Becky!! Sounds like you're almost following Nutritional Ketosis principals. I feel much more sated and happy that way too. Do you watch calories of basically eat what your body needs? Quote:

Count me in. I was thinking of doing still man or Dukan but I like that this allows for fat...I already baked a pan of chicken thighs, I have some tilapia in the freezer, and I'm all set for the week.
Is anyone else working out w this? |

Day 1 down. 1543 calories , 96 grams fat, 8 net carbs, 145 grams of protein. We went to a party last night which was alcohol, a meal and a big a$$ piece of cake!!! So I really didn't feel decent until tonight. I need to clear the trash out of my system. I would like calories just a bit lower. Closer to 1350 but I had an avocado (I will NOT waste a good avocado!!) But I think my numbers are not bad. This is a great plan to get back on track but I could not do VLC like this for the long haul but my goal is 2 weeks. My maintenance plan is not LC. So this is very foreign but I think it is very useful. I will post daily on how I feel as that is always the rate limiting step for me.

I am doing my part today though and make up pork loin roast ahead and now that you mention it I think I will make some egg salad or devilled eggs. Great idea. What stalls me: Peanuts LC ice cream

Still trying to get this going for myself. I can't stop gaining 1-3 lbs and losing the same 1-3 lbs, With zero cheating
! Any advice? Did m&e for a week lost 2 lbs and gained 2lbs every other day. Tried the next week lc (10-12g of carbs from veggies) lost two and a half lbs, gained 1.5. I have stayed between 173.5-171 for like two weeks and it's driving me nuts! Should I just go back to meat And eggs even though it did nothing? Stay lc? P.s. I seriously never cheat so why can't I lose any more weight. I got up to 210 from 160 with my last pregnancy:/ Lost the intial 35lbs from breastfeeding and am trying to lose this last 10-12 plus maybe 10 -15 more before I get preggo again. P.s it's been 11months! |

Also, I sometimes find that if I have my carbs too low when (ie. when I'm just doing my normal WOE) it either stalls me or makes me gain weight... I can't stay on Atkins induction too long because my body must think I'm starving it with only 20g n/c a day. I have also found that if I track ever single portion going into my mouth for 2 weeks I can usually pin point that my actual cals are too high (even though I only track carbs) and this can put me out. Or sometimes my protein is too high vs my fat etc. It's definitely worth trying to see where you might need to make some changes... hope this helps p.s. I try to keep my normal WOE at Fat: 70%, Protein: 25% & Carbs: 5% but this works for me, and everyone is a little different. Last edited by tashydoll; 03-03-2013 at 11:04 PM.. |

I think you also have to have a fairly high percent of fat with your meat and eggs or you will gain. Too much protein will make you gain if it isn't balanced with fat. Or that is how I understand it anyway. |

Dropped another lb this am. OK I am at 165 once again. I had gained three during our huge snowstorm. Out of electricity 32 hours so I ate so much snow ice cream it was sinful. But I'm back on track now. Sun is out and looks to be a pretty day rain moving in this evening maybe it will take some of this snow away it is a sloppy mess now.

I am doing a lower fat version of the original. Mine is 50% fat. When I did the original 80% fat, I was starved. There wasn't enough volume. Fat + meat = filling. Fat+Fat=starved. At least for me. But my grams of protein yesterday were 144 so thats probably twice what is recommended. But today is day 2. I'll let you know how it goes. |

Tashy, I went to lc going to see if getting back to this I can lose weight. My menu today will be, if I eat it all, fat:92 carbs:19 protein:115. How does that sound? Too high?

Ok, so I work that out as roughly F:60%, P:35%, C:5% and that may work for you, because everyone's body works differently. For me I need more like F:70%, P:25%, C:5%, but that's just my body. I find if I drop my fat too much below that then I am getting too much protein and therefore stall or gain weight.
Good luck... |

Tashy, thanks for that info! I'll will start upping my fat and lowering my protein. There doesn't seem to be a great big difference between my percentages and yours, do you think it makes such a difference? I am willing to do whatever works. Didn't realize it would be this complicated!
