Maryann...You are so right. The human body is a very complex mechanism, especially the woman's body. We have to deal with so much more than just the food eaten or the sodium it contained. Our weight is being influenced by hormones more than anything, then lack of sleep, stress, humidity...I have yet to figure out mine...

Sharon - I couldn't find anything either regarding a ratio. This may be useful..

The average adult should have a minimum of 2000mg-3000mg of potassium per day. Potassium is essential for muscle health, particularly the heart. A deficiency, among other things, can cause muscle cramping and in extreme cases, can cause death. People on "low carb diets" will find they need to take special care to get the proper amount of potassium each day, as potassium is used in the ketosis process to diffuse byproduct chemicals left in the bloodstream; therefore additional potassium is needed regularly to replenish the body's potassium stores.

Potassium is diffused by the kidneys, through sweat, urine or other bodily excretions. In this manner, excess potassium is removed from the body through urination and sweating. Barring kidney trouble, it is difficult to actually overdose on potassium, but not impossible.

People should consume more potassium after intense sweating, if your diet is high in salt or in case of abnormal or extraordinary bodily excretions (such as vomiting or diarrhea) as these will result in a loss of potassium in the excreted bodily fluids. "

I'll be exercising much more this next week so weight will be going up.

Maryann...At least our drops came on a Saturday! I won't be making my monthly Goal either. In fact I'll be lucky if I'm not higher due to exercising.

Wukong...Thanks for your potassium input although I've read where one can have too much potassium in the blood. However, my Vitamin Bible book says an intake of 18g can cause toxicity and that's a LOT. The book also comments of low carb diets and how chances are their potassium level is down. It also says to take enough magnesium to regain the mineral balance. I don't know why I didn't look in that book to begin with. Great drop!

MG...Sorry I missed saying on your 36th wedding anniversary !!!!

Good morning all. Sorry I have been MIA. My intuitive eating plan doesn't seem to be working so well and the scale is showing it. Back to reading here everyday and tracking what goes into my mouth.

Good Morning All!

Didn't reach April Goal. Down 1 Lb., but not at my monthly low.

April 28 – April 30

Sunday 4-28…..…124 30 minutes yoga
Monday 4_29…...125 Another all nighter, but morning nap./ Body Sculpture
Tuesday 4_30…..124.5 Not bad since I exercised yesterday. Planning on Cardio today so will see what happens tomorrow.

Erin... Those are kicks on your tush for jumping on someone else's bandwagon instead of sticking to what was working for you. So sorry - hard lesson learned.

Mommy_gates...Averaging a pound a week is a nice loss. Be grateful! Great job!

Maryann...You've been MIA for a few days? Going to have our May ready to go for tomorrow?

Joannew...According to the doc who wrote The Low GI Diet Revolution, one could be maintaining after a three month weight loss. You lost a lot of weight in eight weeks so this may be what your bod is doing now - getting used to your new weight.

Wukong...Thanks. I'm fine. Have had a sleep problem for years so kind of used to the issue, just frustrating as it affects my weight. Hopefully getting back to exercising will help. BTW, found the yogurt salad dressing you use and Black Forest Ham at WinCo last night. You've more than met your April Goal!

Erika...Good luck with your doctor's appt. today.
