Friday's weigh in was a new low for me at 141. Then after Friday's normal day I was up to 143. I was expecting to be up a bit more this morning after my second normal day, but I'm at 142.5 this am. Today's another normal day and then tomorrow I fast

That's great. I was going to chicken out of doing another UD today too but I was also down .5 this morning after my second UD. So now I feel ok doing the third UD in a row.

I had a big bounce after my 3rd UD in a row, 1.5lbs.
for a good DD to take it all back off. I wonder how long it will take for me to relax about 5:2? I'd probably be less nervous if I start counting calories on UD again. It has been nice not to this past week though. |

I decided I really want my fast days to be Tuesdays and Fridays, so I'm doing a fourth UD in a row today and will have tomorrow be a DD. I've "gained" 2 pounds with 3 UDs, but I often do that with just one UD, so I'm not too concerned.

I weighed 147.6 on 1/31. My weight is 150 this morning, which is up 2.4 lbs. after 4 non-fasting days. Today will be my first 500 cal. fast, since swiching to 5:2 from JUDDD.
Best Wishes on your continued progress! ![]() P.S The whole month of Jan. doing JUDDD, I only lost a total of 2.4 lbs. ![]() Last edited by SlimNana; 02-04-2013 at 05:31 AM.. |

I didn't weigh this morning...how weird is that, I genuinely forgot!
I enjoyed my 3 'Normal' days in a row again but didn't overeat at all. I like the term Normal Days, I may use ND instead of UD while trying this. It seems that my attitude to eating on those days is different than when I was doing regular rotations. So, I am happy to be having a DD today, been to the gym and had a boiled egg so far. We go back up to London tomorrow where I will be reunited with my friendly scales are. :0 I love that we are seeing just the usual bounces with this. I still don't quite believe I could have seriously lost as well or as quickly this way, but at this stage it is anther great 'freeing' feeling. I am very happy.

Hello!
I started this 5/2 on Feb 1, guess I am rather late to the party ![]() I am doing Monday and thursday at 500! I feel so much less pressure then JUDDD! How have you all done? I went to 4 sites about TEE, all were different too!: ![]() 1323, 1507, 1517, 1674 Any suggestions? I did read that there is a good bean recipe for the 500 days, but could not find it! I read about it on a message board that was from England! Cindy, can you locate it for us? Thanks All! Last edited by leonak; 02-04-2013 at 01:42 PM.. |

I'm back to 137 today after my 3rd 5:2 down day. I'm maintaining perfectly
Now to decided if I want to continue to maintian or go back into WLM and lose couple more lbs. Hmmm, maybe I'll alternate 4:3 and 5:2. Leonak, I stopped counting calories on UD when I switched to 5:2. Is TEE what you are supposed to use for UD's? I think if I go back to counting I will probably still use my JUDDD UD numbers, 1637. |

After 3 normal days and 1 fasting day i'm at 142, up 1lb from my lowest. I am interested in seeing what happens at my next weigh in on friday, after 2 more normal days and another fasting day
Eta-tom just started lol. So only being up 1lb right now is really impressive, since i usually have a bigger bounce when it starts. Last edited by mom23kids; 02-05-2013 at 06:09 AM.. |

I'm back @ 148 this morning, after 4 non-fasting days & 1 fasting day of 500 cals. My TOM started yesterday, so from this week forward It will be the true test of 5:2 for me, as to whether to use it for WLM or just maintenance. ![]() If I stall, then I may wind up mixing it up with 4:3 for only a couple of weeks out of the month until I reach my goal. ![]() Best wishes! After 4 UDs, I weighed in at 164.4 this morning. I also have a pulled muscle in my shoulder, exercised for the first time in a week yesterday, and my fingers are swollen from my hand issue. All in all, I'm perfectly content! Still hoping this continues to work so wonderfully. Today's my first DD in ages!

Hope your shoulder and fingers get to feeling better soon! I read that you pulled your shoulder lifting your new puppy, but have you been able to pinpoint anything specific that triggers your fingers to swell? |

It's a hyper reaction to the cold. Caffeine can make it worse, so I'm drinking more tea instead of coffee, but haven't been able to go cold-turkey.
I have a chilblain on one of my toes now too. I used to hate the heat (we get upwards of 110 degrees in the summer here) but now I long for the end of winter! |

Since I'm hypo-thryroid, I can't do below 500 without shivering and my fingers turning blue. I avoid feeling too cold, because it triggers me to crave carbs. I also find it helpful to exercise for at least 30 min. to raise my body temp. Hope you find a resolution soon and that it works for you long term. I can't wait for spring!

After 3 NDs and 1 DD I was at 125.4 again this morning. I am so happy with this.
I find I simply don't feel as if I am dieting. I love the 2 DDs and they can be moved so easily if there is a reason, no need for horrid MDs. I am sure that if I want to drop some weight I will need to try 4:3 or go back to straight rotations but this is the easiest Maintenance ever! |

Do you all track calories? I just found a new phone app and it actually GIVES you the daily amount of calories you should be eating to lose. It also factors in calories burned too.
http://mashable.com/2009/01/03/free-...o-lose-weight/ It's the 2nd one down the page that has an image of the app. Mine's 1515 a day ( ). I think I'm going to stick to that number and plus any exercise cals I may have that day on 'normal days'. Also another question - on UD or ND (however we are looking at it!), do you stick to any sort of health guidelines, like 5 veggies and 2/3 fruits, no junk, or do you pretty much eat whatever you want and still lose? I'm really not sure if it's how or what i'm eating that's causing me issues. I want cheesecake. There I said it. ![]()

I don't count on my NDs but I wasn't counting latterly while doing straight rotations.
My instinct is that my calories are a little lower as a rule than they were, as I am not feeling obliged to eat my UD calories. I eat anything I fancy. |
