You know what? I just have to say a plain Chobani yogurt with a teaspoon of cocoa and a little stevia has gotten me past wanting dessert many a time now.

And the oat bran bars have helped keep me satisfied through this kitchen remodel. I am sooo tired tonite--worn out from being under construction the last 5 weeks. On top of that, I'm sleep deprived from waking up during the night with thoughts racing thru my head

Thank goodness for some chocolate that is on plan Just stopped in here to say that. That is all. Haha

Hi Dukaniestas!

I found an interesting blog--flamidwyfe. It's been interesting following her Dukan journey. She lost 111 lbs 😳 I think it was in 2012. Her most recent posts indicate she gained 30 lbs back, which was sad for me to hear and I take it as a cautionary tale about being diligent with consolidation phase and maintaining. I so do not want to do this weight loss thing over and over again she is back on cruise phase and taking it off once again. Cheers to her for keeping at this.

I may bbl to post more. Going back to sleep for awhile

besides the scale moving along for me, my blood sugar is improving significantly.

I'm in the final countdown now for my surgery on Monday--4 more days! So, if I'm not around after next week for awhile, I will post when I'm feeling up to it again.

Dukan Day 47, down 18 lbs... Can't complain about that.

Dukan Day 50
⬇ 19 lbs

Dukaniestas, keep the thread going for me while I'm gone.

Tomorrow is new knee day for me. I'm packing my oat bran bars for the hospital haha. I'm still quite happy with my new woe.

Here's a quick recipe I'm thinking I might try:

Minute Microwave Cheesecake

2 ounces cream cheese, softened (nonfat)
2 Tbsp sour cream (nonfat)
1 egg
½ tsp lemon juice
¼ tsp vanilla
2-4 Tbsp Splenda (taste as you go)

Mix all ingredients thoroughly in a microwave-safe bowl. Cook on high heat for 90 seconds, stirring every 30 seconds incorporating all ingredients. Refrigerate until serving.

Makes one, one-cup serving.

Nutritional Information per serving: Calories: 299, Carbohydrates: 2.5 g, Fiber: 0 g, Net Carbohydrates: 2.5 g, Protein: 11 g, Fat: 27.6 g (fat obviously less for Dukan version)

a quick check-in...

Came thru surgery well. Now working on rehabbing my knee at home. When I got home from the hospital, three days after surgery, my weight was up by 22lbs. I was majorly freaked out by this but am told that amount of swelling can be expected with a major surgery. I dropped 14 lbs over the first week at home then the rest of it since then.

I'm eating Dukan Protein/Veg every day for now to keep things moving while on pain meds. I've been eating very light and my appetite has just come back in the last couple of days.

DH made the Mardi Gras Jambalaya recipe off the Dukan website last night and it is quite good--lots of leftovers for the weekend. He used less shirataki rice in the recipe and less Andouille sausage than called for.

I'm continuing with my original Cruise Phase countdown. I don't really feel like I was thrown off track by the time in the hospital. I've been able to easily eat on plan the whole time. Hopefully I can get back to alternating Pure Protein days soon. We will see what this week brings.

Natosha, I use 1% cottage cheese because I can get it with no salt. It is allowed on Dukan. As far as I know, chicken thighs are ok. I eat them without skin when we eat tandoori chicken at the Indian restaurant or go out for BBQ. I also eat whole eggs. I can't remember what the book says about the amount. I don't think I would worry about them, though.

The recipe we used from the Dukan website last night called for chicken sausage, so I know it's allowed. I don't eat sausage often, though, because the sodium content is higher and causes too much water retention for me. If I'm losing slower than I would like, I definitely cut out sausage completely.

As for bacon, it is not a food that is on plan. I know of someone who lost 111 lbs and ate bacon regularly. So, it's possible to continue to lose while eating it. I've had a few tastes of bacon here and there, but prefer to wait until a later phase to include it.

I hope you're continuing to get good results. Cheers!

I got an offer today from Dukan to do their coaching program at 1/2 off (14.98/mo) so I decided to join. I was given a lower target weight since I've already lost 23lbs and also a new date for starting consolidation phase. So, the adventure continues...

I am reading info on the Dukan website today and see that I was wrong about bacon being on plan. As long as it is reduced fat bacon, it is allowed. I probably won't eat it very often, though, because of the sodium, even in the reduced sodium brands.

I see that kosher low fat (97% fat free) franks are also on plan. I wondered about these but same problem for me--the sodium. Good to know, though, for when I get a hankering for tossing a couple on the grill. I do really like the Hebrew National ones.

Anyway, having fun with access to new material.

Here Again!

Hi: I did Dukan over a year ago and lost 10 lbs. Kept it off and now am back on Attack. Have lost a pound so far in two days. I would like to know how much yogurt you are eating each day. The yogurt with bran is my actual life saver in terms of staying on plan. Usually I wait until evening to eat but curious as to amount. Slipped up one day with some popcorn (lite) and some shredded lettuce. Did not lose that day. For me the low fat aspect is a big help. On Atkins I do not lose and have to count calories. Anyway, hope all of you are losing.

Hi SuzeQ

Glad to see you here. Congrats on your success! I agree the Dukan woe does get the weight to move.

I have one or two yogurts practically every day. Since I eat the nonfat yogurts flavored with fruit, they are limited to 2. Often I have a tsp of chocolate with plain yogurt.

Natosha, I came across an answer to your question about how many eggs per day from one of the live chats on the Dukan site. They say 8 per day are allowed! That is provided one's cholesterol levels are not high.

Hope you're doing well still.

You are rocking it Sue I lurk here most everyday

I no longer do Dukan. I just do low fat and calorie watching but I did well when I did Dukan and it is a great plan. Carry on and hope you are well healed now.

Thank you so much for the encouragement. I'm glad you had success with Dukan.

I'm lucky it has gone so well for me this time around. I feel like I really found what can work for me in the long run.

Stop in and post here more often. It's good to hear from you. Let me know how you're doing with low fat and calorie watching. Sounds similar to how Dukan plays out for me. I wish you all the best.

I'm missing hearing from my Dukan buddies here

There's a Dukan forum out there, but not very active. There are other woe's that overlap principles. I notice there are a lot of similarities to Stillman's on the Pure Protein Dukan days. And I also see there are a lot of people who follow the JUDD woe. That plan reminds me of doing alternating days on Dukan. So anyway, just rambling here.

Come on in and share thoughts with me.

I know this thread seems to be fading away but I wanted to share my excitement that I am down almost 70lbs now off my top weight! Woohoo. I've had a rough couple of months with my health and especially getting my digestive system working again after a major surgery but I'm starting to see the scale heading downward once again.

I'm just now becoming able to add some exercising in to my days so I'm hoping to see even more of a boost in my results; Dukan calls it a required part of his plan. I'm still getting coaching encouragement every day from his site, which has helped me a lot. And I want to thank all my friends here for cheering me on, also.

I hope to hear soon how everyone is coming along and putting together a plan to fit their personal lifestyle. I've had to do a number of tweaks over time, especially lately to accommodate Dr's orders and eating to heal my body. I'm wondering what creative solutions others have come up with.

Cheers to all,

Sue

Wow.. 70 lbs is excellent, I just started and on the 2nd day. I have a question about the dairy and carbs I don't understand. Low fat dairy have a fair amount of carbs, skim milk, yogurt (6 oz of yogurt are 12 grms of carbs) Dukan says in the book that NF dairy is practically pure protein....Do these grams of carb don't matter? Especially if yogurt is unlimited?
Also the fake crab meat...I was going to buy a couple of packages, but each little stick was 12 grms of carbs...I can eat easy 4 bars or more...it all seems like much carbs? I'm a little confused..is Dukan ok with carbs?
Thank you kindly

Hi shapeup1, sorry I didn't see your post before now. There's no carb counting on Dukan, just focusing on lean proteins and vegetables. So don't worry about the dairy. I don't eat the faux crab, I use real crab instead. Just be careful to not overdo it with the carby one, especially on your PP days.

How are you coming along? I imagine you are well onto cruise phase by now

Happy Dukaning.

Ok thanks I understand now that he dislikes more fat than carbs. I did it by the book and lost 4.5 lbs the 1st 5 days. The cruz faze came in handy as I can't take anymore the protein restriction. (I like rib steaks, ribs etc)

So the lean meat sucked...the vegetables gave a diversion. Lucky I have low carb BBQ sauce.

I will have to see I may eventually have to add fattier cuts down the road if not I'm going to blow it..I find this tougher than an atkins type of diet.

I bought a fresh salmon steak cooked half 6oz's did nothing I was still hungry ate the other half....I imput it in my fit day and it has a cazzilion calories and fat...the calories must have bearing in this.... anyhow I will continue and see how it works out.

ok starting day one but right away so tasteless about ideas .

breakfast chicken breast with 4 egg whites and onion powder and black pepper seasoned . 2 cups of tea with splenda.

I really craving hot sauce to flavor but not sure if salt be too much or is this ok?

I think want to get some cheese fat free ricotta or cottage cheese as well to moisten the choice up as well.

I know its not a carb thing and calorie thing just lean protein but is egg yolks ever allowed other than two like anymore, some said they have more than two but others are saying just 2. I have the book and confused because it says eggs are allowed than says 2 a day and cholesterol thing but does that mean only if have high cholesterol to limit or to have only 2 either way.

I wasn't sure I had just egg whites just incase, but if I'm going to live lean I wonder if there is any chance to eat like any thing with some salt in it . Hot sauce, cottage cheese, mustard, etc..

please I could really use some help

Splenda is ok , so is the hot sauce. Salt depends how you react , if you retain water than better stay away from it. Me thinks all that salt can't be good for you ...
