No, it really isn't that tough, I think it may be the best thing that's happened to me since Atkins. I have been so faithful to Atkins since August and my weight loss has been so slow, I am hoping this will speed it up some. I didn't think I'd ever be able to IF or Judd, but it's amazing how you can tune yourself into this, even want to do it. I also didn't feel like I wanted to overeat on the regular days, it really makes me more concious of what I'm eating and how much. It seems, for me, 2 meals a day may be easier than just one so that is my plan this week. I usually don't get hungry until I start eating so I'll see how this works. Thanks for all the DD material you guys have shared, it has really helped.

Had a good DD today under 350 cals. Could have gone with nothing except that we went over to the pub at around 7 and I had a glass of champagne. So though it wise to eat something when I got home.

OK.....gonna give this a try! I LOVED doing JUDDD but it caused a terrible binging issue in me, as some of you may have read.
I'm thinking that if I just watch how much I eat, don't really count calories on the regular days and then count on the small days (SDs) I may not get so obsessed and start binging again on the regular days (RSs). (You all are saying normal days, NDs, but I don't know WHAT normal eating is anymore since my binging problems started!) I was doing CALP but that is not working at all, I'm gaining weight and this is NOT the direction I'm wanting to go!! Not sure how this is going to pan out but I'm going to start on Monday with a small day (SD) (I like this term better because "down" is my mood lately and I don't want to be reminded of it in any way ) and see how it goes for 1 week. If I see binging coming back or obsessing over what I'm eating coming back it's back to the drawing board for me. I have figured out my basic calories for the regular days so I'll be eyeballing it and eating better foods as much as I can. Somethings has got to give, I'm getting about this 20 pounds I need to get off!

Beeb, if you Google Mark Mosley you should be ale to find one info. BBC seems to pull the video every so often.
The numbers for females are 500 on the lower calorie days and "normal" eating the other five days. I saw 2000 posted for men. I would think about 1600 for women. There is a book 5:2 available from Amazon. It's free if you have Prime, but only about $3 without. I haven't read it, but Yam Yam has a review on JUDDD. The book by Mark will be available in the U S at a later time. I think Kissa has the U K version. I sincerely hope you find the magic formula. You are the reason so many of us got involved in JUDDD in the first place! Hugs ![]()

Thank you all! I'm looking forward to the hope that this could work for me without causing me to binge again the day before my SDs. So far, no binge tonight even knowing tomorrow will be a low calorie day. I'm also VERY aware now of watching for the signs of "I'm full now, stop eating" and it's seems to be working. I'm also of the mind set now that I don't have to eat a lot to be full. Even if I just eat a little I'm not going to die from eating much less, I'm just going to being heading toward weighing much less!
Congrats, Sara! And hello to all my JUDDD BUDDDS I see here! |

Well, today is my first "small day" as I'm calling them. Thank God for JUDDD and the many recipes I invented and the recipes I used from others! I just looked back on my tracker site and found all kinds of yummy things to eat for my 500 calorie day today.
So far I've had oatmeal with a bit of honey, brown sugar sub and cinnamon for a late breakfast and will be having a wrap with Virginia ham and cheese/mustard for my "on the go" dinner. I have made a GIANT pot of veggie soup like the WW "free" soup back in the day @ 44 calories for a big bowl and will be eating that when I get home from work tonight! ![]() I have always loved the DDs on JUDDD and really looked forward to it today. It just clears my head somehow and I do enjoy the planing of the days meals to get the most bang from my low calorie days. So far so good and I'm just that this 5:2 will keep the binge monster!! I think with only have 2 small days I should be golden! ![]() Last edited by Beeb; 02-18-2013 at 11:07 AM.. |

Today is also a DD for me, I like Mondays and Thursday for those. I find that for dinner oatbran and oatmeal with 1% milk and a fruit stays with me longer then any other evening meal.
Nice to see a few others doing this also! Catch you all again on Wednesday - work tomorrow. |

I have to throw in the towel with 5-2, 7-trillion calories, smile!
I'm back to Juddd straight and narrow! Me hopes. I've not gained any wt to speak of with trying fast 5, = eat all day x7 to me! I wt this morning feeling I was going to see a 5 lbs gain, the way I feel. I was T 136.5. S very happy with that size. But I feel totally bloated and I think about eating something all the time----all the time...not good. Which I haven't over eaten just want to eat all the time... SO Hello Dr J again! Surely this being a dd will be good for me, my head anyway. Im very happy this way of eating is working for u guys!! |

First SD (small day) under my belt, came in under 400 calories which really shocked me but I was thrilled and I'm down in weight today!
What a great payoff for sticking it out! I forgot the freedom of these kind of minimum eating days and I really felt good yesterday! So far today I've not been feeling like eating and eating like I did on my UDs with JUDDD, plus not really hungry either and this is a good thing. I'm eating when I'm hungry and plan on a nice Italian dinner out with DH. I'm liking the 3 days (F-S-S) RD (regular days) 1 SD (M), 2 RD (T-W) and then another SD (Thurs). I don't feel the deprivation and the thinking I need to eat lots today because tomorrow is a SM (DD). Tomorrow is another RD (UD) so I'm not feeling the binge need, and THAT is a wonderful thing. Will see what tomorrow eating brings with me knowing I have a SM (DD) coming on Thursday. But yesterday all I thought about was this is just one SM and I've got 2 RD instead of my thoughts were on JUDDD as 1 DD and then an UD and THEN another DD! It just messed with my head. 5:2 doesn't feel that way and I'm really liking this! ![]() Last edited by Beeb; 02-19-2013 at 09:32 AM.. |

I eat oatmeal with a bit of honey and I can go for hours not being hungry afterward! I am also doing Monday and Thursday and I love the fact I have the long weekend to enjoy friends and family and not have to worry about it being a SM (DD)! |

This morning's weigh in was 166.2!I'm not sweating it though because we were at Disneyland the last three days; Keira and I are both sick; my legs are sore from all the walking; I didn't count a single calorie the whole weekend and likely had 3000 calorie days (if not more!). I'm having a good DD (SD) today and will see what happens tomorrow. The best part is, if it doesn't come back off quickly, I'll just slip in a week or two of JUDDD to get back to goal, then move back into 5:2. It doesn't get any easier than that.

I will face the scales in the morning after my 4 nights in Istanbul, partying with friends. My legs are aching too Dawn after all the sight seeing. We had a great time.
I have done a DD today while travelling and plan a second one tomorrow . I don't often do that but on Thursday we are lunching at a very special restaurant with friends to celebrate 3 birthdays. Then have friends coming to stay so need to get rid of my indulgences. I love this freedom, am I repeating myself? Glad to see thongs going well for you Linda. Sorry 5:2 isn't for you Ei.

Was only up 1 pound after my 2 RDs (regular days/up days) and I'm very happy with that, especially since I was down 2.4 pounds after my first SD (DD)! AND no binging issues and this in itself means more than any weight loss at this time!
I truly believed I would never get a handle on the binge monster that I have been battling with since last April! ![]() On my second SD (DD) and I'm doing very well!! Made some chicken chili and I'm going to be heading out to Atlantic City for the evening! If I win big tomorrow will be an even better RD! ![]() ![]() |
