Jenny Craig
Hi!
Has anyone here done or doing Jenny Craig? Just wondering how you like it. I'm thinking of doing it. I don't mind the membership cost and cost of the food. I'm thinking I may need something with more structure like this (I know about having to add in some of your own foods). I just ordered their three day sample pack (three breakfasts, lunches, dinners, snacks, salad dressings, some kind of syrup thing, and 7 anytime bars and a free walnut brownie) to decide if I like the food and from there I will decide. |

I can understand hoping their structure would be helpful, but the fact of it is that the more obese we are the less likely calorie restriction without carb restriction will be successful. It's all about insulin, and the more carbs you eat, the more insulin you have, and the more fat you are able to keep and store easily.
If you look to success stories, make sure you are listening to very obese people. I think this sort of plan is much more helpful for those trying to control that extra 20 lb. |

I've been on JC since 2 November. I rejoined after being on the plan for 3 months and moving to Europe for 4 years.
Let me know if you need a JC consultant. Mine is really great and love her! Took me 2 tries to find one that I liked. The food is great !!! |

I've done it before. I like Jenny! I did the in-center program. I didn't feel like the consultant knew a whole lot more about nutrition than me, but she was friendly and encouraging.
I actually really liked the food. Well, probably 90% of it (do NOT like the shelf-stable meals... frozen is the way to go) And the cheesecake...OHHH the cheesecake is GREAT. Now, I only did JC about a month or so each time before some big life-changing thing would happen and I'd jump ship (sigh...story of my life) BUT I definitely lost weight both times I did it.... probably 7-8 pounds each time (and I only had about 20-ish or so to lose) My old boss at my last job did it consistently and lost a noticeable amount of weight in the few months I saw her doing it. I'll bet she went down a good 2 sizes. Last edited by Kiley2801; 01-14-2013 at 12:31 PM.. |

But then again, even though I know, theoretically, a decent amount about food and nutrition, it doesn't mean I put it into practice very well. ![]() Good luck on Jenny-- looks from your stats that you are doing great ! |

My boss just lost 40 lbs. on it. It's a great program especially if you are very short on time and don't want to cook or plan meals!

Thanks all for your responses! I did sign up and got my food the other day, (I am doing at home, not at the center) and I have my first consultation on Saturday and then I'll start Monday!. They have me on the 1700/day calerie menu because of how much I have to lose, but they will go down overtime with the weight loss. Seems like so much food, but at least I know I wont be hungry

I lost 20lbs on JC a few years ago. It was ok. The meals were carb heavy most of the time but I didn't know anything about carbs back then. I like to cook so I would end up dumping most of my packaged meals into a pan with weird combinations of extra veggies just so I could "cook" LOL My consultant was a really nice lady but she had about 100lbs to lose herself so I'm not sure she was actually following the program like they are supposed to be.

Hi!
Yes, I do like the program. Its easy to follow for me and I no longer feel hungry in between meals and snacks which is good. I actually have to remind myself to eat! LOL. I've done it for about 3 weeks now and have lost 11 lbs. 6.4 the first week, 1.6 the second week, and 3 pounds the third. The other 22 lbs I lost from before I started from giving up soda. Most of the meals have tasted great and its very convienant for me since I hate to cook LOL |

Thank you so much! I can already feel a slight difference in my clothes. Bras are not so tight and my jeans a slightly looser, but will probably need to lose another 10 lbs before I need to buy a new size.

I have been doing Jenny since Jan 2 and as of yesterday have lost 11.6 lbs. I've lost 1/2" in my bust, 2.5" in my waist, 3" in my abdomen and 3" in my hips. I love the food, and I've been on the personified program since my 5th week.
I wish there was a Jenny Craig support group on LCF. If anyone wants to start one, I'm in. A big congratulations Victoria, you are doing awesome! I'm waiting to be able to get new sizes as I was STUFFED into mine before so it may take a while til I actually can fit into lower sizes. Looking forward to my first pair of new jeans and new size bra!!! Keep up the good work!!!!

Just reviewed the posts in this Thread and Kaimi is also doing it. That's three of you and maybe more if you check out the Lobby with a Post.
