MIL and friend didn't even know I was on a new WOE so its not like they were just being encouraging. I am not weight lifting so its not exchanging muscle for fat. Just interesting, my body must be changing somehow or people wouldn't notice like they are.
CAD takes awhile, but I think there is some serious "shifting" of where the weight is carried, or less fat in places. That is why the first month, I didn't worry about weight loss.........I was just happy to not gain any, and be able not to stress out over food---what to eat, what not to eat, how to survive on road trips.........

This is so much easier for me to attempt to stay on-plan. And I think there is still shifting going on, even though I have only lost 7 lbs since September. All my clothes fit much better----and I notice a difference in jeans fitting, even though size is the same. Definitely don't need relaxed fits now

Restarted CAD first of September. I am keeping track of weekly weights, and admit I was lying to myself whenever scale got up over 190, so the first weeks averages are slightly distorted.....

Week ending 9/8 189.75
Week ending 9/15 188.07
Week ending 9/22 188.57
Week ending 9/30 188.00
Week ending 10/07 188.40 (4 days restaurants-road trip)
Week ending 10/14 188.0 (3 days horse show)
Week ending 10/21 188.33
Week Ending 10/28 187.86
Week Ending 11/03 187.21
Week Ending 11/10 186.25
Week Ending 11/17 185.9
Week Ending 11/24 186.35
Week Ending 12/01 185.42
Week Ending 12/08 186.07
Week Ending 12/15 186.21
Week Ending 12/22 185.14
Week Ending 12/29 184.42
Week Ending 1/5/13 185.33
Week Ending 1/12/13 184.71

I am glad I got reminded to do my weekly avg weight!!!!!
I am down .62 lbs and that surprises me. I thought I had been doing lousy but I actually haven't done bad at all!!!!!!!

The weekly averages are important. If I wasn't using mine, I'd tell this story instead:

Stepped on the scale right before I started and it said 152. Then a couple of days later, I'd gained all the way to 155.5! Then, I hit 152. and 152.1, but when I woke up this morning, I weighed 153.2. So, I gained 1.2 since I started! This can't be working!

Or, I can look at averages and say I lost a pound since I established my benchmark weight. And I'm never hungry and eating what I want once a day. Um, yeah. I think I'll keep doing the weekly averages and just stay on plan.

I don't care how long it takes me to get to my goal. I'm just going to keep enjoying the freedom of eating this way while watching the numbers inch slowly down.

This week my daily wts have been up by a pound or two, but I am not surprised nor getting discouraged. We went out to dinner on Monday and due to issues with the places we went to we ended up eating over the course of 2 hours instead of the 1. First time I have veered off course. We'll see over the week how bad this will hurt! The next day I did just fine and no cravings, hunger, etc so that at least is encouraging. I have noticed a couple of small pimples which I am thinking is a hormonal thing since the first week on CAD I had a huge outbreak of acne as well.

Oh ya, should point out that my measurements have continued to go down even though my weight is hovering 221-224 for the last few weeks.

I have lost another 3/4 in off my bust, 1/2 off my biceps. Waist, hips, thighs remain static but my scrubs fit better each day at work. Also big change: my wedding rings are super lose and spin on my fingers constantly. I was even able a week ago to just barely squeeze my wedding ring back on my ring finger (currently worn on my pinkey). I only did it to see if I could. I had it sized down years ago when I was about 190! It has actually flung off my pinky twice in the last few weeks while cleaning so I may have to take it off for safety at some point!

I love it when I see signs of progress besides the scale. I have a skirt I bought in the fall that I almost didn't buy because it pulled a little across the front (just a tiny bit tight)...I am wearing it today and instead of it being a little tight, it's a little loose. Hooray!

Scale showed me 152.2 this morning. I increased the dosage of a medication starting yesterday, so I'll be watching to see if that messes around with my scale weight or not. My doctor said it shouldn't, but it's good to keep in mind.

RM last night was enjoyable. We picked up food on the way home from the racquetball game. I had a small bowl of rice noodles (gluten free) with pork, plus I had chocolate ice cream for desert. Today's RM is going to be potato cheddar soup with sour cream and bacon and chocolate ice cream for desert. YUM.

Have a great CAD day, all!

Good morning! A busy morning at work kept me hopping, so I haven't eaten yet today.

I will eat lunch soon. Plan for my RM dinner tonight is gluten free mac and cheese with tuna fish and ice cream for desert. Maybe I'll add something else if I feel like I need it.

I'm still pretty committed, but I know I will have days when I'm tested and don't follow the plan exactly. But, that's not going to be a reason to quit. My goal this year is no quitting. It's the consistent actions over time that are going to help me succeed.

Have a great CAD day, all!

Good morning!

Scale read 152.8 this morning.

RM last night was really good. Gluten free white macaroni and cheese with tuna...a favorite meal! And coffee ice cream from Haagen-Daz.

Reward meal tonight will be homemade gluten free lasagna and some kind of desert. I might stop by a bakery and pick up gluten free cupcakes. Haven't decided quite yet.

I actually felt like exercising this morning, so I got up and rode my exercise bike for a little bit before getting ready for work. I am SO not an exercise person, so this surprised even me. And it really felt good. Maybe I am on to something new!

I had pizza and a big sundae last night and only up 2 pounds. I had 4 slices of cheese and a lg. Americano with cream and splenda in the day. Today cheese and coffee with cream and rm is ribeye, salad with ranch and ice cream. I am running in a marathon tomorrow and only eating a rm afterwards. I am sure it will be a big one. Why isn't everyone posting????? Hope all is well.

Had a great salad for lunch and then an amazing dinner of two grilled steak tacos with tortilla chips....yum!!!

My energy levels are good right now. I was having a lot of fatigue earlier this fall, so I'm glad to be feeling better.

Good morning! Enjoying coffee this morning and trying to figure out a plan for the day. My daughter was going to go skiing with her dad, but those plans got changed. I'm going to go help at the kitty rescue for a bit and then we'll probably go out for lunch and get groceries for the week. I might do an RM for lunch, but it just depends on where we go.

Where is everyone? Hope all is well and everyone is on plan. Make it Work hasn't posted for a while and others too. I just ran a marathon today no food at all running but had a big rm late afternoon and that was sufficient for the whole day as it was a double whopper with cheese, fries, soda and reesees. Not balanced but I was starving. In the CAD book one of the gals had a roast beef sandwich and fries with no salad so they weren't always eating balanced . I like the CAD version for me best because it doesn't feel like a diet.

Hi everyone! Karen, hope you feel better. Lotus, I think I have had that same car before only it took me to every Taco Bell it ever drove past! LOL Oriana, I have been so busy this last couple of weeks but thanks for missing me

This last couple of weeks: we got a baby sitter for the first time in a VERY long time! We have gone out 5 times ever in the last almost 9 years so it is a big deal for us. That night the RM time ended up being spread over 2 hours which couldn't be helped due to issues at the place we started out at and had to go some where else for dinner We still had a good time and considering that was the first ever slip up for me I am not getting worried.

Then, also, I have a rabbitry with the rarest breed of rabbits in the US: The American Chinchilla Rabbit. So, from time to time I do tours of my rabbitry and I brough together a gathering of 5 different rabbitries and someone wanting to start up their own in June so that was a big deal for me as well. Had to spend a lot more extra time out at the barn and also coincided with the usual routine barn chores, grooming of my herd, and also time again to shear my indoor angroa bunnies so I was all about rabbits for a couple of minutes, LOL

Then also, since I am a nurse and it is the sick time of the year, we have been super busy at work and I have also picked up a couple of extra shifts here and there, one being a night shift so that will be nice on paydays but stressful and not leaving much time for puter niceties.

Somewhere during all this I have kind of forgotten to be taking my daily GTF chromium. Not sure if it has been the added stress, the one time slip up, the reduction in GTF chromium or a combo of them all but I am up 0.6 lbs from last week. I was actually thinking I would be up 2 lbs so I am super happy it is only that amount. My weights were at an all time low of bouncing 221-222 and then this last week 222-223 a lot. Still-m very happy to be doing the daily wt then averaging or I would really be biting my nails "assuming" I was up 2 pounds!

Hope everyone has a happy Monday. I wish I had more time to post meals but for those who do thank you so much as I really do like seeing the CM's and RM's!

MIW

Today's menu: after my 9 mile run I had
B-3 oz. cheese, coffee with 2 oz. cream and splenda
L-3 oz. chicken, salad with ranch
D-2 apples, 8 oz. peanut butter cup (it was an extra large one from Christmas) . Not balanced but I am following CAD and eat what I want

Made the mistake today of pushing my lunch out too far...didn't eat until 1:30, and I felt horrible. I had two steak tacos in corn tortillas and some rice. Skipping breakfast is one thing (I am comfortable with it now), but I have to eat around noon.

It's that time of the month and my weight has been hovering around 152.7. I'm happy with it as I'm eating wonderful food every single day and no cravings or binge eating.

The whole point of CAD is it doesn't HAVE to be balanced every time. Better if it is, but not necessary. That is what makes it work in my world.
CALP does more of the balance theory. That is why I do CAD.

I am alive. Only fever and cold.....no stomach flu. So I am not complaining. Went to work this morning, but caved in about 1:30. Son sent me home, and I slept 2 hrs this afternoon. Feel pretty good right now......Maybe the worst is over.

I have slipped. Diet pop tastes better than anything else. So I have been drinking it. And this afternoon, I had my RM of wild rice soup made with almond flour, but earlier I had a bag of popcorn. But I figure I need to get back on my feet.

Good morning! Weekly weight average today of 152.6. High this week of 152.8 and low this week of 152.2. It's that time of the month, so maybe the scale will go a little bit lower next week. I guess I'll find out!

I have sausage, cheese, and cucumbers for my CM today. RM will be grilled ham and cheese sandwiches on gluten free bread, sweet potato chips, and ice cream for desert.
YUM.

Busy day at work--have a great Tuesday!

Mon and Tue wt holding at 222. I ate A LOT yesterday so I was surprised:

B CM- 3 pc bacon 2 eggs bowl of cooked cabbage

Hi everyone... I've fallen off the wagon again!! But I still believe in CAD as a way of life. I just need to break my addiction and get with the program. I also choose CAD over CALP because I like the complete freedom, and I still lose when I'm following CAD. Glad to see everyone's posts... I was out of town and crept up on the scale. Looking forward to some future success with CAD!

Hey everyone! Haven't posted in a while..... Everything is going well. DH is down 45, and I have lost 15. I just finished reading "Wheat Belly". Aside from all the technical jargon, it was very insightful as to the causes of all the health issues that have reared their ugly heads the past 50 years. The reason for the referrence to the book is because I have really missed hot cereals. In the book, there was a recipe for a hot flax cereal with pecans or walnuts and unsweetened coconut made with coconut or almond milk. It was delicious and EXTREMELY filling. I am very excited about getting hot cereal again. I also bought some salba (chia) seeds to see if DH would like them better than flax (he has a "texture" issue with flax) No such luck, though, he doesn't like the chia seed either. So, what to do with the chia seed......hmmmmmm........ I researched it and came up with a recipe for "faux" tapioca pudding! WOW! I'm in love! The flavor possibilities are endless. Aanyway I hope everyone is well and surviving the winter and flu season.
