I'm a happy girl today too! Did my Body Sculpt yesterday and still went back down. Plus I ended up having a snack before I fell asleep (outside my IF).

Keep in mind, my fellow travelers, our bodies have our weight set points that we first have to fight. This is why it's said one needs to keep weight off for a year. Takes awhile for bod to reset weight.

Goal: Lose 1 Pound/Week to 125 Pounds

Jan 27 - Feb 2 Maintained [134.5/134.5]

Erin... Congratulations!!! Actually, your success stems from doing three programs at once: WW, IF, Calories in/Calories out <- which is probably WW too which inclues watching what you eat! Awesome! Even if you slow down, consistency is the answer plus hanging in there!

Erin... My IF window part is going great! I think it was easier for me to get used to my window because often when I was on the computer early I kept putting off eating breakfast as it was. Plus my normal life style before my kids left home was to eat regularly with NO night time snacks.

Obviously, snacks before bed is and will be my hardest challenge with this program. However, this hasn't discouraged me as I know it takes time for our systems to make changes. I should have David's book tomorrow and will see some of his suggestions for meals. As of now, I'm enjoying kinda eating what I want while counting calories. I think my dinner meal is the one that will determine the snack habit. Takes time to experiment to see what works.

I'd just like to mention I'm not one to jump on any kind of fad diet bandwagon. I used Atlkins because it made sense: I lost weight, but it wasn't something I would live by. I'm using David's IF because it makes sense and it's something I can and will live by.

Because I have the time, I google and check out all the other diets mentioned on this Forum as some sound so outrageous. I've also checked out Paleo Diet and Fast-5. Although I'm impressed with how Dr. Herring has given his ebook out free which has great info, I'm not interested in that IF or that life style form of eating.

Have to thank you again for the link you provided last week.

Maryann...I'm sure it will bounce right back down AND take some with it! And you are right with the added chemicals. I just watched a program last week about the food industry, did you know that 80 percent of "manufactured" food has MSG in it? And they can hide it under more than 50 different names?!

Sharon...Doing great there!!! And it's funny that you mention the set point. I am at my setpoint from 30 years ago! I was upper 160's before I had my children, and since I have reached this weight my body has been giving me HELL. For the past 6 months I have been trying to get below this point but it just won't let me! That was actually another subject of the program, once the body has realized that it has lost too much weight it will go into survival mode and do everything and anything to fight back, in my case hunger pains that are unbearable, it wants the 90 pounds back

Well, I've bounced back (yoyo here). Can't blame TOM, only that delicious late snack I had and no cardio yesterday. Resulting in flopping from my IF.

Erika...Good info there, Erika. I've read about weight set points, but never the reason for it.

At least I yoyo'ed in the right direction. Was surprised as I snacked late last night. Hope it holds through tomorrow so I reach my goal of losing my one pound. I feel I'm still trying to get my way of eating down right. Still got my morning 8 minute of cardio in yesterday, but not my Kelly cardio.

I'm here! Not feeling well after those injections. Steroids have my appetite raging full force now! Not weighing....between those and ttom showing up this morning, I cannot do it. I still have a touch of the headache from the steroids too.
NO MORE injections. I don't care what the drs say. I'm done!
Its pretty windy here (south of Pittsburgh, Pa) and we're suppose to get freezing rain/snow later. Hope everyone up north stays safe & warm!

So sorry to hear that, Tammy. Weighing-In is the least of your issues for now. Check in once in awhile to let us know how you're feeling. Yes, those shots sure give you negative effects for a long time.

Have you seen a chiropractor? Or is your back issue something that can't be helped by one?

Good luck and take care of yourself. Have you tried 800 mg of Ibuprofen? Taking three times a day helps pain and inflammation. That's the dose that doctors prescribe. It sure helps with my hip joint pain too. I don't have a prescription, just use over the counter Walgreen brand softgels.

I'm still here lurking! Tammy, sorry to here about the shots. They worked great for me and I did them for a few years. Doc finally said no more, time for surgery.

I'm only posting my weight loss number on Tuesdays when I weigh in at WW. My scales show a 3 lbs loss today since Tuesday? I'm just rolling with it for now. I feel great, so I won't worry till I need to.

I checked what I have been eating on my tracker today. 1200-1400 cals per day. 80 grm fat, 70 grm Carb, 60 grm of protein.

Thanks for posting your calorie and tracker results. Someone else on another thread posted a web site for a tracker, but I just looked at it and didn't book-mark it. Perhaps I should have. Is yours a part of WW?

My problem is FAT! Can't get enough of it, therefore can't really stay within my 8 hour IF. I'm so ready to jump into Atkins, but have too much carby foods around. I've thought about getting some Coconut Oil, but haven't gone to a "good store" yet that carries good brands. I get plenty of fat doing Atkins.

Well, Joannew, you're not alone. Between getting back to cardio (35minutes) and eating too many snacks, I also yoyo'ed up.

Not happy with my progress at all so once I get rid of the food I have on hand, I'm going to do Atkins. Stopping IF until I get on Atkins as it's not doing me any good with my present eating program.

Maryann...I hope you are ok, I heard there are lots of power outages up your way. We were lucky and didn't lose power, but boy did we have snow to shovel here today. The snow on my sidewalk actually reached my upper thigh!!!

Joanne...I know exactly how you feel, I didn't want to post my weight every single day of this week, and I'm especially mad today since my dinner was extremely healthy

Sharon...Great job maintaining! I am leaning towards Atkins myself but not sure what I am going to do. I have been eating so healthy, lots of veggies every day but it does not seem to do me any good Today I am trying just meat and eggs and leave out everything else and see how that goes, or may be add veggies every other day. Nothing seems to work at the moment!

Joanne, I will definately give it a try. I haven't had any veggies today at all, just meat eggs and cheese, now I just have to wean myself from the hot cocoa so I wont be using too much sweetener. I will also try to eat the same calorie amount for a few days, I really need to figure out where I stand, am I eating too much? Or not enough? I just wish I could pull it together and stay at 1500 for a week or two and see where the bounces go...When did losing weight get so difficult?


Maryann...I have been thinking of you all day and can't help but worry. I sure hope you have help up there with all that snow

Joannew..Sounds like the three of us are in!

Erika...Thanks for the nice words on maintaining. Problem is I started my program 12/29/12 at 136.5, so basically have lost two pounds in six weeks. Even if I figure one pound is water weight from exercising, that's still only three pounds = 1/2 pound/wk. Not good enough. I mentioned previously I was experimenting and I don't like the results.

Erika, have you read the Atkins book? You don't worry about calories. You simply won't eat as much once you get into that way of eating. Yes, you will definitely have to give up your hot cocoa as that will stop you cold. You can snack, but only following the diet plan. Eat a HB egg or deviled egg.

You mention going the meat/egg program and that's good to get you into ketosis fast. When I first did Atkins, my Induction wasn't going anywhere until I went three days without any carbs at all <- Dr. Atkins suggestion for insulin resistance. Then it took like a week before I really started losing weight consistently. But that was my bod. Everyone is different.

I'm going to pull out my notebooks from 1996 and remind myself what I was eating. Plus also reread his book since it's been so long. I was concerned because I didn't have the Atkins revised addition book, but apparently others are just following his older one too.

I won't be following the program for a few days as I have a pot of chile to eat. LOL And I just went out last night and bought yogurt (low carb at least)

This will be fun, Joannew and Erika, having us all do the same plan.

I was thinking of Atkins also! I've never done it before so it should be interesting to see what happens. I think I'll do a meat/egg "thing" for a few days to start.
Do you count calories too?

Hello everyone

So I once again blew a perfect day by pigging out at night. I really don't know what is wrong with me at the moment, I do so good all day until I go to bed, and then out of the blue I must eat, and that's putting it mildly.
How can I go all day, eating my meals within my calorie limit and then as soon as it gets dark it feel like a demon is taking over. I ate nothing but eggs and meat yesterday, couple cups of salad with my chicken for dinner, I even made me some sugarfree jello for dessert and was fine with it, and the best part of it, I was not hungry at all!
Then I went to bed and NEEDED, popcorn, cheetos, truffles and cheese. I just don't get it, at this point I am not even disgusted with myself anymore, I am seriously upset, why can't I stop eating at night??
Trying to just eat meat and eggs again today, I MUST get these darn carbs out of my system, also no hot cocoa today, it just might be the trigger for my binges.

Maryann...Glad to hear that you didn't have to sit in the cold and got help from your neighbors! Internet we can do without but not without heat here in beutiful New England! Way to go on maintaining!!!

Sharon...I have the Atkins book, did the diet about 10-12 years ago, lost very well on it but once I stopped paying attention all the weight crept back, of course!

Tammy...How are you feeling today? Hope it has gotten a bit better for you! I am "trying" for a meat/ egg day today, hopefully it will kill my appetite and cravings! I am still counting calories and try to have a happy medium 1200-1400, but not today since I must have eaten about 4000 calories yesterday, probably no more than 800 today, that's if I "make" it.

Joanne...Where you hiding at? Come out and play!


Looks like we all want to do some serious low carbing here, I wonder if cycling the calories could be combined with it, kind of like JUDDD, just not as extreme?

Everyone!

Did my Body Sculpt yesterday and so maintained. Ok with me. I think trying the 8 Hour IF screwed my system up. I skipped too many Kelly exercises and yesterday not going hungry, but eating normal, I bloated up so bad it was kind of scary. Thank heavens this morning I'm back to normal. Just thankful my weight didn't go up more. (Did take extra Vitie C)

Joannew... Good for you for starting tomorrow! I’m going to join you, but it will be more like Thursday or Friday to get rid of the chili I made. I can’t afford throwing that out even though I am the yogurt I just bought Sat. night. So basically for all meals except lunch I’ll be doing the Meat/Egg Fast. The chili doesn’t have high carbs, but the pinto beans still aren’t on the Atkins or High Protein diet ok foods. They’re a no-no.

So I’m doing Meat/Egg Fast half-assed until Thursday or Friday. Then full fledge Meat/Egg Fast for three to five days - time depending on what is happening to bod. Then I'll start Atkins Induction. I'm really excited to get started!

Tammy...Yes, join us! We can help each other and help keep us on track. Although tracking isn’t necessary, Tammy, I do as it keeps me on “track”. I plan my meals the night before. I know exactly what I’m going to eat today. Plus how can one do their weekly grocery shopping without a plan.

Erika... Some motherly advice here. You need to reread your Atkins book. It’s not your fault you’re pigging out. Dr. Atkins explains this in his book as hyperinsulinism. Plus you’re not following either Meat/Egg Fast OR Atkins Induction. Meat/Egg doesn’t say anything about salad and jello nor does Atkins say anything about jello on Induction. If you’re reading what others are doing on the Meat/Egg thread, then either do that or do what you’re suppose to do. Personally, I follow a plan, not what others are doing.

Another thing is you probably are watching your Fat level. Look at how well Erin is doing with her high percent of Fat. You can’t be afraid of Fat.

Watch “The Food Revolution”. It’s ~55 minutes, but you can bookmark on your Desktop, write down the time you stop and start from that point the next time you can watch it.
