Eggs or thighs, thighs or eggs...hungry? There's thighs or eggs!! I want to stop at 2 weeks and see where I'm at. My question is, how all you all balancing this? Does 50/50 sound right? Anyone tracking calories? I am and have it plugged in at 1500 calories but that ends up being 150 grams of protein! I'm going to give it a try even at that much protein as it is only 2 weeks. I will weigh in the am. These are a few vanity pounds but I think it will be an interesting experiment. Off to drink a glass of wine.....my last for 2 weeks!!

Becky!! Sounds like you're almost following Nutritional Ketosis principals. I feel much more sated and happy that way too. Do you watch calories of basically eat what your body needs?

Was still totall on plan yesterday, but in a rush all day and mostly processed meats. that is probably the culprit.
I agree with Becky Lori, process meat is a water sucker The great news is you're still down 3.6 in four days!

Back to the NK thought. I lost some on NK but not as well as M&E. I'm coming around to thinking that some of your stallers may be some of mine. This gives me a fresh way of thinking about this to start the week with. I haven't weighed the last two days with being sick and taking advantage of the treats DH has been bringing me to make me feel better. Tomorrow I face the music and start anew.

Count me in. I was thinking of doing still man or Dukan but I like that this allows for fat...I already baked a pan of chicken thighs, I have some tilapia in the freezer, and I'm all set for the week.

Is anyone else working out w this?

Day 1 down. 1543 calories , 96 grams fat, 8 net carbs, 145 grams of protein. We went to a party last night which was alcohol, a meal and a big a$$ piece of cake!!! So I really didn't feel decent until tonight. I need to clear the trash out of my system. I would like calories just a bit lower. Closer to 1350 but I had an avocado (I will NOT waste a good avocado!!) But I think my numbers are not bad. This is a great plan to get back on track but I could not do VLC like this for the long haul but my goal is 2 weeks. My maintenance plan is not LC. So this is very foreign but I think it is very useful. I will post daily on how I feel as that is always the rate limiting step for me.

Hi there. Sometimes on weekend days I just have to do processed because it is the easiest to throw on the foreman. But it is from the butcher, so not as bad as the pre-packaged grocery store stuff. I have 4 children and an insane schedule, so I'm lucky I'm not pulling my hair out a scarfing down carbs at this point. DH travels about 70% of the year and I work full time, so crazy schedule.

I am doing my part today though and make up pork loin roast ahead and now that you mention it I think I will make some egg salad or devilled eggs. Great idea.

What stalls me:
Peanuts
LC ice cream

Still trying to get this going for myself. I can't stop gaining 1-3 lbs and losing the same 1-3 lbs, With zero cheating! Any advice? Did m&e for a week lost 2 lbs and gained 2lbs every other day. Tried the next week lc (10-12g of carbs from veggies) lost two and a half lbs, gained 1.5. I have stayed between 173.5-171 for like two weeks and it's driving me nuts! Should I just go back to meat And eggs even though it did nothing? Stay lc?
P.s. I seriously never cheat so why can't I lose any more weight.
I got up to 210 from 160 with my last pregnancy:/ Lost the intial 35lbs from breastfeeding and am trying to lose this last 10-12 plus maybe 10 -15 more before I get preggo again.
P.s it's been 11months!

Hello... I know how much of a pain the 'yo-yo' is trust me!! Can I ask what a typical day for you on M&E would look like and maybe it might point out something that's different from the way I (or someone else on here) does it?
Also, I sometimes find that if I have my carbs too low when (ie. when I'm just doing my normal WOE) it either stalls me or makes me gain weight... I can't stay on Atkins induction too long because my body must think I'm starving it with only 20g n/c a day. I have also found that if I track ever single portion going into my mouth for 2 weeks I can usually pin point that my actual cals are too high (even though I only track carbs) and this can put me out. Or sometimes my protein is too high vs my fat etc. It's definitely worth trying to see where you might need to make some changes... hope this helps

p.s. I try to keep my normal WOE at Fat: 70%, Protein: 25% & Carbs: 5% but this works for me, and everyone is a little different.

I think you also have to have a fairly high percent of fat with your meat and eggs or you will gain. Too much protein will make you gain if it isn't balanced with fat. Or that is how I understand it anyway.

Dropped another lb this am. OK I am at 165 once again. I had gained three during our huge snowstorm. Out of electricity 32 hours so I ate so much snow ice cream it was sinful. But I'm back on track now. Sun is out and looks to be a pretty day rain moving in this evening maybe it will take some of this snow away it is a sloppy mess now.

I am doing a lower fat version of the original. Mine is 50% fat. When I did the original 80% fat, I was starved. There wasn't enough volume. Fat + meat = filling. Fat+Fat=starved. At least for me. But my grams of protein yesterday were 144 so thats probably twice what is recommended. But today is day 2. I'll let you know how it goes.

Tashy, I went to lc going to see if getting back to this I can lose weight. My menu today will be, if I eat it all, fat:92 carbs:19 protein:115. How does that sound? Too high?

Do you know how many cals in total so I can work out the percentages not just the grams?

Ok, so I work that out as roughly F:60%, P:35%, C:5% and that may work for you, because everyone's body works differently. For me I need more like F:70%, P:25%, C:5%, but that's just my body. I find if I drop my fat too much below that then I am getting too much protein and therefore stall or gain weight.

Good luck...

Becky, it's definitely taken me a while to work that out about myself and now that I have I'm pretty sure I should be able to get things moving again. Plus, I didn't realise for a while how out of whack my percentages were and only noticed once I started monitoring my food intake more closely.

Second day of M&E for me and feeling good... not nearly as hungry as I was the first time around too.

Progress:
Day 1: -1.3 (but had gained 2lbs with TOM and off l/c plan for a day)

Looking forward to tomorrow's weigh in and seeing everyone's awesome results!

Tashy, thanks for that info! I'll will start upping my fat and lowering my protein. There doesn't seem to be a great big difference between my percentages and yours, do you think it makes such a difference? I am willing to do whatever works. Didn't realize it would be this complicated!

Btw I would love to see everyone's stats and menus for today. I will be a regular addition to this forum and would love to get a little caught up! There seems to be some serious success on this forum!
I am 28, 5'7", 210(2nd pregnancy)/171/145.
Breakfast: 4 egg whites with a 1/4c jalapeños, coffee with 1tbsp HWC
Lunch: 4oz beef summer sausage, 2oz cheddar cheese, 1.5oz pork rinds, 5oz cauliflower, 1 tbsp ranch dressing(I was hungry!)
Dinner: 2 large ground turkey patties, 2.5oz cheddar cheese, a few slices of red onion and lettuce leaves and 2c of cabbage.

You're welcome for the information. I personally find just a that 5% adjustment makes a massive difference to my success... but like I said, that's just me (and Becky apparently!!) Just looking at your menu, can I make a suggestion.... eat the yolks!!!

My menu yesterday for M&E:
B: 1 x coffee with hwc (wasn't really hungry)
L: 3 x eggs scrambled with hwc
D: 3 x eggs fried in butter with 150grams of beef mince

Today so far:
B: 1 x coffee with hwc, 2 x scrambled eggs + 1/2 avocado
L: 1 x coffee with hwc, 150grams beef mince with seasoning, 1/4 avocado, 1tbsp sour cream.
D: (planned) 2 x chicken thigh fillets with seasoning.

Oh and of course....lots and lots and lots and lots of water
