Well hello ladies
![]() I have been dealing with some really uncomfortable tummy troubles!! I'm gonna go to the doctor and see if there's anything they can do for me. I have been taking, softener, and laxatives for so long that I may have done some damage? I almost called 911 on Saturday morning from the bathroom. I won't go into detail but I was so scared and in so much pain. NOT fun. But I'm still trying to stay optimistic so I don't start sliding backwards.... Has anyone tried hcg? I've been reading a lot about it and I really like the idea of re-setting my metabolism.

I'm wondering the same thing. I thought that this was supposed to be a temporary thing, like, only 14 days at the most (?). With this diet are you only supposed to eat meat and eggs? Is that a dumb question? Can you have butter and mayo or anything else?We 10 egg layers, and we can't eat the eggs up fast enough, so this may kill two birds with one stone. ![]() Thanks so much! Hi everyone!!! I have been pretty good since my last "hormonal binge" Yesterday I just ate tuna with mayo for lunch and chicken for dinner. So far today only eggs! Tippy toeing around dinner still.
Becky...I just recently started the M/E experimenting so I really don't have any real losses to report on it, however, I lost over 90 pounds on low carb since December of last year, started plateauing around September and was hoping the fasts would start moving things again. Lori...Thank you SO much! I thought I was going crazy here, the cravings around ovulation and then just a couple of days before TOM are unbearable! I will have to do some serious cooking and baking this weekend so I'm ready for the next "hatchling" LOL Oceana...I really do know what you are going through, I have the same problem. I been switching between softeners and laxatives every day and still have troubles. I have everything in my cupboard, from metamucil to enemas to suppositories, that's how traumatized I am from the blockage I had. There has got to be something that helps! By the way I did 2 rounds of HCG and It really kickstarted my losses, something I really needed when I first started at 260 pounds. Do I believe in the metabolism reset? Nopes! I see too many of my HCG friends struggle and regain the weight! Cindy-lou...I been hanging in there, have been actually pretty good since my marshmellow frenzy. I have decided to stop the daily weighing though, may that's one of the things that has been driving me crazy too, so I'm 3 days scale free LOL Jeneric...Hiya! Nice to have you with us! Can you send some of these layers? I'm eating eggs like they are going out of style! LOL

When you do the meat/egg diet, are your calories naturally lower because your appetite is less, or is there something magical about them? Do you count calories? And if so, how many do you try to stick with?

When I was in my early 20's, I'd lost 60 pounds. I maintained my weight of 160 pounds for a couple of years, and whenever I went over 1000 calories BOOM, I'd put on 5 pounds over night. So I hear ya!

![]() I did the same thing back in 2000, started at 268 pounds!!! Lost all the way down to 180ish and held it pretty good (with the occasional diet) for some years, and then just wham, I completely let myself go and before I knew it I was back up to 260 pounds! I am getting to old for this! So this time it better stick for good ![]() I forgot to add about the calorie intake, I am really a rookie at this meat/ egg fast and still have to ask loads of questions, but I'm sure the girls can help out! I usually try to stick around 1200-1400 calories, which is sometimes hard because I have become a cheese addict *sigh* Last edited by Erika1962; 12-11-2012 at 02:29 PM.. |

I stay around 1200-1400cals I get a lot of that from fat like hwc and co.
I'm now playing around with what works and not so I guess I'm doing m e with high fat,mod protein and LC. My food for today and yes you do eat less cause you are not hungry ,and some people put weight on when they eat veggies but if you stay with the LC ones its better.you have to remember this is a life change not a diet, you will feel good.i did keep my weight off for a year then I had to move out of a full time rv life style to move in with dad to care for him was very stressful ,so I ate all the foods that was bad for me. Food. 2 eggs 1oz macadamia nuts. Just tring today to see what happens 2 coffees with 2 tbs co 2oz hwc 4.5 oz chicken My cals was 1267 I was not hungry.. I make my own mayo..much better for you and I do use stevia..

portcop01 - Macadamia nuts? num! I used to make my own mayo. Works like magic. Do you have plans for what you're going to do to maintain this time around? Yes, it's a lifestyle, but what will your lifestyle be like as far as calories/carbs go? (Maintaining my losses is already a fear of mine.) Thanks for answering some of my questions.
Erika - I have one of those kind, too. lol I have watched your posts. You've done a great job! Now getting off the last 6 pounds is tough, not to mention maintaining. I'm afraid for you, since I know how hard it is. You've mentioned that JUDDD is hard for you (it is for me, too!), but have you thought that maybe once you've reached your goal maintaining by having an UD, with your DD as vlc, without calorie restriction? Those UDs are what keep me going. Any diet that incorporates an UD like that is much more attractive to me. ![]() |

Hello Everyone
I have only been here for a few weeks on the M&E but what I did was have B-Bacon and eggs and coffee with HWC L- tuna with mayo , or egg and mayo or chicken and mayo D- would be meat with mayo and horseradish mixed together and dipped my hamburger patty or steak in it You can have mayo and butter ( those are your fats) Meat and eggs some people had cheese but I didn't I only did this for 5 days at a time because by the 5 days I was craving my broccoli and cauliflower .... I lost 5 lbs and no I didn't gain it back once I added my veggies back Oceana is the best person to ask questions to ![]() |

That is great, Cindy-Lou and Becky! I haven't tried this yet, but reading the posts is encouraging.
I'm curious to see if following the meat and egg diet sporatically could help with maintenance. i.e. days of regular eating, intermixed with m/e, to keep the weight down. I don't know about you, but putting the weight back on is always ALWAYS on my mind since I did that once before. I didn't eat like a pig to gain it back either. It's your body struggling to get back to the higher set-point, most of the time. Last edited by jenericstewart; 12-12-2012 at 05:19 AM.. |

What bugs me is when I hear or see a weight success story on TV, and the person who's lost a massive amount of weight goes on to say that they'd previously typically eaten McDonalds for breakfast, McDonalds for lunch, McDonalds for supper, and a large Blizzard from Dairy Queen for dessert. Those kind of people make fat people in general look like all they're doing is eating like pigs. I've met a few fat people that are like that, but not all of them are. The one thing different is the McDonald is bad for them got lots of soy in there meat...some day it will catch up with them..and I don't believe they really can lose weight eating that...I can tell you I ate 10 lbs choc a day and lost weight but it was just that I said it but was not true..that's what hurts us people who say that..just like this LC sites some people say eat 60 grams protein some say eat 100 but you need to find out what works for you..that's what I'm doing now working on what works for me..listen to all what others say..it helps then apply it if it don't work I try something else...but alway stay under 20 grams of carbs cause I no for sure I'm carb sensitive .hope this helps

Good Morning Ladies and any men that might be lurking
![]() Congrats Becky your doing great!! and your so right about the "I think weight is like diabetes ...once you have a problem you all ways have to be on the watch you put in your mouth.." I compare my food addiction to being an alcoholic but worse...because we need food to survive ... Its tough buying all these rich sugary treats for the holidays...not because I want to eat them but because it's like a "hate food" for me now When I look at those foods I can feel my stomach in pain Last night I was in the grocery store getting the supplies for my daughters birthday tonight , so I stopped at the bakery to get her cake and I felt like I was "cheating" on myself for even being there lol So tonight I am making home made pizza for the gang and I will have an all meat/no crust one for myself I will be so full that the cake wont even look tempting to me ![]() Oceana -- I hope you feeling ok ![]() jenericstewart-- Im sure it would help with maintenance... just kinda play around with it...maybe do the meat and eggs for a few days then have a day with veggies then back to meat and eggs...I would say try it for a week... Good Luck...How long have you been doing LC and how much have you lost? Tina - I hope you doing well...miss seeing your post Erika - Hope you having a great LC Day Lori- I see your getting closer and closer to the goal good job |

Glad everyone is doing so well! Took the kiddies out last night. Yes, all 4, by myself! Quite brave of me, huh? Anyway, so was doing very well on my M&E, but choose (it is always a choice) to have a few (6) tortilla chips. Stopped after that and was very proud of myself.
Was worried about gain today, but was down about 1.5 pounds. Woohoo! Today: B: Coffee, HWC, splenda, CO S: meat and cheese - gift from vendors L: 6 wings, 1.5 oz ranch May not have anything the rest of the day because very full. Usually when I feel this full I go the rest of the day on only water. But if hungry: Grilled chicken in the fridge!

Wow lots of action goin on in the thread
I've been so busy it's been hard to post. Still not feelin 100% but on my way. Erika, maybe it has something to do with my intestines? I've had issues for so many years. Sometimes enemas don't even work because it doesn't make it that far...(gross sorry) That's too bad about the hcg. I read so many great things about it and I have some pellets... Oh well Jenericstewart, I feel like I eat so much and still come in pretty low in calories, I don't count, but did one day just to see and was around 1200. I try to get lots of fat from butter and mayo and now I eat more veggies every few days. I just find that I'm happiest and have the most energy when I eat really simple and stick to very low carb. As for maintenance, I think this would be great to do meat and egg every once in awhile! especially if weight was increasing quite a bit. Becky and Lori great job ![]() |

Good morning everyone
Low carbing has been going well until yesterday, when I had a really bad blowout at dinner, but it's ok, moving forward, at this point I just take it day by day, hoping to make it through the winter without gaining. Jeneric...I am scared myself believe me, those last 6 pounds (or more) are really not so important right now, but trying to hold my weight is. I think my hunger pains are a combination of the time of the year and my body panicking and trying to hold on to the weight. I wish I could do JUDDD, but right now it is just not working, my body must be feeling way too deprived on the DDs so it tries to catch up on the UDs, so I'm trying to stay around the same amount of calories a day to calm it down, it has gotten a little bit better so it seems to be working. Becky...You are right, I think of being overweight as a disease, and as such it must be treated. But instead of taking medication we must watch what we put in our mouths! By the way you are doing a fantastic job! Cindy-lou...you are doing great!!! Lori...Congratulations on the 180s!!! I am so happy for you!!! Oceana...You info about the enema is not too gross, I have been there and it scared the hell out of me. I was short of having to go to the ER, was horrfied by the idea of having to do that, and somehow managed to "take care" of things myself, the most horrible and disgusting thing I ever had to do to myself. That event made me run to the store to buy up any product available for this problem. I do have to add that a couple of weeks ago I tried the potato hack from the JUDDD side, eat nothing but potatos for several days in a row, I had no problems at all, WITHOUT taking any softeners or laxatives!!! I was thinking of actually trying this for a few weeks and see what it does, do Meat and Egg fast for a few days and then potato fasts for a few days, I guess you could call it carb cycling ( I love to experiment) It just might gets things moving again, in both losing and eliminating.
