Maryann, I can certainly relate to your sodium problem. I am so tired of bouncing like this although I really watch my sodium. Just a little really throws me off. I was 132 a few weeks ago, but for some reason, have really gone up. Think maybe it is my meds. Don't know.

Wukong...Thanks for info on the ham. I didn't look in that section of Wincos. Yes, 370 mg is high, but sure not as high as others. I watch my salt too although I also do look for foods with potassium added to balance out the salt like cottage cheese and yogurt.

LCL...So sorry you've been sick!

Sharon, I just found out Winco has Salmon patties in the frozen fish section so picked up some to grill. Only 110 cal for a 4 oz patty which are low in fat and good source of Omega 3 fish oil though has about 400mg of sodium.

Wukong...Please let me know how you like the frozen salmon patties. I bought some at a local grocery store that deals with healthy foods and they were absolutely horrible. I did cook them on the stove though, not grilled and that might have made a difference. I used to make my own salmon patties when my kids were growing up, never bothered for just myself due to all the messy parting of the good from the garbage in a can. Probably should take the trouble though because it's about the only way I eat salmon - salmon patties. Strange to not like fresh salmon, but love salmon patties.

Does your thingie you use for tracking your sodium, etc. tell you what % of potassium to sodium should be? I've googled the question and could never get any info - just info on how the two work with the cells. Like that was a big help!

Good morning all. Hoping- Medicine does have an impact for me. I was on and off cold medicine for a few weeks and I didn't lose well at that time.

Hoping you guys with the sodium issues are flushed out this morning.

I have no idea why my weight is down so much this week. I have added fruit, which I usually don't eat. Guess it was just my week to have a woosh.

My Weight Watcher's group is disbanding. I'm OK with that, since I wasn't really going to the meetings. I hope it's OK for me to still post here. I do like having a place to come and post my weekly weight.

HOPE-I'M THE QUEEN OF THE SODIUM PROBLEM. IT CAN REALLY BE FRUSTRATING WHEN THE SCALE GOES IN THE WRONG DIRECTION AND YOU FIND THAT YOU DIDN'T DO ANYTHING WRONG EXCEPT HAVING A SODIUM MEAL. I USED TO BE IN THE 140'S AND NOT I'M BACK 10 LBS HEAVIER. IN YOUR CASE IT JUST MIGHT BE YOUR MEDS. I DON'T HAVE THAT PROBLEM ANYMORE AS I WAS TAKEN OFF OF ONE OF THEM. ITS MY EATING ,I HAVE TO CALCULATE MY SODIUM INTAKE.

The scale and I are just not getting along at all. Seems like the older I get, the sodium bothers me more and more along with my meds. Something has got to change!!!!

CLEAN YOUR KIDNEY IN LESS THAN P20 (I CARE FOR ALL OF US)

Years pass by and our kidneys are filtering the blood by removing salt, poison and any unwanted entering our body. With time, the salt accumulates and this needs to undergo cleaning treatments and how are we going to overcome this?
It is very easy, first take a bunch of parsley (MALLI Leaves)and wash it clean
Then cut it in small pieces and put it in a pot and pour clean water and boil it for ten minutes and let it cool down and then filter it and pour in a clean bottle and keep it inside refrigerator to cool.
Drink one glass daily and you will notice all salt and other accumulated poison coming out of your kidney by urination also you will be able to notice the difference which you never felt before.
Parsley is known as best cleaning treatment for kidneys and it is natural!

...Loved reading this! Good for you!

Want a good way to get rid of body sodium? Do a few Hot Yoga classes. Pretty spendy, but even a few classes are beneficial. Have to drink lots and lots of water though as one sweats like nothing else!

I look forward to doing a few classes at some point in the near future. Have to say if one if one is on medications, probably should ask doctor first.

Sharon...I agree, no sleep equals extra poundage! Funny that you mentioned to Maryann about the potassium, I started taking my first dose this morning to see if it makes any difference!

I never got an answer from Wukong regarding my question about potassium and salt balance, but googled a different question and found what I was looking for.

Erika's post made me try again.

Thank you for the links Sharon! It is amazing how beneficial this little mineral is for our bodies! I been wanting to get the supplement because I have leg cramps sometimes at night and knew that it would help for that, but I didn't know is that it supports so many more functions in our bodies. Glad I bought a 300 count bottle

Tuesday 4-23 - 145 restaurant eating - sodium AGAIN
Wednesday 4-24 - didn't weigh - afraid all of these fluctuations will discourage me
Thursday 4-25
Friday 4-26
Saturday 4-27

May just start weighing once a week or maybe even every two weeks. Don't know.

Sorry Sharon, not sure why I didn't see the question on sodium & potassium though I didn't know the answer but assume they're unrelated.

Maryann, in tracking my calories I found I was almost always half of the recommended 3500mg recommended daily (assuming for my weight). A banana only has about 1/10th of that. Google potassium rich foods to find the top foods for this though squash / potatoes are rich sources of it. I'm supplementing with 500 in a powder form in my smoothies in the morning. Since getting up or near the 3500 I've not had anymore muscle cramping.
