt day, a correction day I picked up on HCG thread. It works as long as you aren't dairy sensitive. You get an entire container of the Full Fat Greek yogurt, the big one and eat that and only that all day. I usually get Cabot's 10 %. I add Equal and cinnamon and sometimes berries and I can drop 2 to 3 lbs easily. I have substituted the 0 % or 2 % and gotten similar results. I have my coffee with hwc and it has no adverse effect.

Some people add Stevia or other types of sugar free flavors. It's very filling and is a great correction day. Just search on lowcarbfriends and there are tons of threads on it. It honestly was my favorite correction day on HCG. HCG protocol if you go 2 lbs above your ldw (last loading weight) you need to do a correction day.

Hiya everyone Checking in......

Today is good, my house are almost all done outside, it looks so nice, I changed colors so that's refreshing.

I am really okay with my weight progress, no matter that I'm not losing lbs .... my stomach is shrinking, kind of that caved in feeling. More good is to come I believe. I've been on this weight loss journey a year August 9, almost there. I think adding more veggies in has helped me but still no sugar, a very little of the other white carbs.

I have ordered a yogurt maker. I'm going to try to make almond milk yogurt, I'm excited about that. Sometimes I think I drive Mr bonkers but he hangs with me. He says it like Christmas every week at our house.

I hope everyone has a good day.

I love reading your posts, thanks for sharing!

Lexi, low carb doesn't look so good on the WW tracker, sure gives one another perspective doesn't it...I'm not really a big believer in a lot of fats long term for myself Do you remember how many calories a pp is? For some reason I think it's between 50 and 70 depending on the fat and fiber.

Yea, i don't track carbs at all anymore. it only worked for me once and then never again. just not sustainable for life for me, which is so important.

i think 50 is a good base for it, but you're right it does vary depending on fat, fiber, protein and carbs.

Hi everyone. You are all doing so well. I'm hanging in there. Pandora you sure have a variety of different types of days.

I have been doing some Judding to get myself back down to an acceptable weight since I had jumped up a few pounds. I'm trying to get back to at least two UD's in a row. Might do two UD's and one DD routine. Did two UD's in a row this week and it seemed ok. Also I might try fewer calories on UD's. I'm going to do a DD tomorrow so I can do two UD's for the weekend.

WOE: Sugar Free...one day at a time!
Start Date: 4/12/04
7/15 - 157.0 (started 5:2)
7/17 - 156.2
7/24 - 154.2
7/31 - 153.2
8/01 - 154.0 (DD)
8/02 - 153.0

Down 1.4 for the week, which is a little more than I was hoping for. Now the trick will be to hold on to that loss through the weekend.
