Beth2013 Woowho! Way to go on those great stats!! I plan on sticking with M&Es until July but I'll prolly throw in a few weekends of regular LC for my sanity. Looking forward to salad on the 1st has helped me through eating so much fish. lol

Stardust Down a pound already? Great start to your fast!I love the idea of cycling M&Es with reg LC for weekends. It should be a lot less boring for you.

Tashydoll My friends used to call me Stashen..

LoriAS Teenagers sound like lots of FUN!

I am down a pound finally. I think because of TOM I am retaining water, which I rarely do. I am going to begin working out again starting today. I get burned out with working out as I am all or nothing kind of girl. It was part of my lifestyle and profession for many years, so I have to do exercises that peak my interest. It looks like all of you are on a roll in terms of weight loss and exercise!

LORIAs-Jillian Michaels DVD is no joke! I do enjoy her DVD's. I do have a question about how long do you guys are just eating Meat and eggs? I don't know if I should give it a couple of weeks or months, or just a few days each week? I saw a recipe for a VLC pizza that has caught my interest. It is one of the things I miss the most!

I'm at 157.0 again this morning. I'm gonna eat more fish today but I really wish it was chicken instead.
Oh yea, one reason I don't mind if the scale sticks on me here and there.. my husband said he noticed I was shrinking. Poor thing sounded like he wasn't sure if my weight was a safe topic to discuss or not. lol It made my night though so I'm glad he spoke up. He even said it takes dedication to stay on a plan this strict and that I was doing really well. lol Hubby never talks food or diet plans with me so this was high praise.

Haha Phase - I've always thought it kind of cute the way they tiptoe around the subject of our weight. Very smart men!

I was almost positive he'd say something when he saw the Coconut Oil in the pantry, but I think he's afraid to ask!

Phase and Beth-
I have only been married 2 years and that is when I started to gain weight. I am taller than the average women and have muscle so I hide it well! Only when in the buff can you really tell or if you knew me for a long time. One of my first arguments was with my husband over food and weight. Needless to say, he has never commented on my weight or food that I eat in a while. LOL!

Grainfree - Funny you should mention height as I was just thinking the other day that if only I were taller, I'd be at goal! I'm so jealous!

At 5'4" I realize I'm no shrimp, but DH is 6'3", son is 6'1" and even his fiancé is tall, so I really feel short 'n stubby when I'm around them lol! (And, ahem, being 40 lbs. overweight didn't help at all).

If I didn't mention it before, I'm so glad you joined our little group!

I usually eat M&E naturally, very low carb. So, when I ocaissionally have some veggies or fruit, I don't stress over it too much. I try to never go over 20 carbs even eating fruit and veggies. I did have a huge salad at lunch today, because I went out to eat with a couple of my girl friends.

It appears everyone is doing well. I'm dealing with a couple of teenage boys who have decided to exchange personalities! My oldest (17) has decided he doesn't want to be the responsible one anymore and is rebelling. While the younger one (15) is stepping up - cooking, cleaning, and helping with his two younger siblings. He has always been the wild child that never helped with anything. My world is so confusing right now
Frustrating isn't it... still a drop though

Good luck with your kids (you have 4??!) I am not looking forward to the teenage years, I have one 4 year old and right now she is just about perfect...not looking forward to all that changing!!!!

Phase - your average for just under two weeks is amazing! Great testimony to how well this fast works! Enjoy every bite of that steak!

Lori, I remember the teenage years well lol. What a challenge! We just had the one and I can't even imagine dealing with two. We look back on those days with humor now but at the time I'm sure I was close to pulling out my hair.

I guess I'll stick to M/E (for simplicity's sake). I looked at some other plans and realized I don't want to have to count anything or keep track of points. Starting 5/1, I think I'll try the 'cycling' thing - give it two weeks or so and if it messes me up, I can always go back to fasting with M/E.

I was so hoping to crack the 130's by today. I'm .2 of a pound away from 139. .2! Stupid scale LOL.

I'm UP 0.4 this morning. I do think my lunch, which was pretty processed and had a good deal of ranch dressing is the cause. The steak was awesome though.

I was up .6 this morning. Had a zillion errands to run yesterday, got light-headed - dashed through a drive-thru and ordered a chicken-salad sandwich with a fork lol. Fixed me right up.

Have been super hungry the past couple of days. Annoying, but not nearly as bad as that 'loss of appetite' feeling I had frequently in the middle of this month. I'll take feeling hungry any day over that.

3pupsmom: Totally understand wanting to stick with a plan that's given you the very best results. I peeked in the CAD forum (wasn't sure what it really was) and I must say I'm intrigued! I don't have the luxury of time right now to be able to try it, but once I figured out what "RM" meant, I was sold!!!

Being really hungry while not losing just sucks (happening to me at the moment lol) -- so if it's any comfort, I feel your pain.

In the meantime, I'll check my local library to see if they have any books on CAD. I love researching this kind of stuff. Right now, I'm knee-deep in books about being 'gluten-free'.

Take care of those 3 furbabies! I'm on a mission to talk DH into getting a 'companion' for our one sweet doggie (he pretends he can't hear me lol).

Beth2013: CAD is sooo easy as a way of life. I've been on every diet known to man , including WW and Nutrisystem when it first came out in the '70's....it REALLY tasted like cardboard back then....LOL!

Anyway......CAD regulates insulin release by limiting carbs during the day, thereby allowimg you to have them for your Reward Meal (RM). That way you never have to give up anything. You just have to make sure your RM is completed within 60 minutes....that prevents a second release of insulin, which will cause severe cravings.

DH and I have been losing, slowly of course, for 6 months on CAD and have never been hungry or felt deprived.......until this past week on the M/E fast.........I guess our bodies are too used to CAD.

I'll still be checking back in from time to time to see how everyone is doing. CIAO!

Good luck on the new addition to your family!!!

Never heard of the CAD way of eating, will have to take a look at that

Hope everyone is doing well with M&E. I'm back on it today. I know the scales will have gone down over the weekend even just with regular LC as it's my first week back on it. Feeling less bloated already. Will try and hold out until Friday morning to weigh though

Hi Stardust. I'm planning on starting with your cycling method day after tomorrow and I'll probably schedule weigh-ins on Fridays, too. Yay.

Up a pound today. My fault since I skimped on water for 2 whole days (silly since by now I know better). DH made both breakfast and dinner yesterday. He's really heavy-handed with that Tony's seasoned salt lol. His grilled chicken was really tasty, though!

Hope everyone has a super Monday!

Hello All.
I guess I wasn't losing weight because of TOM. I am down 3 pounds since I last reported in! I am so thankful! It helps me mentally, as I was ready to jump the ship when the scale wasnt budging even 1 ounce! Has anyone done NK before? If so, what was your experience. I am reading about NK and it is very interesting.

Beth,
what a great hubby, you have. He cooks! I wish mines did! It would make my LC eating life much better if I didn't have to cook all the time!

Haha - the day before, he threw away the bacon grease I was saving from my fasting breakfasts (he said, "it didn't look like much") and I sort of behaved like he'd tried to burn down Fort Knox We think it's pretty funny ...now... but on Sunday he made sausage and scrambled eggs for breakfast and the grilled chicken for dinner (I made lunch lol). He's a super guy (when he's not throwing out my bacon grease lol).

It just depends on what I have planned or what I have in stock at the house. Sometime I go weeks without any carbs (only meat & eggs). But sometimes I have veggies all week (usually because I have made a large salad and it is portioned out for several days.)

Naturally though, on a regular basis I eat bacon and eggs for breakfast, tuna or wings for lunch, and some form of meat for dinner (pork or beef roast, taco meat, steak)

This weekend I grilled some asparagus with butter, and I made a broccoli cauliflower salad, so I had these once a day.

In addition when I get a "sweet tooth" I have heavy cream, SF syrup, and sweetener whipped until stiff like mousse.

Also, I try to never eat or drink after 6:30 in the evening. I find that if I do, I normally do not do as well on the scale or overall.

I'm 5'4" and my DH is 6'3" too. My 15 year old step son is 6' but luckily the 6 and 4 yr old are still shorter than me haha.

Morning Ladies (and Gents if there are any present!)...I'm back on M&E after a few weeks off. I just couldn't keep my head in the game and my desire for veggies & salad took over - better than a desire for bread and chocolate I guess!

I think I'm mentally right now to do my 4 days on M&E and 4 days off (normal L/C). I'll make sure I come here everyday to keep me on track and receive the lovely inspiration I get from reading everyone's stories.

Have a great day all

Happy May 1st everyone!

I've been looking forward to a salad for 30 days and today was the day, so I had two. One at lunch and one just now for dinner. Awesomeness!

Back to hardcore M/E tomorrow; going to try for another 30 days.

Lori- I know what you mean about not eating after 6:30. That was a problem for me when I got back on LC it really made a difference on the scale when I ate my last meal at 530 or 6 o'clock this week. Maintain my 3 pound loss so far. I got a trampoline today. I am going to try Tracy Anderson on the trampoline and see if she can hold my interest for 45 minutes.

Morning everyone,
Good start to my M&E yesterday. Had put on a couple of kilos (TOM & having a few too many LC treats in the past couple of weeks) but happy to say the scales moved DOWN this morning!

Here's my progress:
Day 1: -1.3 (45 mins on cross-trainer)

Yesterday's menu:
B: Coffee with HWC & CO, 2 x fried eggs, 2 x strips of bacon
L: Coffee with HWC, Beef soup (beef broth, chunks of steak, garlic, ginger, fresh coriander & chopped up chillies)
S: Frozen decaf iced coffee with HWC & stevia
D: 1 x marinated Asian pork skewer, bowl of beef soup
S: Cup of green tea
Lots and lots and lots of water....

Hope everyone has a great day and can report some great losses!!
