beautiful avatar Beverly--how very pretty you are!
I can't deal with liver, so I take uniliver pills that I ordered from netrition. grassfed beef liver. I take 7/day. They are as big as horsepills and a bit of a challenge to swallow, but I feel better when I take them. |

No, not a lot of weight, but I quit going the wrong way and I don't bounce like I used to. I bounced up 6 lbs after valentines and I thought it would not go away. It is leaving and hopefully, I can keep seeing more weight go with it. I will weigh on Sat and let you know if this seems to be a good thing or not. So, do you think the cals are too low??? I feel like 1200 is really where I should be, but then I am trying to listen to my hunger signals. It is so confusing.

Yes, I am going to do a tater hack along the way too. I think since I love my broth so much, I will just do taters and broth during the week next week and see where that takes me? I may throw in 3 egg yolks for breakfast and then nothing but taters.

the absence of hunger and craving is what keeps me on PHD. I have never experienced anything like this. I wish I were losing weight--I need to get back on the tater hack--I can't do JUDDD anymore--deprivation triggers me, altho perhaps it wouldn't if I were doing PHD DD's or tater DD's. I just am happy that my hunger is so under control with this. It is so remarkable.

I eat from the same list, but throw in tilapia & shrimp & dark chocolate daily.
I notice something very interesting. I used to be a protein craver and lived on meat & eggs. I have completely lost all desire for protein. Is it the supplementation of liver? ![]() Last edited by sunday; 02-20-2013 at 09:05 AM.. |

I did add in shrimp and scallops. I still need to be a bit careful with the dark chocolate, unless I make my own, as the sugar can trigger me to eat a whole bar instead of a couple of pieces. |

I only recently discoverd I love brussels sprouts boiled! I roasted them first out of fear . I keep an embarassing stock of cauliflower to mash Grass-fed hamburger for meatballs, and oh my gosh, the QFC sales of wild-caught king salmon makes me so happy! Love berry smoothes (I have dropped egg yolks in these - 3 yolks per day somehow my goal); kale was a little bitter in it. I love kale salads with balsamic dressing. My favorite seaweed snacks are the ones made with sesame oil - probably not ideal but so tasty. I haven't seen tumeric lemon tea! I must try this! I have purchased the uniliver liver pills - they are so big. Has anyone found something smaller?

Industrial vegetable oils contribute to inflammation of the liver that is part of metabolic syndrome. Read archevore/Kurt Harris for more info. Exercised muscles will up regulate insulin receptors. KeyTones, I would love to put yolks in my green smoothie. I am so fearful of eating raw eggs. My daily drink consists of coconut milk, kefir, 20 blueberries, 1/2 apple, pumpkin puree, kale, spinach, & cukes w/ 1/8 tsp of gluc. It is so filling and unbelievably refreshing.

I just turned 58 ;(
I boil turmeric powder, black pepper and a little water to make a paste. I add a smidgen to lemon juice, hot water and a couple of drops of stevia to make an antiinflammatory tea. I buy my chocolate at world market. 99% cacao and no sugar. I love it. One square is heaven to me. I think the addition of potatoes has killed my need for protein. I don't know why. Maybe because they have protein? So strange! |

Boy, has that changed! With incorporating safe starches, I only eat smallish portions of meat. Such as a can of Wild Planet sardines in EVOO and lemon! I never really liked sardines before, but these are incredibly tasty to me! I have fallen love with them! |

I agree - potatoes seems to kill cravings for everything, at least for me.
Did you all see Rochester's post about chicken broth curing his constipation? I remember him posting endlessly about constipation a couple of years ago, LOL (he is intentionally funny). I didnt' know about the constipation cure element. |

Does anyone believe that by adding gluc to my smoothie, may keep me from absorbing all of the nutrients? Just pondering the goodness of this drink?

I eat lots of Bubbies kraut and pickles.
I just put up some vegetables to ferment in half-gallon mason jars. I followed Jaminet's recommendations. I have one jar of cabbage, and one with cauliflower, carrot, red pepper, garlic, and some jalepenos. I found another recommendation that I incorporated as well (forget where I saw it). I put liquid coconut oil on top before putting the wrap and lids on. It turned solid and created a seal. They're sitting in a cool, dark closet. I can't wait to see what I end up with! |

Blue, I am another Bubbies addict.
I am anxious to start fermenting veggies. Did you order a starter? Or just use one from another fermentation? Would love to know your process! |

Do you make water kefir too? That is my favorite. I the carbonated results and my body craves the stuff. It was causing me some gas in the beginning, but my body has now adapted to it.

It truly is remarkable how the urges go away. I was looking at some chips earlier in the lunch room, moved the bag to get behind it (for a k-cup for my keurig) no urge to open said bag and dive in. Amazing! Love you guys! |

I just got the PHD book but am skipping to the cliff notes by asking you guys: what's their stance on baking with gluten replacements like coconut flour or rice flour? I've been PHDing and not losing, even gained a couple, and I suspect I may have to dump my little gf treats, sigh... --patty |
