Hi all

I feel like I know you all, as I have been trying to read this thread for days and still have not read all the pages lol

This is my story:
April 12th 2011 - Low Carb Start
March 30th 2012 - 6 st lost pre op. Weight Loss Surgery.
March 2013 - lost 5 stone post op (11st all together, which is 154lbs weight loss)
Now back to Atkins to lose a final 28-42lbs

I have done meat and egg before my weight loss surgery and loved it.
I kept eating things I shouldnt last week and gained 7lbs. That scared me. So I am now on day 3 of meat and eggs and loving it. I have already lost 4lbs of the 7lbs gained.

I hope you don't mind me joining in.

This thread has inspired me loads.

I have been having co in my coffee and hwc.
I have ate meat cooked in co or butter.
Only had a sprinkle of cheese on a couple of things the first day.
I have my eggs fried, scrambled, boiled or egg mayonnaise.

Hi there -- this meat and egg fast sounds interesting...I read the original posts and I have a couple questions....

Does this group go on MAE fasts for say 5 or 7 days at a time to get the "whoosh effect" or is this an ongoing fast?

If there is a start date when you're starting again, I'd be really interested in trying this out.

From reading through the thread, some do it long-term, some to kick start, some carb cycle etc. It appears anyone can join at any time

Hello! Long time lurker, wanted to say thank you for the information on the meat and egg fast. I've been stalled for the last month and started the meat and egg fast yesterday. Was down 4 pounds this morning!!! I plan to continue through tomorrow but am already thrilled with the results. Thank you!!!

Wow! That is brilliant in one day Bobbette. I am not surprised you are over the moon

My menu today:
Breakfast: Made a 3 egg omelette (my partner had half - so 1.5), sprinkle of cheese and bacon - cooked in butter.

Lunch: a combo of small bits of meat.

Dinner: homemade spicy burger (made with a mix of beef and pork mince), scrambled egg (in butter) and mayo.

Drinks:
Coffee with co and hwc
I have bought decaf tea and coffee today to use sometimes. Trying to cut down on caffeine.
Sugarfree water (2 litres)

Weight loss so far:
Day 1: -2lbs
Day 2: -1lbs
Day 3: -1lbs
Day 4: -3lbs

I dont know why I did my weights like that:
It should be:
Day 1: 3lbs
Day 2: 2lbs
Day 3: 2lbs

Tomorrow is weigh day 4. Not sure why I split it up (lack of carbs to my brain lol)

Thank you very much

I have lost a lot slower than most people after weight loss surgery. So now I am a year post op in 7 days, my body will allow me to eat this way. I am so grateful that I can. Others would be ill because of the fat.

But since this I have had no bloating, no IBS pains, no gallstone attacks (mine are triggered by greasy carbs)

So going to stick with this WOE until goal if I can

Hi Elizabeth, Welcome

I've done it a couple of ways. Just 5 days straight and then back to normal L/C for a week or so. Then I tried 4 days on 1 day off back to normal L/C. My best results, and most stable weight loss is this time around with 4 days of M&E and then 4 days of normal L/C. I will be starting my next 4 days of M&E again tomorrow. I think I will continue to do this until I get to my goal with is about 9 lbs away. But everyone is different and people achieve results differently, best thing to do is give it a try and see how you go. My best tips for you are, drink heaps (and I mean heaps) of water, don't let yourself get hungry and make sure you include fat otherwise you can go into what is called "rabbit starvation" where you basically poison yourself with protein (not good!!) These are just my personal observations and like I said, everyone is different.

There are loads of ways you can do this and it has lots of benefits - reduction of hunger, reduction of sugar cravings, weight loss (obviously), reduction of bloating and it gives me tonnes of energy. All round winner really!

Glad to see everyone's going strong! I'm proud I had no cheese today the goal is to kick it completely for April. I can't believe the month is almost over. I love that this plan is so easy and I'm hardly ever hungry.

WOW fluffs that is incredible

I was back up the 1.5 pounds I lost yesterday, boo, but still down 4 pounds over the three days and I'll take it! I wish I had the willpower to stay on for a few more days but I had a few moments yesterday of feeling light-headed and felt a little sick to my stomach this morning. So going to add a few carbs back today and see how I do.

It's nice to know this works, a handy little tool to pull out should I have another stall. Thank for all the information everyone!!!

I naturally eat meat and eggs with very few carbs other than condiments. At times, because of the low fat mentality ingrained into us from decades of low-fat hype, I still have a tiny bit of doubt. Then I have a checkup and continually get great results and kick myself for even a second of doubt. I am happy to report a 2-year low on my blood pressure last week of 110/60! YAY!

Great work on such a good result with your BP. It's always encouraging when you see how well your health responds to LC. Great work on how much you've lost also, that's awesome.

I find it hard sometimes too Lori and have those occasional doubts...it's stupid really considering that we know how good we feel when eating this way and also how well we maintain/lose weight. I find it quite funny when I get the strange looks from people or the raised eyebrows when they find out how much fat I eat in a day... Conventional wisdom has a lot to answer for - mostly overweight, undernourished, and unhappy people. Least I'm not one of them anymore!

OMG that is so crazy good!

I went back to induction-level carbs yesterday and am down another pound today, whew! Happy to see I didn't shoot back upwards after adding back some carbs.

Thank you I am actually stunned. Not lost this much in a week ever since my surgery.

Well done! Some on here have had weight loss after eating a few carbs and dropping back down. Think it keeps your body guessing
