I just had a fabulous lunch at a burrito bar restaurant here in our little town. You can pick and choose what you want and I always have gotten it on a plate rather than wrapped in a tortilla. The only difference today was that I didn't have any rice, beans or corn. I had:

Shredded roasted pork
Shredded cheese
Pico de Gallo
Diced tomatoes
Sliced scallions
Raw zucchini cut into matchsticks
Fresh cilantro
Guacamole

Oh man......I could eat that every day!

Oh that sounds good! Mexican is one of my favorites! I am still a little uneasy eating out. Not completely confident in myself!

YAY! Tresa! So glad you're enjoying the journey!

I went to my early morning boot camp class and only had a protein shake when I got home. I'm starting to get a bit snacky, so I guess I'd better eat a bite. I'm going to get a nice big salad for lunch.

Not sure what dinner will be. Probably turkey and cheese in a low carb tortilla. That is my go to when I don't know what to have.

Enjoy your day!

Aww, thanks. Today went well so far. Omlette for breakfast, soup for lunch, probably liver for dinner.

The end of the week is in sight! YAY! We did boxing at boot camp this morning...always fun.....and sweaty!

Last evening has been my hardest time so far. I just couldn't get my stomach satisfied! I finally ate 2 hot dogs(no buns of course) of all things! That seemed to do the trick, but it wasn't ideal. You do what you gotta do, you know?

One of my friends messaged me last night and wants to play golf on Saturday! Imagine......in November in Pennsylvania! It's supposed to be in the 50's and sunny...we'll have fun.

Let me know how you all are doing!

Lori, you are doing great.

I just don't seem to make it through a dah. Think the best for me right now is to go back to PHD which allows a bit of "safe" starches until after the holidays. That will keep me from going overboard on something worse. I will stop in to cheer you on and see how your efforts are paying off.

Good luck to you Cici. We each need to find our own way.

I'm still doing well. I'm playing golf this weekend which means a couple lite beers, but Diane says that's ok as long as I'm not going off plan otherwise. A girl's still gotta live, you know?

Week 4 begins on Monday....almost half way thru Step 1!

Almost finished my 2nd week! Yay! I am having trouble eating though. Just not hungry. Hope it doesn't mess up something down the road though.

CiCi - I just noticed the link in your signature. Glad I found it! What is PHD? Hope you do well on it. For me, I tried and tried to follow Atkins and I couldn't get past a week. You will find what works for you!

Lori - yay! half way through step 1. That is what is keeping me going. Seeing the options in step 2.

Hi Everyone!

Hope everyone is having a great "on plan" weekend! We had a beautiful day here yesterday and I was on the golf course all day. Supposed to play again today, but rain is heading this way. I'm waiting to hear from my friends to see if we're going to go or not.

The husband and I just got back from a 2.5 mile run. Nothing like an early morning exercise session. I'm feeling quite thin this morning as I wore a Tec shirt to run and it used to make me feel like a stuffed sausage and this morning it was quite comfy and I even had some room to spare!

Just got a call from my golf friends.....golf is cancelled for the day. Guess I'll be puttering around the house.

Happy Monday!

I had a brutal boot camp workout this morning after a restless night of sleep. I think I'll be in bed extra early tonight!

I had to weigh in as part of the challenge at boot camp, so I weighed on my scale before I went, just to compare. After 3 good weeks on MM, I'm down 5 lbs. I have to say it feels like more....just as Diane said it would! I'm quite sure I won't win the challenge at boot camp, but no matter. The important thing is to keep plugging along and doing the best I can.

Week 4 starts today. The halfway point of step 1 already! Actually, I'll be staying on Step 1 thru the end of the year. I'll give myself an extra week to take care of any transgressions over the holidays! I'm hoping not to have any, but figure the odds!

Have a good Monday!

Hmmm........is anyone still here with me? Tresa...how are you doing??

I'm plugging along with no problem. I had to be in to work early today, so no boot camp. I'll get to leave early this afternoon, so I'll head home and hit the treadmill. It is too cold and windy to enjoy running outside. I can take a bit of cold, but the wind makes me crazy!

Hope someone pops in here soon......I'm getting lonely!

Well.......it helps that I'm not only doing this for weight loss, but to get myself out of this pre-diabetic condition. When I feel like faltering, I just remind myself that I DO NOT want to go down the diabetes road!

Boot camp has also given me some "mental toughness" that helps when facing something a bit difficult.

As our trainer says "Mind right, body right!"

Cici...you'll get on track when it's right for you. Keep the faith!

Day 4 of my 3rd week! So far, so good!

Wow Lori, you are doing great! I am still at it. Doing fine eating the right things, but I need to get in gear with my exercise and water consumption.

Hoping to do well for the upcoming holiday. It will be verrrrry hard to pass up those potatoes. They are my biggest weakness.

Good going Tresa! You will do fine over the holidays. The hardest thing for me will be the stuffing. I could eat mounds of it!! Oh.......and the sinful peanut butter fudge that one of my guests always makes! OY!

I'm really not struggling at all with this way of eating. I'm even starting to enjoy the unsweetened almond milk! I could put some Truvia in it, but I try to stay away from all artificial sweetners as much as possible.

I'm in my 4th week now. Tomorrow will be a bit more of a struggle because I've decided to take the day off work to just putter around the house. In the past, that has been a recipe for grazing all day. I'll have to be strong enough to not let that happen.

I'm busy all weekend, so it'll be nice to have tomorrow to just do nothing! Oh.....I guess I should go to boot camp though..

Have a great day!

Sounds like you have a good plan Lori. The boot camp sounds interesting.

My biggest problem was when I was home too. I think you are right - staying busy you don't really think about eating too much.

We had a luncheon today (I work at a school). I did pretty good - just ate turkey, a tomato, mozzarella, and avocado salad, and just a tablespoon-sized serving of mashed potato. I know the potato was the worst thing I could have, and I hope I didn't do too much harm. I could have eaten the entire pan!

Well, I blew off boot camp today. I slept in till 6 and didn't feel like going to the 8:30 class. I did hit my treadmill for 2.5 miles, so at least I did something today.

I did a bit of munching today, but stayed on plan. Ate some cheese & nuts when I just had to have something.

Shopping with friends tomorrow and off to a casino with my sister on Sunday...busy, busy!

Have a great weekend!

Monday again! Beginning of week 5!!

The cold weather is really bothering me the last few days. Maybe because I don't have as much "insulation" as I had last year? Going out to boot camp this morning when it was 20 degrees was rough!

Tresa..how is it going for you? Hope you are enjoying the process.

Cici...if you're lurking, hope you are doing well too.

Hi Everyone! Hope you had a fabulous Thanksgiving Day!

I was on my feet for HOURS cooking & cleaning up for 11 people. I ate great, just turkey & sauteed green beans. I did have 1 glass of wine & 1 lite beer..trust me, I needed them! My kitchen table has all manner of pie, fudge and homemade candy on it, but I haven't touched it!

I had my final weigh in for the November challenge at boot camp this morning. I lost 9.2 lbs! Not sure if that's enough to win the challenge, but I did my best.

Tresa, how did the day go for you?

Still staying strong here! I'm hoping we have some new members here after the New Year. I'll be starting Step 2 after the 1st of the year. I need to do some reading to be sure I understand the next step. Diane recommends not reading too far ahead. You really need to focus on the step you're on at the time and not worry about the next phase.

It's funny how the fudge & other sweets that are here at my house are not even tempting to me. Usually I would have eaten SO much junk on the weekend after Thanksgiving.

I'll be glad when the next 2 days are over. Deer hunting season...ugh. My husband, his brother, our son and grandson will be going out hunting. I have to make breakfast for them before they go and then I hope I'll have time to get to boot camp. Back to work for me after being off nearly a week. I'll be busy playing catch up and getting ready for month end stuff.

Hope all is well in MM land!

Well done, Lori! Is that just for one month? Given your level of exercize, you have probably also gained some muscle and displaced more fat than shows on the scales.

I am getting ready for a start on Weds after a holiday brunch on Tues. I have been pushing cranberry juice for a UTI, which is backing off. If it isn't gone by Tues., I will have to go get some antibiotics. The plan is ten days meat and eggs, then add veggies. This is basically the way Dukan starts and not far fromMM.

Hi Cici!

Yes, that loss is for the month of November. I'm quite happy with losing that much. I'm hoping you're right and that I built some muscle during the month too!

Good for you for jumping back in next week. Your plan sounds like a great start. I did Dukan at the beginning of the year, so I'm quite familiar with it.

Let us know how you're doing.

Hi Lori and CiCi

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving. Mine was a little too great, but I am back on track. I guess I will just start my 8 weeks over since I was just starting my 3rd week.

Why are carbs so hard to stay away from!!!

Tresa...you are probably wise to restart your 8 weeks if you had more than 1 meal that was not on plan. I think for every off plan event in 5 hrs you are to add 3 days to your Step 1. If you had a couple days of off plan...a restart sounds like the thing to do.

I don't think I've broken plan, but I'm going to add a bit over a week so I'm beginning Step 2 on January 1.

We can do it girls!
