Sweating and vomiting I doubt are due to water.. Maybe you had some bad meat? Glad it has all worked well for you though!

Back to my fasting today after taking yesterday off. I really needed it too, the scale didn't agree but I KNOW that is because I am still struggling in the toilet area (sorry ). Thinking of incorporating a potato hack into this too. It helped with my last stall. I stall at every kilo

Potatoes may help get me moving again though, they are full of fibre. Overall, feeling pretty good today fast-wise. Have a great one everybody!
sicchi at least you're not giving up. I did read on another thread where some one went on a potato diet to break their stall and apparently it worked. I could never do that because I'm doing LC. But keep tinkering around until you find what's comfortable for you. Good Luck!

sicchi here's the thread I was looking for. It appears she did quite well on the potato hack and lost quite a few pounds.

Mom23kids JUDDD Journal

Because I'm doing LC this will never work for me. Again, Good Luck!

I use it everyday and it is really tasty. Like Sideal said, google it -- lots of web sites that tells you what it is, what to do with it and how healthy it is.

I rushed to the first meeting grabbed a cup of coffee and went to sit down. That's when I found out I was in the wrong meeting. That meeting was for a law group. Quite embarrassing. Left my coffee on the table and went in search of my meeting group.

Walked around the foyer to the next meeting which was already in session, come to find out that was the wrong room also. By this time I'm frustrated, and tired (should have wore flat shoes ). After walking back & forth I finally found the room for my meeting. Grabbed another cup of coffee and sat down at a crowded table, by this time my stomach is growling

So today I shortened my fast and opened my EW at 12:45pm. If I get home in time I'll close it at 6pm, if I'm not home in time I'll stick with my regular closing of 7pm.

Hope your day is better than mine!
It was better! But I've had my share of those type of days. Now I'm retired and I DO NOT miss any of that. Hope you're having a better day -- are your feet OK? Hope you massaged them or at least soaked them.

Hi guys, just checking in to see if everyone is still holding on. I had a great day, well a great day for me is eating within my 2 - 7 window Of course I had a few 'hungry bugs' biting on my stomach but nothing drastic. I'm going to try for a 21 hour fast tomorrow, but I know the only way I can do that is by keeping busy. So, I'm hoping for an extremely busy day tomorrow

Stay on course everybody and have a pleasant weekend. If any of you live in the northeast where the storm is headed, please be safe and stay bundled.

My fasting hour lasted for 23 hours on Sunday. Went to church, got busy cooking when I returned home, got some low impact cardio in, sat down to watch a video, and before I knew it 23 hours had past. I guess I could have made it to 24 hours, but while I was cutting my meat, I slipped a piece in my mouth out of habit... I closed my EW at 4:30 yesterday, so we will see what happens today.

I was rushing this morning so I didn't have a chance to take my measurements, but I did weigh myself. I'm down .2lbs, yeah, I know it doesn't sound like much, but I also know it's a loss and not a gain, so I'm taking that with a big grin I'm now at 179.2.

Have a great day everybody!

Continuing onward

Don't forget that part of Fast5 is to also DIET (Did I enrich today?). It frees up time for us to focus on social, physical, mental, play, etc.
While we are learning a better way to live/eat-we can be getting healthier in so many other ways.
For me, using a 5-hr only window to eat daily is such a time saver and frees my mind up to do other things. I know I can eat whatever I choose to when the time comes. I strive to make that healthy, for me that is LC, Wheat-free. But, I focus on choosing healthy whole, delicious foods.
This is a good plan. I will weigh again 2/14. Trying to weigh only about every 2 wks. That is new for me. I'm staying off the scales. My clothes are getting looser, etc. This is all good. let's continue onward!

It seems like a short window typically involves lunch, but my options at work are pretty grim.

Can anyone recommend a microwave-safe lunchbox? I was considering either a square Pyrex dish, or the "laptop lunches" bento boxes at whole foods.

I find that I focus less on snacking and more on eating filling foods. I eat my largest meal when I open my window. When it's time to close my window I very seldom want to eat anything. I also agree it allows me time to focus on other things besides food. good luck on your weigh in.

pickleptet, I don't use a lunch box so I can't help you out much in this area. But I'm sure you can google it or check amazon.com. Both are resourceful and you should be able to find something. Good luck!

Hi guys, just wanted to say I'm down 2.4 lbs this morning! Last week I was 179.2; today 176.8. That's 10.2 lbs since starting this WOE!

I realized I had to lay off flax for a while. Although it's good for you it was causing me to feel bloated. When I checked it out online I read where flax retains water. I was eating MM & flax cookies routinely.

I was rushing again this morning so I didn't take measurements, I'll probably change my weigh in & measurement days to Sunday, I'm more relaxed then.

Hang in there everybody!

It's a PDF freely available on Bert Herring's blog. Quick and easy read.

Just google Fast-5 and you'll find it. I started Jan 5 at 187lbs I'm now 175. It does work. Good luck

Great! Also if you have a FB account you can look up "thefast5dietandlifestyle" it's a closed group with excellent support for persons venturing into Fast-5.

Oh thank you! Are there any other popular Fast 5 threads right now or is this it?! I couldn't really find much else? I'm a daily weigher and I love the accountability of weighing in here daily...

I know there are some IF threads but I'm not too sure about Fast 5. Just be careful though, if you read through Dr. Herrings book he tells you that you might not experience any weight loss for the first 2 weeks. During that time your body is going to adjustments. Afterwards you will begin to see a drop on the scale. the first week I think I lost maybe 3lbs then nothing for almost 2 weeks. Make sure you take your measurements, so if you don't see a loss on the scales you'll probably see it in your measurements. If you check out the FB page you'll be able to read what others are experiencing as well.

Okay, good to know! I've been taking my measurements monthly already! I think I'll just weigh in daily here... Hopefully there won't be too much of an adjustment since I'm already used to fasting with JUDDD. Planning on my eating window being from 4-9pm.

Hi! I've been doing Fast-5 for about 2 weeks now....and loving it! My window is Noon-5pm, which works perfect for me. I hope to stay off the scale and weigh once or twice a month. So far it looks like I'm down 3 pounds, but what makes me even more pleased is that I'm wearing pants that were way too tight a couple of months ago!

Not much that's more motivating than getting into your "skinny" jeans!!! Good job and keep posting updates!

Thanks Melanie--I wouldn't really call them "skinny jeans"...maybe "less fat" jeans. Baby steps.

What I enjoy most about Fast5 is that I'm learning to control how I think about food. Previously in the mornings I use to think about breakfast, then I thought about snacks, then I thought about lunch, then there was the afternoon snack, let's not forget about dinner and of course that evening snack.

I've been doing Fast 5 for 2 months now and I only think about that 1 main meal. Seldom do I think about snack, etc. Of course, when it's time for my window to open I'll think about different foods, or if I smell food cooking in our office kitchen, but my life isn't based on food anymore.

On Saturday I decided to see if I can go with just 1 meal a day. So far it hasn't been difficult, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to continue it for long. But for now I'm enjoying the 1 meal with or without a snack.

Saxy enjoy those small pants because they will get smaller over time.

Good morning! Well, for the first time since starting Fast-5, I broke my fast super early and had a piece of toast for breakfast. I'm not even sure why I did it, because I don't think I was hungry. Oh well....live and learn, I guess. Still going to do things normally and open my window at noon. I'll just cut down the calories a bit for the day. Onward!

Don't sweat it. I drink tea/coffee every morning with a little cream and splenda, I couldn't take the black coffee/tea and I'm still losing weight. I think you have to find what works for you and your body, and stick with it. We're going to face a few hiccups along the way, the main thing is that we stay focus.

I agree with you, wait until noon to open your window and keep the calories down a bit. You should be okay.

What amazes me is even though you "cheated" you only had ONE piece of toast!!!??? Now if that was me I would have probably caved and eaten the whole loaf! I know I am continually learning from my mistakes...

I considered eating the entire loaf, Melanie.....truly I did.

sldeal, I've had half & half in my morning coffee since day one--I made a deal with myself, agreeing to give it up if I didn't start seeing any results within a month. I'm seeing results, and my month isn't up yet....so I'm pretty sure I'm doing ok keeping that little treat. I just can't stand black coffee.
