Just letting you all know I'm backing out of the group for awhile until I get my act together. I've been thinking about it for a few days. I'm just too scattered in too many areas and need to get focused again.

Hopefully I'll start exercising again and those of you who were here in January know how that worked out for me. As lame as I've been at staying at one weight for so long, I need to inject something different. At this point, I haven't even done that.

So I'll be back. I hope. I'd better be. I will continue my daily weigh-ins for my graph. And will continue counting calories.

Good luck to each of you! You're all really AWESOME and have done one heck of a job at being focused and determined. I'm so proud of you all!

The scale is up and I know why. Not a normal Saturday night for me. DH wanted to split an extra Sushi Roll and I ended up eating most of it. I had 2 glasses of good Zinfandel. I feel like doo doo this morning. I'll bet if I look back at some of my old posts I can find that I have posted this same Sunday message before. It's not all about the weight. I just hate doing this to myself.

It's time for me to grow up, grow a pair and quit the wine.

Looks like Sat. bumped many of us up lol. Pretty sure mine is Sodium as I ate 4440mg of it about 2000 over my daily. Wonder why they put so much salt in chain restaurants??

What helps motivate me is making other goals that are as a result of, or contribute to weight loss goals. For instance, visceral fat % started at 14 and is just now starting to hit 10 (9 is the upper range of normal). I've slowly increased pushups from 12 to 53, situps from 20 to 45, and dropped my mile from 12 min. to 8:40. My virtual age from the scale dropped to age 60 (started at 69 Jan 12th). Looking forward to it hitting 53 and lower! So, even if I have a slight up day, between all the indicators I can generally get some positive feedback. For instance even though I'm up about 2lbs I dropped a minute off my mile yesterday (so calves) which is something positive to feel good about.

Joanne I hear that, you fast and look forward to a slight drop only to have it go up! Sometimes it happens in reverse though, eat too much and expect a weight gain to find it's gone down.

I didn't forget to post this morning, I just didn't want to.

Avoiding it won't make it go away. I'm going to be super strict with my tracking this week. I'm getting a bit sloppy. Mostly a handful of nuts and sunflower seeds here and there.

Hello everyone!

Just popping in to say hello! A very bad weekend and a very bad beginning to the week for me. Not stepping on the scale, and not driving myself crazy either. Back on track tomorrow with a meat and egg fast to flush out all the carbs. I'll be weighing-in on Saturday

Maryann...I so agree, weekends are really bad here for me also, can't wait for the warmer weather so I'll be out and about again and don't just graze all day out of boredom...

WELL, ALRIGHT. I'M BACK. Checking in and seeing how you're telling me to come back so I'll do what I'm told.

Nothing has changed. However, I am getting ready to do cardio so I'll see the results tomorrow. Decided to do those more intensive Kelly exercises every other day to let my muscles repair this time. Will see how that goes. I did get the newer version of Atkins book from the library and it does stress exercise. Has a whole chapter devoted to the topic. I haven't been eating on the Atkins program, but will get back to it in a few days.

My March goal is to get to or below 184. Ultimate goal is 175 to 180!

March 1st started at 192.4

Sharon welcome back, glad you listened I couldn't agree more about the exercise, have to incorporate to prevent losing muscle weight instead of fat, and, allows eating a bit more I personally don't exercise much, probably run / walk for about 15 to 25 minutes 3 times a week, but I do try overtime to get better results to push myself. I also do situps / pullups / pushups / curls & overhead weights, varying between a few different ones ever other day or so (no schedule). Usually I'll only do as many of them as I can for just the one round. So realistically I spend 5 minutes doing a few of the above maybe once or twice a day (not counting the run / walk). I don't go to a gym just do them at home. I use the scale I bought in January to make sure muscle % stays up while fat % drops. If I see muscle % dropping I try to increase the above.

Today is exactly two months since I got the scale and am now down 22lbs from my start. Virtual age went from 69 to 60 (I'm 53). Visceral fat dropped from 14 to 10 (9 is high side of normal), fat % dropped from 29 to 22.5%, and muscle % went from 34% to 35%. If I didn't have that scale I couldn't know for sure whether I'm losing good weight or bad weight.

For me a good motivator for getting in shape was finding myself single after a very long marriage ... its been a rough 5 months.. but getting in shape helps me feel better.

WOE: Not low carb, but low crap
Hello everyone!

I have done a lot of thinking the past few days. Since I have not control over this body at the moment I have put the weight loss thingy on the back burner and try to focus on trying to maintain my losses. I will still check in here every day but will weigh and record my weight only weekly. May be once I get over this losing pressure I can easy up again

Revised goal for March is: Maintain under 170 pounds and if I lose something...OKKK!

Sharon...You're back! So good to see you You have been holding steady so you have not been too bad with your eating! Good luck with your new exercise routine, just remember not to pay too much attention to the scale as it will fluctuate, but you know that!
I have been bad for 3 days in a row, today has been a bit easier, so far so good... I decided to take it easy for a few weeks/months, I know the supplements I started to take will need at least a few weeks to start working. Then in April I finally have my doctors appointment, then I can have my hormones checked out and see if that is the problem, until then it's maintaining for me, I really need to take this weightloss pressure off of my mind May be things get easier again once I stop being so hard on myself.
