I have had my first 3 UDs and I am so looking forward to my DD tomorrow. Don't think I was eating in a crazy way but I can't wait to eat in a more sensible way.

Lyric I am watching your progress with interest.

Jiggles, we can only try, yes?

We will miss your regular posts Sara. You see more on the internet here in the UK than in Real Life...

I feel very piggy after 3 UDs... fingers crossed.

Sara, we'll miss you. I'm glad you will still try to check in when you can.

Well, I decided to make yesterday an up day after my dd made pancakes for breakfast. So I figure I should just go for it and try 5:2 and see what happens. The worst that can happen is I gain a pound or two which I know one or two good down days will take right back off.

I didn't gain after my UD yesterday so I'm off to a good start and hopefull I can maintain or even lose which still seems crazy to me. I didn't really track my calories yesterday either for the first time. I started to but quit after lunch. I'm undecided if I'm going to keep counting/tracking. I wonder if stopping counting and dropping down days at the same time is too much change.

Not bad, 127.6 this morning after 3 UDs. Phew.

Enjoying my DD, hoping to keep it under 500, but we shall see. I am not prepared to be miserable.

Starting the 5:2 plan with a 500 calorie day today. After this weekend I'm happy to have a light day today. Hopefully I will feel the same way on Thursday when I have the other DD. I think it will be okay with having 2 UD in between. Will be a good break for my mind I think.

I think today I'm going to just split the 500 calories into 2 - 250 calorie meals. One around 1:00 and the other for dinner. I did wake up hungry this morning (which surprised me) but I'm drinking some hot tea which should help.

With not having as many rotations as JUDDD I don't expect to lose very quickly but I definitely should lose something with how much I've been eating lately.

Good luck Jiggles. I have so enjoyed having 3 days of 'free eating over the weekend. I didn't go mad but it was weird after being used to rotations or cheating!

DH even asked me a couple of times if I should be on a DD. He is always worried that I may fall off the wagon, I was fat for so many years. Sweet of him, but hard for him to keep up when I change my plan.

My SO was always so confused before on whether or not it was a DD for me too. And he told me the last time I was trying JUDDD that he thinks he eats worse when I'm on my DD's because I don't normally cook on those nights. So, he's fending for himself and he doesn't cook so he just throws together junk. Since I'm only doing 2 DD's during the week now I think I'm going to try cook actual meals, just make them real low cal or smaller portions for me.

In fact, I don't think I'm going to tell him what I'm doing right now. He probably won't notice the lighter meals 2 nighs a week if I don't make a big deal out of them.

I just hope I don't go overboard on the regular days. I don't plan on counting calories those days because that just drives me insane. If I can really focus on Paul McKenna's 4 rules I think that will really help. When I pay attention to what I'm eating I don't overeat and stuff myself.

WOE: Back to JUDDD!
Updating after my weekend away. I had a nice controlled UD on Saturday, though loads of sodium and my feet were swollen. Yesterday, I wasn't very hungry, but had another UD which came in a little low at 1705 calories. I'm usually closer to 1800 so it's not a huge difference.

I weighed in this morning at 165.8. My weigh in Saturday morning (post DD on Friday) was 165.4, so only 0.4 gain after two UDs. Today should technically be another UD if I'm doing Tuesday/Friday DDs, but a coworker is bringing me homemade cherry wine on Friday and he says it needs to be consumed the same day, so Friday's going to need to be an UD. This week I'll do Monday/Thursday DDs and see how it goes.

So far, this is looking promising.

Wow, on a cruise?! That's pretty good! I find that when I'm really paying attention I don't need all the food that I think I do. Sometimes it's even frustrating because the food's so good yet I can't eat as much as I want because I don't NEED that much. I actually get mad at him.

^^^^^ Yes, I know just what you mean. Aren't we sad, the way we just LOVE food, but hey, why not?

Glad you are happy with the way things are going Dawn, me too. I am so enjoying the DD, it seems even 'nicer' after 3 days somehow.

You guys seem to be doing really well with this. It's a DD for me too after 2 UDs. I think I'll stick to U U D U U D rotation and it will be easy to adjust if something comes up. My scale jumps up 2 pounds by the end of 2 UD's and it scares me LOL I also had an UUAD Saturday so I need the DD.
I feel like a freak that I crave DDs....

This is how I feel too! I'm just starting out w. JUDDD so it's too soon to tell, but most seem to lose pretty slowly w. JUDDD. I don't lose quickly or well with any plan. Sigh. Not sure I'd be able to lose at all w. this? Not sure doesn't mean I won't try it eventually . It does encourage me, since I predict there will be some DDs that don't work out. It'll likely be in the back of my mind and validate an unplanned UD.

Thanks again for sharing your results!! Keep the posts coming!! I'm looking forward to what you all learn!

I think it just depends on the person. I've lost 21lbs on JUDDD (with a few hacks thrown in along the way), since November 7. And that's including the crazy Thanksgiving and Christmas eating holidays, when so many people end up gaining

My last down day before starting 5:2 I was 137 which had been a new low. (I was doing JUDDD for anyone who doesn't know)

Then I did two UD's. Yesterdays DD was the easiest I've ever had. I was not hungry. I really only ate because I was feeling dizzy. I came it at 394 cal, my lowest ever.

Today I weighed in at 136.5! Another new low for me. I'm shocked and thrilled. I'm so curious to see if this continues.

I didn't see this thread before but as I mentioned in another JUDDD thread I did a 5:2 by chance when I was sick for a week. I wasn't strict on calories but it was pretty close. Since I have to weigh-in on a Thursday night my DD is Thursday and I didn't want to have a DD on Wed. too and an UD would probably have me up a pound at WI so I have been trying MDs. I will check back to read more!

Made it through my DD yesterday at 437 calories. Had some hunger in the evening but it was tolerable. Didn't feel like I had to get up and eat something right away this morning. In fact, I'm just having a little breakfast now and it's 3 1/2 hours since I got up.

Going to really focus on eating normally today and not overeating.

Knowing I only have one more DD this week seems like something I can deal with at the moment. If I were on JUDDD I know I would be thinking about having to do my next DD tomorrow already. I'd be stressing about it. So, it's nice to know I have a break of a couple of days until the next one. Doesn't seem so overwhelming this way.

I'm not weighing myself until the end of the week though. Probably Saturday even though I'm used to weighing only after a DD. I'm not expecting a huge drop and will be happy to just see another pound gone.

Wow! That's wonderful losing! I hope to do as well! I'm a slow loser, and can't or don't lose on most plans. I'm trying to keep my expectations low and realistic.

You guys are doing great!! How many of you had stopped losing from JUDDD? Or, were you just looking for something new? Were you losing faster w/ JUDDD or 5:2? Curious! I'm just starting out w/ JUDDD but would prefer 5:2 especially if if works as well, or better than JUDDD! Keep posting! Thanks!

And I'll third your motto pleasekeepworking!

Julieboolie, I did JUDDD for 4 1/2 months and reached my goal to lose 20lbs. I didn't do exact alternate days tho, I had 3 set down days and 4 up days (the same days every week), because I wanted my schedule not to change.

After I reached goal, I switched to 5:2 because for me, the fewer down days needed, the better. I'm maintaining beautifully on it and surprisingly even dropped two more pounds without trying in the least. I think I still would have reached goal if I had started with the 5:2 plan but it would no doubt have taken longer.

Good luck on whatever WOE you decide to try!

I was still losing with JUDDD and have no doubt I would have continued to do so. I threw exercise into the mix and slowed down quite a bit, but I'm sure it would have picked back up. I decided to try 5:2 to maintain and have lost a little bit more in the week I've been doing it. I think JUDDD should work better for loss since it's pretty much the same thing as 5:2 but with more DDs and thus more calorie restriction.

I hadn't stopped losing from JUDDD. I made my goal weight but then decided to lose a few more pounds. (which I did) I'm not quite sure where I want to stop but its probably no more than 5 more pounds. I decided to try 5:2 for a while to see if I would continue to lose or maintain. I just started so I don't know yet if I was losing faster with JUDDD but my guess is yes. Time will tell.

That sounds great!! 20lbs in 4.5 months would be just fine by me!! I am toying w. a similar plan, so I can have weekends as MDs or UDs. Hmmm, hadn't heard of a 3/4 JUDDD plan. I like it. Not sure I'll be able to work DDs into my social schedule Makes me sound like I have a life!

I think JUDDD should work better for loss since it's pretty much the same thing as 5:2 but with more DDs and thus more calorie restriction.
Good to know! I wonder if I'll start losing more quickly once my body adjusts. The exercise is likely what's messing w. my losses (I hope!!). Glad you're doing well w. the 5:2.

I just started so I don't know yet if I was losing faster with JUDDD but my guess is yes. Time will tell.
I love this type of JUDDD testimony. Losing a bit more past "goal" and rather effortlessly. I look forward to hearing of how you feel the 2 plans compare. I'm sure it'll be similar and would love for you to say the 5:2 works as well (or better ) than alternating every day. Wouldn't that be nice?

Thanks again!!

I hadn't stopped losing on JUDD either, I just thought I'd try to see if I could maintain on 5:2.
I did stall on LC, was stalled for what felt like months, then started JUDDD on 12/1, went from 126.6 to 122 in Dec, not a huge number but a big loss for me for a month and it got my losses started again and put me right near goal. I am sorry I waited so long to try JUDDD.

I actually think I might go back to a fixed JUDDD rotation and have 3 DD's instead of 2 per week. I want to get the last pound or 2 off and have the bounces be 118 -119 instead of 120-121. Then in a couple of weeks come back to 5:2 and maintain there.
