Paranoidsoutherner 05-01-2012 06:44 PM

May 1st ... 182.8
So very excited!!!!

I also wanted to share that I had a goal of 8 pounds in April. I lost 10!!! Woohoo. Just so stinking happy :)

Blondey63 05-01-2012 08:28 PM

Thanks Faithful and Purrcy. I took stool softeners last night and just took a few more...am hoping tomorrow morning things get moving....will down some more large glasses of water soon.

Paranoid...Congrats, Congrats, Congrats....way to exceed your goal!!!! Glad you are stinking happy!!!

iamfaithful 05-02-2012 12:24 AM

Paranoid the link worked! & WTG on the goal exceeded! :goodpost: !

Blondey the stool softners NEVER worked 4 me... Here is hopeing you have success! If not remember themagnesium. :hugs:

stilldews 05-02-2012 12:06 PM

Great work paranoid. Blondey sounds like you're dealing with one of the same problems many of us have had on Dukan. You much want to try a few cups of senna tea a day. I resorted to Correctol occasionally while on Cruise, but rarely have any problems now. Not sure why because I'm eating very much same as PV days with just a little fruit added now and then, but do seem to be much more regular.

Weight today was 146.6, so stablization is going very well inspite of a few bad days now and then. I think getting weighed faithfully every day really helps to keep me on track.

Blondey63 05-02-2012 02:24 PM

Great job on stabilization Stilldew! The stool softeners have not worked yet. Faithful, I just bought the magnesium. It's a veggie day so I will have a small salad with dinner and that will hopefully help also. In spite of being backed up, the scale was down a lb today so I am back in the 180's! just barely but yeah! Sticking to the plan and am happy about that...just checked my blood sugar and it was 87, a new low, this morning it was 118 which was also a new low. My day sugars are good, I want to get my wake up blood sugar between 70-100. I am hopeing another month eating right will get me there. I am also hopeing by June 1st, I am in the 170's. I will keep up trucking. Thanks for letting me share with y'all! Helen

Blondey63 05-02-2012 03:02 PM

ok, just checked my bmi. Currently 189lbs. @ 5'5" gives me a BMI of 31.4 which is obese. To get in the highest normal range for my height, I need to be 149 #'s which is a bmi of 24.8. My true weight is 152. Just interesting information to share.

Paranoidsoutherner 05-03-2012 04:12 AM

Stilldews - I'm dreaming of the days I can say I'm staying around 146!!! It's great to have those who have reached their goal staying there & encouraging us!!

Iamfaithful - same to you^^^ big thanks to you both!!

Blondey63-- I'm 5'6 & my true weight was determined to be 154. I'm guessing my extra inch gives me two pounds ha!! I have looked at some charts that show that would put me 1 whole pound in to healthy weight. I am keeping the goal for now but I already plan to lose a little more maybe shoot for 145 but first gotta get the true weight :)

Today --- 181.4 woooohooo. Just might see a 170 something by weekend lol

This month I'm pushing myself. Goal to lose 10lbs - I've also set a goal to do a boot camp workout everyday in addition to my 30 or more walking/jogging. I've got to tone up for my vacation.

iamfaithful 05-03-2012 06:50 AM

Ladies I have yet to reach what Dukan has determined to be my true weight (162). My age & health are factors in determining TW but I am not in a rush to get there... I remember how the tortise won the race so I am patient. It has taken me over 16 years to go from 239. Long times of not losing & changing my way of eating & activity. Dukan got the last 17+ pounds off last year then more came off this wear when I dropped off the Breyer's before bedtime. Now I think it will take geting more activity & exercise. Now that the house is finished & I am healthier we will see what this old body would like to do next SO LONG AS IT IS NOT GAIN!

I found a split skirt in my closet. I bougt it 20+ years ago when it was in style. I still have a few wasteline inches for it to fit right. It has been my goal! One day I will put it on & actually wear it for atleast a day!

Keep on ladies! good work!

Blondey63 05-03-2012 03:27 PM

Keep up the good work Paranoid...I am hoping that you make it to the 170's real soon! You are doing a great job.

Faithful, great job on what you have accomplished so far...no race to get into the skirt but you will be there before you know it! Keep up the good work!

Got on the scale this morning and was up a half lb to 189.5...not surprising considering my bathroom issues...was uncomfortable all day...bloated....had a little relief when I got home today so I feel a tad better. But, I do like to torture myself, so dropped the clothes, hopped on the scale and it said 190....I should have been happy that it was only up a half lb from this morning...since I ate breakfast and lunch... 1/2 lb was not bad but I had hoped to see the scale go down. The kids had just gotten home from school and were having their snacks and there was that bag of popcorn on the table and it reached out and grabbed me.....I ate maybe 2 cups worth...it was delicious. My first faux pas....I will try not to beat myself up over it. I won't eat anything else off plan today for sure. My stomach is still bothering me....am hoping to get back on track soon. I took more magnesium and ss and hopefully can drink a ton of water tonight and get things really moving. All I can do is keep on trucking....

iamfaithful 05-03-2012 08:43 PM

Helen, I'm proud of you! This time is the last time you will start healthy eating! I have confidence yiu will make it all the way this time!

Blondey63 05-04-2012 05:35 AM

ok, lost that 1/2 lb and another so back to where I was before Tom... 188.5.... am keeping my fingers crossed now that I will be on a downward trend until Tom rears his ugly head again. Have a great day everyone!

Bejewelme 05-04-2012 06:13 AM

Girls he says my true weight is 198 which was my doctors goal and I am still not there, so I am thinking they are right since it seems ridiculous that I cant lose a pound or two more, LOL I am not worrying so much with that scale it makes me crazy and mad so now that I can work out I am feeling so much better!!!! It feels great to be back at the gym and feeling good again!

iamfaithful 05-04-2012 11:03 AM

Hey Amber! What do we care what the :weigh: says as long as we are in a small(er) size, look decent & are healthy & happy? What's in a number anyway!

Keep pluging at it til you get to that happy spot!

Paranoidsoutherner 05-04-2012 09:32 PM

I'm going to remember to not care about the scale when I hit a stall. :)
Considering I've not been 154 in over 18 years I'm thinking it's pretty far fetched. But I'm shooting to it. My sister is an inch taller than me &she is usually between 145-155. I'm just going to get where I can - keep focus on exercise and good food. & be healthy!!

Of course I should say at least two days a week my scale goes up a pound Or so... But then drops back for an overall loss. That's why I'm big on daily weigh ins! But I never let that number bug me.

But that wasn't easy those first couple months. At this point I can say "oh what's a pound...when Im still down 40". :) I really just look for the positive.

I just spent a day with my parents & daughter... They ate tons of carbs. Cheetos in the car. Java chillers - which I googled while waiting on it 800+ calories in that one drink .... I was never once tempted for any junk. Shocked me as much as them!!! But I am just never hungry except for meals & then I eat what's allowed.

I remember being hungry those first few months & I'd eat more egg whites or turkey slices. Love the diet because you can eat just you have to eat what's allowed!

Blondey63 05-04-2012 10:18 PM

keep up the good work ladies!

iamfaithful 05-05-2012 10:48 AM

I am so happy for ya'll!!! :kicking: I keep thinking any day % will make another push for a permanent 5LB loss but just too tired after the remodel to focus right now. Family moving in on the 15th. Khugs:

Blondey63 05-05-2012 08:01 PM

Scale was the same today...blood sugar numbers were good! Hope everyone had a great day!

Blondey63 05-06-2012 11:02 AM

mini whoosh...down 2 lbs because things were working in the bathroom today! Woohoo....13 lbs. 21 days.

iamfaithful 05-06-2012 07:35 PM

:jumpjoy:Helen, I am so happy for you!:jumpjoy:

Did you figure out what worked for you?

I am so glad we are to share these wonderful accomplishments! WTG!

Blondey63 05-06-2012 09:10 PM

Thanks Faithful...I appreciate the support. I've been taking the magnesium and the ss and trying to make sure I drink all my water. That helped apparently! Have a great Monday everyone!

Paranoidsoutherner 05-06-2012 09:40 PM

Glad you saw the drop Blondey63!!

stilldews 05-06-2012 11:58 PM

13 pounds in 21 days is terrific! Anything in the 8-10 pound/ month range is doing great after the first month, so don't be discouraged if things slow down a little from now on. My TW was calculated as 154. Think my age of 63 and my highest ever weight of 255 figured into that a lot. I need to get to 145 to be at what the BMI scale considers normal wt., so I'm very close to that now. Lowest I've been since my mid 30's and finding if I can just stay away from sugar and grains 95% of the time it's not hard to maintain. Finding I can get by with eating some beans, nuts and 1-2 fruits daily with no problems. I also eat about a TB a day of coconut oil in my sugarfree chocolate treat.

Am growing a lot of vegetables this year in my garden. Found that I love Swiss Chard! Never ate it before. Here's how I cooked it a couple days ago.

Heat 1 tsp coconut oil in skillet and add some finely diced green onion and some minced garlic. Heat to just slightly brown, then add Sliced Swiss Chard. Use the stems and leaves both. You can add the stems first if you want to since they take a little longer to cook, but I like them crunchy, so added all at once. Stir and cook about 3-4 minutes or until the leaves get wilted and soft like cooked spinach. Top with a little balsalmic vinegar and sprinkle with Stevia or Splenda. Yummy. With a little cooked bacon or ham this would make a great all in one meal.

Bejewelme 05-07-2012 04:47 AM

Stilldews that sounds good, I love swiss chard I make lots of greens that way with a dash of red wine vinegar and bacon, yummy!!! I like broccoli rabe that way too!

iamfaithful 05-07-2012 05:52 AM

Have yet to find swiss chard in my stores unless I drive to indiana & shop Schnucks! Maybe I will plant some seeds...+ill look when I go o town on Wed!

Have a laptop hooked up & 30meg download here at home (whatever that is - just keep hearing Jon talk about how terrific it is) but I am still using my phone! Hmmmmm..... Old dogs & new tricks???

I just realized un June 2011 I went down to 171 & have been at or below that since. that is close to a year! Maybe I have this fat think licked! :kicking: Must be time to kick my tushy in gear & push this body a little harder. It was May 15th last year when I started my journey to getting well & I am not quite "well" yet!

Hang in there Amber you have been 2 years on this last trip. Susan August makes a year since you jumped in- everyone else - we will travel your journey with you! keep up the good work!

Blondey63 05-07-2012 01:46 PM

Scale stayed the same today which is ok with me...my am blood sugar was 110 which was the best yet.... Feb 20th am blood sugar was 314.....I am very happy I have got my blood sugars to a very stable place. Keeping the faith!

iamfaithful 05-07-2012 02:36 PM

Helen, just having a good blood glucose reading is worth staying on plan. :goodpost:

Blondey63 05-07-2012 02:44 PM
