Thanks, Joan. I have been eating just fresh veggies (green leafy & cukes) along with a little grilled chicken and boiled eggs - no seasonings except a little pepper, vinegar and a small amount of Walden Farms dressing.

For me, this has taken away the bloated feeling and water weight and offers me a little encouragement that I can get the rest of the fat off now.

Update: I was so sore after my chiropractor's appt. Wednesday that I've refrained from exercising for a few days. Learned my lesson after April appt. when I hurried my exercising costing me a few weeks to recover. Obviously I'm in a maintenance mode since I've played around with this weight since 3/25, but that's ok for now because at least I'm maintaining at my second goal.

Really surprised I wasn't down today. Not only did I get 8 hrs of sleep - a miracle in itself -, but I was very active yesterday feeling energetic - another miracle in itself plus lower calories than normal.

I'm curious to see what next week brings. Yesterday was the result of upping my magnesium Thur. night to 750mg although it didn't help the sleep issue, but maybe the energy issue for yesterday. Last night I upped it again to 1000mg.

I hope all checked out the Magnesium Thread I suggested. If any choose to up their magnesium, it's important to do it slowly. I'll update my taking it to see if it really is resolving some of my issues. It really seemed to cut my appetite yesterday, but maybe that was a coincidence.

Have a great weekend everyone Try and spend one whole minute doing some strength exercises, i.e. as many situps in a minute for one of the times and pushups some other time. Could also do squats, burpees, dumbells, curls... Do this one minute type exercise 3 to 5 times randomly throughout your waking hours switching between the types of exercise so you're targeting different parts of the body. Also, try and do a 15 minutes or more brisk walk / run / bike ride at least once every other day to get the heart rate up. And of course eat a balanced meal keeping calories at your targeted goal. The body has lots of fat so focus on foods with protein, fiber, potassium, iron. Supplement with protein, vitamins, iron if you're not getting sufficient amounts from what you're eating.

Attention: The Magnesium Thread has been moved to Vitamins and Supplements. More info available by Googling too. Great info in Drs. Eades book "The Protein Power Life Plan", Chpt. 5. Although I've had the book for years, I never read that chapter most likely because I stopped doing High Protein.

Wukong... Awesome on your new LOW and 1 lb from your GOAL!

Wukong, please check out the Thread yourself as too much for me to Post. Although you may not need more magnesium now, it doesn't hurt to become aware of what happens when one has insufficient levels.

BTW, I've kept up my Potassium supplements along with foods.

New Low for May!

My final goal for the end of May is 139lbs.

My current weight as of May 14, 2013 is 143.4lbs! I'm glad that I'm steadily losing weight. Thanks to Wukong, I've found out that my protein and potassium intake was WAY too low. Since then I've eaten more foods high in those nutrients. My energy level has been through the roof!


May 6: 145.3lbs, May 10: 144.4lbs, May 13: 143.4lbs

Maryann...Wise choices. You mention you eat strawberries so slice, sweeten with truvia, and throw a couple of tbsp of Cool Whip. Filling and healthy for you! Have your sliced strawberries ready so easy to reach for.

Ok folks...I know Cool Whip isn't the healthest food to use, but sure is better than salty food. Two tbsp at 25 calories won't be as bad as salty high calorie snacks.

Others...that are bouncing around, remember full bowels will make the scale go up too so just hang in there!

Maryann...Wise choices. You mention you eat strawberries so slice, sweeten with truvia, and throw a couple of tbsp of Cool Whip. Filling and healthy for you! Have your sliced strawberries ready so easy to reach for.

Ok folks...I know Cool Whip isn't the healthest food to use, but sure is better than salty food. Two tbsp at 25 calories won't be as bad as salty high calorie snacks.

Others...that are bouncing around, remember full bowels will make the scale go up too so just hang in there!

Good morning to all. Yummy to strawberries. Love to make smoothies with frozen strawberries, banana and either buttermilk or yogurt and a little vanilla. Soooo good, especially in the summer time.

I am down another 2# this morning so am happy. I am such a slow loser with my meds now. Just want to be healthy and eat healthy - that is my goal. Hopefully, downward weight will slowly follow.

Hope...Could you please post the amounts you use for your smoothies? Plus the type of yogurt you use to make them? Sounds so good and have wanted a smoothie that I would like - or say that I would love.

Maryann...Another healthy snack idea is tuna or salmon egg salad using Mayo with Olive Oil. . Can either spoon alone or 1/2 slice of healthy LGI bread. Secret is to be prepared. Good Luck!

May FINAL goal is to get to 175 by May 15th and stay consistently at 175 for remainder of month.

Started on Jan. 12th at 212lbs, End of January - 202 (-10 lbs), End of February - 192.4 (-9.6 lbs), End of March - 185.2 (-7.2 lbs), End of April - 178.4 (-6.8 lbs)

End of week 1: 178.8 (+.4 lbs)
End of week 2: 176 (-2.4 lbs)

Week 1 - 5/1 Wed 177.4, 5/2 Thu 177.8, 5/3 Fri 177.8, 5/4 Sat 178.8
Week 2 - 5/5 Sun 179.4, 5/6 Mon 177.8, 5/7 Tue 179, 5/8 Wed 177.8, 5/9 Thu 177.4, 5/10 Fri 176.8, 5/11 Sat 176

Yay, reached final goal!!! The last 3 days I averaged 1325 calories a day to do it, 275 lower than my target of 1600. Scale shows my virtual age is the same as my actual age now, visceral fat at 8 (9 is high side of normal), body fat at 18% (started at 28%), muscle at 38% (started at 33%). I'll continue monitoring calories and posting until the end of the month to make sure I'm maintaining this weight.

Sharon, sorry I really don't have a recipe, as such. I just use whatever fruit I have frozen and either yogurt or low fat buttermilk and sometimes DaVinci flavorings to give it a little sweetness. I like to make them really thick so they are like ice cream. I use the 90 calorie nonfat yogurts. Today I made one using 3/4 C frozen blueberries, 1 cup buttermilk and vanilla syrup and topped it with 1 t chopped nuts.

Sometimes I add 1/3 c. dry milk, too to give me more calcium.
Strawberry, blueberry, banana, and pineapple ones are really my favs.

Just let your imagination be your guide. Hope this helps.
