IF & Cold Sores?
Has anyone here experienced a correlation with cold sores popping up when they started IF? I've been doing it for a couple of weeks and I had a cold sore pop up today. BUMMER!
I'm also getting over a head cold so it could be that too but I read somewhere in someone's blog a couple of days ago that they got crazy cold sores all the time while doing IF and when they stopped and started eating breakfast again their cold sores went away. Coincidence? |

Hasn't happened to me so far. (Knock wood!) For me, I mainly get food-related cold sores from too much sugar (including fruit), too much salt, or too much acidity (ie tomato sauce, hot sauce, raw veggies) at one time. I have noticed with IF, that when I do eat, it takes much longer. (Somewhat larger meals, and consumed more slowly.) If your cold sores are triggered by some particular food or foods, perhaps you might be increasing the amount of focus-time your lips get with things like, eh, steaming hot chili peppers???

Now that you mention it, when I first started JUDDD, months ago, I got two cold sores back-to-back (rare for me). But then that was it.
I believe that cold sores and canker sores, in general, pop out on me when I'm under stress. So maybe once you settle more into this new woe, things will be better. |

Maybe take a look at what you're consuming during IF.
When I consumed EVCO daily, I had an ongoing problem w coldsores and because I believed the antiviral hyperbole, it took me way to long to figure out the culprit. Coconut is on the list of irritants so you may want to use an alternate fat, if that turns out to be the stimulant. |
