Cookies and bread just turns my stomach just thinking about my blood sugar going so high and then WHAM I hit the floor because I am so tired...I KNOW I couldn't do this
M&E is the best way...

Oceana veggies once a week or so (the or so would be me) would be best...I can go about 3 days then I need something different and when I say different I mean I want some VEGGIES and fast lol

Tina I hope your having a better day

B-2 eggs fried in butter with 3 bacon , 1 ounce of cheese, coffee with cream and 1 sweetener...its funny but I think I can go down to 1/2 a sweetener because it's getting way to sweet for me

L- I think I will fry up a hamburger and have some mayo and cheese with it

D- going out to a psychic medium tonight so it will be something later on tonight...maybe bacon and eggs

BTW I forgot to say yesterday that my Family doctor was all for the LC...Her words were " its a great way of eating as long as you stick with it"
So thats 2 of my doctors (family doc and cardiologist ) that thing LC is great

They are starting to come onboard with us

Have a great day my LCF

Cindy-lou...you are soooo right, low carb is THE way to go, I actually have my 1 year anniversary TODAY on low carb and lost over 90 pounds on it. I do have my cheating days though, but I go right back to low carbing because I feel so much better on it

Cindy it must be so wonderful to have doctors that are on board! I can't find a great dr for the life of me

Erika I've always wondered about Juddd!? I don't want to diss on anyones way of eating but it seams to me that it would cause binging and eating things that aren't that healthy just because you can. I don't know, I could be totally wrong. That's just my thought on how it would go for me. I actually thought about doing it for a month just so I could eat brownies and frozen yogurt and then I realized I wanted it for ALL the wrong reasons so I snapped out of it!
Congrats on the 90lbs!! That's so impressive!

Thanks Oceana! And you are right with the binging, I had no problems the first couple of month on JUDDD ( started around June), and then around September a binge streak hit me. I guess the deprivation on the down days are too much for my body, and after losing so much weight it really started to fight back. So at the moment I dont really follow the strict rotations and along with very low carb it has helped me a lot with the over eating, I do have to add though that the girls over there are doing fantastic and losing or maintaining wonderfully!

Yeah I did notice that there were some women doing great on JUDDD
Just not for me. I guess I don't have enough will power if I have the mentality that I can have anything on up days.
I love low carb because it really gets rid of the "hungry all the time" feeling for me.
It's probably bad that I still think about doing it for a month just so I can eat things I really want to. Even though I know I'll feel like crap, but maybe the DDs even the bad feeling out?

Oceana, I have been having days where I just eat what I want, I try to keep them under control but they do happen, especially around ovulation and pms time I get ravenous! However, I realized that even if I have a complete uncontrolled day or two, as soon as I start getting back on the low carb wagon the weight goes back down, it may take a few days but it always goes down. Well you saw what happen to me after Thanksgiving! I had everything and anything I wanted, retained a whopping 7 plus pounds but it went away again! With that being said, I don't think I will be as hard on myself anymore, like I have been for the past 365 days, I'm not saying that I will stuff myself with chocolate or bread all day every day, but on special occasions like holidays or birthday celebrations I will not worry anymore what I eat, instead I will worry about the days in between those special ones! I wish I could continue with the JUDDD rotations like the girls over there do them, but it is just not working for me at the moment, not with my body fighting me like it is, it wants the 90 pounds back and that's not happening!!!!!!!

Good post Erika.
I guess I shouldn't worry so much about eating something "special" if I really want to and plan it. I didn't gain on thanksgiving and I ate a cupcake for breakfast and then some pumpking cheesecake.
So maybe this weekend I will have my frozen yogurt if I still really want it. This way im not just going on impulse so much because I'm somewhat planning it. And if I am not really really wanting it, then I won't have it.

Good morning everyone! Second day of M/E fast today, yesterday I stayed on track but scale is up a tiny bit this morning. No biggie, I know I'm retaining water because I woke up last night and had to get up and guzzle water, LOTS of water, don't know why I was so thirsty and the "gates" haven't opened yet today, hopefully it flushes out by tomorrow!

Menu plan for today is

B--none
L--eggs, tuna, mayo
D--not sure yet

12/05--168.2
12/06--168.4

Oceana...good idea on the planning, I think we need to "reward" ourselfs every once in a while! I don't see any harm in it as long as we get back on track!

I think a lot of my problem is that hubby is away this week (he's in England for work) and we hardly ever get to talk. Usually when he's away, we can talk at least a couple times a day. This time, he and his co-workers are going out every night doing stuff. He leaves his hotel at 8 his time and doesn't get in til like midnight his time. So he leaves too early to call me (3am my time) and by the time he gets in, he's very tired. At least he's managed to text me 1 or 2 times in the day the last couple of days. I guess I just feel like an afterthought.

I'm getting back on M/E today. Had cereal for breakfast but will have meat and/or eggs the rest of the day.

GOOD MORNING/AFTERNOON

Erika -- WOW congrats on the 90 lbs Thats what I need to lose

Tina-- Its very hard when the other half is not around...I know I would eat out of boredom before I started LC

Oceana -- We ALL deserve a "treat" once in a while ...just not EVERYDAY lol...like how I used to do

Becky --WOW when you "cut the cheese " you lost alot....Cheese is not my best friend either...I love it so I try and have only a little

B- 2 eggs fried in butter with 2 bacon

L- I'm thinking flakes of ham with mayo

D- I have no idea...maybe I will make a hamburger patti with mayo and horshradish and a little cheese

Dinnertime is my hardest time to be creative...anyone else have that problem?

Good morning ladies

I'm holding steady at 139. I made a pact with a guy friend that's a professional boxer that we would lose 5lbs by christmas. Then start working out to build a lil muscle and tone up

Erika, my weight goes all over the place with water weight! I feel like i've been drinking so much water and it's just staying in me! I agree with Becky on the fat, It really helps to lose pounds and keep you feeling full.

Becky you lost that weight quick! Great job

Tina, So sorry hubbys far away!! You can talk to us whenever you need to, We're here for support, not just low carb support. Hope you have a great day

Cindy, I just wanna eat steak all the time so I don't really have that problem lately :/

Everyone enjoy the day... It's cold and rainy here

Hiya Becky and thank you for the pointers! I guess I'm still a little apprehensive about the fat I know I have to add more butter and mayo, and I guess I have to really leave my beloved cheese out Do you go to a certain percentage of daily fat intake? Also, calorie wise, what is the minimum/ maximum you consume? Any help would be greatly appreciated

B- 2 eggs fried in butter, slice of ham , coffee with hwc and sweetener

L- Angus burger (no bun) from McDonald and a diet coke

D- 2 donair sausage with mayo to dip

I was up a pound this morning ...haven't lost anything all week
time to rethink what I am doing wrong

Cindy, Sounds like it's time to switch it up
I wonder if it's the sugar alcohols they subtract on the bars? If there are SA I would bet on that.

Hope everyone is doing well this weekend!
I had some frozen yogurt last night. I had planned yesterday to be a higher carb day...
I ate some sausage for breakfast, then we went to my favorite mexican place for dinner. I planned on eating nachos but instead I had steak and shrimp and it was so yummy!! I asked for no rice and tortillas. I ate some beans so I really didn't go ALL out like planned. It's like I have myself trained pretty well

I found out the frozen yogurt I love so much is full of probiotics and no added sugar so it's not as horrible as I always thought! Now, all the topping I put on it was a big no no. I ate it and I know I would have enjoyed it much more without the toppings anyway.
Kind of a breakthru for me

Well, I fell off the wagon big time, pms does it to me EVERY month! Whats crazy about this is, I never had this before, this just started may be 2-3 month ago, and every month like clockwork I have these carb binges, twice a month! I went from December of last year to September of this year without any of this, without ANY cheating at all, my body just plain going bonkers on me

Cindy-lou...way to go

Oceana...I will have to look for frozen yogurt like that, it sounds like a really healthy treat!

Erika what are you craving, sweets or sugar?
I know the other day I couldn't get nuts out of my mind...so I went for a drive to the country store and got some cashews and they were salty ...come to find out all I wanted was the "salt" I could have licked the bag

If its salt maybe try adding a little more salt to your meals...thats what I have been doing ...I add salt to my eggs in the morning and it seems to help with the "salt craving"

Funny thing is I NEVER used to cook with salt...NEVER and now I do

As for the sugar craving....make a low carb/low sugar desert...maybe it will be enough
I tired these and they are good

Peanut Butter Cookies

1 cup of all natural /no sugar added peanut butter
1 1/2 cup of Splenda
1 egg
Cooking Spray

Preheat oven to 350. Mix Peanut butter, Splenda, and egg in a bowl. Spray cookie sheet with cooking spray. Roll peanut butter mixture into balls and place on cookie sheet.

Cook for 10-15 minutes, or until cookies are solid.

Hope they help
BTW they freeze well that way when you need something sweet just pop a few in your mouth and you should be good to go

Cindy-lou, my every day cravings must be salt, because I have been eating extra sharp cheddar like it's going out of style, mind ya I don't even LIKE cheddar!!! Now to the bi-monthly cravings ( ovulation and PMS ), they are all about sugar, I pigged out on some marshmellows and Ice cream yesterday, then I topped that off with a whole sleeve of ritz crackers, the funny thing also, it NEVER hits me until night time, I'm already in bed when for some reason I need to get back up and graze. I never experienced this before and I did some VERY low calories and carbs for my first 60 pounds lost, never cheated once, never had a craving, for nine straight month! Could it be the time of the year? Body trying to actually conserve what it has? I just don't know anymore
By the way, thanks for the recipe May be this is something I need to do, PREPARE for the emergency, bake a bunch of low carb cookies and freeze them, that way when I do have my spells I would do a lot less damage

Forgot to ask...do you use an online calorie counter?

Maybe get some blood work done...maybe your "hormones" are a little messed up
isn't is great being a woman...

Erika - I agree about preparation. I also have the craving problem twice a month! I also try to have items in the freezer (cream cheese clouds, peanut butter/dark chocolate fat bombs, etc) or fridge (cream cheese muffins, sweet One Minute Muffins/chream cheese, fried bacon) for "emergency situations". The cream cheese clouds saved me from a nasty binge last weekend (ovulating!).

Last night I discovered another wonderful delicacy. HWC/davinci SF chocolate - whipped to stiffness and spread over fresh raspberries...YUM!

I like to keep great tasting LC stuff in the house and be creative when I get my cravings. Last night wasn't really a craving though. I made the raspberries and WC for the kiddies and they loved it! I just had a taste.

Cindy - thank you, thank you, thank you...I have wanted a good SF PB cookie recipe for a few weeks now. I have been just too busy (translated lazy ) to look one up!

I keep lurking, because I want to get back to meat and egg fast, but DH is out of town and it is very difficult to prepare when feeding my crew of 4, which also contains 2 teenage boys! No leftovers! Even when I think there are leftovers, they somehow manage to disappear overnight!

I am going to try a modified meat and egg starting today: All meat and eggs with the ocaissional inclusion of a one minute muffin. I would like to get deeply into the 180s so that when I start fluctuating I do not ever see the 190s again!

Today:

B: decaf coffee, 1 TB coconut oil, 2 TB HWC, 2 splenda
L: either 1/4 one minute muffin and 1 TB cream cheese, or 6 mild wings w/ranch
D: grilled chicken
S: HWC / dt soda

(Sorry for the book)
