sldeal, I've had half & half in my morning coffee since day one--I made a deal with myself, agreeing to give it up if I didn't start seeing any results within a month. I'm seeing results, and my month isn't up yet....so I'm pretty sure I'm doing ok keeping that little treat. I just can't stand black coffee.
I know what you mean. I tried drinking it black for about a week and finally had to give up. I don't always have to have sweetner in it but I definitely have to have the cream.

Lisa I'm sure you will make it to onderland soon, just stay positive.

Melanie it's good to see the lbs are dropping! Definitely encouraging.

The scale was my friend this morning and I'm now down to 173.2! My eating wasn't the best, so I was shocked to see the drop. That's a drop of 1.4 lbs for the week.

Stay encouraged everybody.

Woohoo! Nice work! I must say that it's great to come here and get the extra "oomph" with the successes and encouraging words.

It has been a great day! Got my group exercise classes mixed up today, so I tried a step class for the first time... It was alot of fun, but definantly need to figure out some of those moves...

I'd say that's more like one of those "rolling stops" that I get away with once in a while.....Sure, there's a stop sign there, but when no one else is in sight, why come to a complete stop? You're going to roll on through this one.

Hi Girls!

Hope you don't mind if I pop in here. I've been reading about Fast 5 and am very intrigued. I have been trying to do JUDDD with little results and am considering switching to Fast 5.

I guess you don't have to bother with counting calories on Fast 5, but do you ever find that you feel you aren't eating enough? Or, do you feel as long as you eat whatever your body asks for that everything is fine? I don't want to get my body used to living on low calories and then have to starve for the rest of my life!

I really have no problem with the fasting part. I think my window will be 2-7 most days.

Another question.....would it be breaking the fast to have my MCT oil in my morning coffee? I like to do that after boot camp in the morning.

Sorry for so many questions....I'm just trying to find a plan that will be something I can do for life!

Welcome Lori!!!

So far I am not counting calories. I workout alot and I have yet to feel like I am not eating enough. Weird because I frequently did when I was sticking to strict JUDDD rotations. My window is 4-9 and I feel I do well, just need to watch my sodium and if I get into nuts and peanut butter, maybe my calories too... I have cut out my morning coffee, but make a protein shake at 4 with a little coffee thrown in to give me energy for my workout (a couple of which are boot camp).

Don't know if that's much help, but it's what I've been doing so far...

Thanks Melanie!! You are doing great with Fast 5!

I'm debating whether to stay with the JUDDD plan of only eating 500 cals or less every other day. I'm afraid I may be too hungry, especially on boot camp days! I really like the idea of eating whatever I want in my 5 hr window every day! The thing is, I'm in a "Transformation Challenge" at boot camp that ends next Saturday. I'm kind of afraid to switch up my plan with only 1 week to go! I really don't think I'll win the challenge, but the competitive side of me is still hoping! I'll be glad when its over so I can experiment and see what works best.

Thanks again for your response. Talk to you soon!

Welcome Lori!

Good luck with the challenge! I took part in a community challenge last year, and lost 32 pounds in 6 months--unfortunately, I gained 13 of them back after relaxing too much on counting calories and carbs, as well as the exercise. I've struggled with JUDDD and am really enjoying Fast-5! As far as the MCT oil goes, I'm not sure--My eating window is noon-5pm, and I have coffee with half n half around 5am every day, and I've noticed after the first couple weeks I haven't lost anything more, so I'm trying to cut it out because it may be breaking the fast for me--but everyone is different, and some can have HWC, CO, and the like during their fasting period and it doesn't affect them.

I'd say get through your contest, then come experiment!

Looks like you're really getting the hang of this, Melanie!

Today I managed to start my day with plain tea rather than coffee with half n half. Feeling super hungry right now, and I have 4 hours to go..... Going to try to stay busy and get through it though!

I have a question for those of you who have been doing this for awhile. I'm coming over from a month of JUDDDing, so I still have the every other day low mindset. Do you do that or strictly just eat whatever you want in your window? Today would be a DD for me, but I did a strenuous boot camp workout this morning and will do another one tomorrow morning. I'm kind of worried that I'll be stressing my body too much to try to do a DD today.

Thoughts?

I'm kind of worried that I'll be stressing my body too much to try to do a DD today.

Thoughts?
I switched from JUDD to an eating window (around 6 wks ago) and had the same issue. I play tennis (probably not quite as strenuous as bootcamp), but I add 100-300 cals on my "lower cal" days or DD.

What I do now is eat a large-ish meal around 2-4pm on the days I play weeknight tennis. Then I don't eat any more. I will be full from my meal (usually anywhere from 600-1000 cals), but I'll feel fine by the time I work out. After, I usually have an electrolyte drink (0 cals). I may get a little grumbly in the evening, but it always passes. If I get shaky/low blood sugar, then I will eat a snack or small meal, usually something like a smoothie or a grilled cheese sandwich. (around 200-300 cals)

From what they say (Brad Pilon, Mark Sisson and others in the fasting/bodybuilding world), training fasted is actually a good thing.
