It's very possible you can get there in 13 days!
I had 1 pound to go yesterday to make 50 lost but this morning I was up a little. So one day this week I should see that little milestone. I wanted to lose 10lbs in May - I'm at 5 so I'm going to work to see those other 5 go!!! |

Iamfaithful - glad your family arrived safely! Going to be a fun few weeks with a house full ENJOY!
I weighed in at 178.6 this morning! That's down from last week but up .6 from Saturday. That's not bad at all since I did eat off plan on Saturday night -- but I did do that with reason and I was pretty pleased that I wasn't stuffed after my meal. Time to workout! I never weigh less after working out so my first morning weight is always what I log. Have a great Monday!!! |

IAM- my son was selling pizza for his fundraiser those french bread pizzas he said mom do you know how much sodium is in them? 1400 mg man 480 calories and 38 grams of fat, no wonder kids are fat! I said well we will stuff Autumn with them she needs to gain about 20 pounds, LOL Stuff is terrible, like those frozen dinners ughg the list of ingredients is mind numbing, I keep telling everyone about Jillian Michaels book, master your Metabolism, she goes through all the fake crap that has confused out bodies and makes it hard to lose weight, she herself was a diet coke and low carb bar addict, it is worth reading! That is why I am trying to stick to whole foods.

Sorry I've been gone so long! Sounds like you guys are doing just fine without me. Busy time what with getting Mom's house ready for sale, visiting her everyday at the nursing home and now she has been sick for almost 2 weeks. Going with her to the Doc this morning and hope to find out what's wrong.
My eating has been less than perfect, but my weight is staying between 145 and 148, so I'm OK with that. Tonight at work there was a container of chocolate covered nuts sitting out and I ate a couple before I decided they were stale and got rid of them. Here's the recipe for my chocolate treat. You can make many variations of it and measurements don't have to be exact. The coconut oil is not really legal but in this small of amt. doesn't seem to slow me doen. 1 square unsweetened baking chocolate. I use Ghiridelli. 1/2 square if using Baker's 1 TB coconut oil 2-3 TB Greek yogurt vanilla or peppermint extract to taste 2 pkg Splenda and 2 Pkg Stevia or any combination of sweeteners you like. Adjust to taste. The chocolate is very bitter so it takes a bit to make it sweet enough. Break the chocolate into smaller pieces and top with the coconut oil. Heat 1 min. in microwave to melt chocolate. If it's not completely melted, stir until it is. Stir in yogurt, sweetener and flavoring until well mixed. Set in freezer about 10 minutes or until it's firm. You can use fat free cream cheese or skim milk to replace the yogurt if you want. I have some raspberry flavored stevia that I mix with it sometimes and then add frozen raspberries now that I'm on consolidation. Lately I've also been leaving out the extracts and stirring in a TB of banana sugar free pudding, 2 TB water and some ground almonds or unsweetened coconut, making it more a stabilization recipe. This week I have been experimenting with the sugar free pudding and find I can get by with a little in my Greek Yogurt, but would not use it if you are still really working on the weight loss.

Stilldews - glad you made it back - sorry your mom is sick. I pray the doctors can get her on the mend real quick.
I tried your treat well real close to it one day last week. I had looked back in some months for it. I didn't have the baking chocolate I only had coco but it made a good chocolate treat. I'll pick up baking chocolate next week. The coconut oil didn't hinder my weight loss at all I alo made muffins from Amber's recipe & they were great. I was worried I'd eat too many if I made them too often though. All time low this morning ~~~ 177.4 Only .4 to the 50! |

I am in a mood this morning! Yes I saw a drop in weight today & I've completed my elliptical workout so I'm pumped up! I am excited about the overall change in my health in 5 months. I am sure I can beat this weight thing now thanks to Dukan. My cousin who is 6 weeks younger than me starts chemo today for stage 4 colon cancer. This was the bad news I got a couple weeks ago. I am praying for her strength & healing. It also makes me think if she is fighting through that I can at least fight through my two a day workouts & eating what's allowed & not those junky bad things. I mean really it's not to hard when put in perspective.
Have a blessed Tuesday. |

Sorry to hear about your cousin Paranoid. Cancer treatments have really come a long ways in the last few years and hopefully the chemo will beat it.
Mom seemed better today and the only thing the doctor could find was that her blood pressure was too low at 88/44, so he stopped her blood pressure pills. He thinks she is just taking a long time to get over the bad cold that she had but that at almost 90 that is normal. I have used 100% cocoa powder in the chocolate treat too and it works fine. I just look at the TB of coconut oil as a tolerated item and make sure to limit it to just one a day at the most. Even half the recipe is enough some days to satisfy my sweet tooth. The good thing about a little extra fat is that it won't make you retain water like sugar or too much carbs would. |

Susan, so glad to see you again. Parents & friends growing older isnt any fun. And then there is all that "legal" stuff that has to be taken care of... I hope your mom is with you for many more moons! Gramma stayed long beyond her years. I have to look at it that she has moved to dance with Red & I just cant visit her right now because she is so far away. I know you are enjoying your mom while she is still here.
Thanks for the post of your chocolatey treat. I have some of the tiny muffin tins that I got from a box brownie mix. They are a tough plastic, so I make a bunch of the treats and keep them in the freezer... let em thaw for 5 minutes and ..... well I usually cant stop with one.....

Maybe tomorrow ~ always hopeful. Saw doctor today to get X-ray of toe. It was cracked but there's nothing to do but tape it up. Not sure why I even went I knew that's what he'd say. |

You'll make that 50 soon! Sorry about the toe. Those can be so painful, but not much you can do. Hope you have some comfy shoes.
Tonight there was a free ice social at work and I resisted. Got a nice salad instead and topped it with salmon. Forgot to bring a snack so I ate a TB little container of peanut butter. Wt last night was 146.2. |

Paranoid, no sweat! Just keep doing what you are doing!
Blondey, I think every one has difficulity going for the first few months! The Magnesium helps (Maybe up to 3000 units all at once) & getting plenty of fiber from your oat brand or psyllium & plenty of H2O! Without the water the fiber will bind you more! Susan, so glad to see you back posting! I missed you! You are still doing so well! I wonder when I will see the 40"s again. Sometime in my life here for sure! Still using the green stuff you sent! Goes well in a kefir/protein drink. Amber, still using what you sent too.... just not the green stuff! I should have sent it to my sis when I mailed her makings for Kombucha yesterday...her SCOBYs got mold on them over the winter....really cold in her little travel trailer home up in Iowa. 167.2 Today... started walking first thing in the morning while it is still cool 2+ miles up and down the hilly roads here in Spottsville. Then I have been pulling large branches out of the pond that have finally come close enough to snag them. Ewwwww! They were slimy and smelly but my little 7 year old boy, Larry, pulled & tugged on them to help get them out! He was a dirty slimy mess when we got done! Of course him rolling around on these huge limbs (5+" in diameter and up to 15' long) didnt help keep him clean. This is the first time in his life he had to have 3 showers in one day. I guess gramma's yard is wonderful for him! I had a friend years ago when I was a stickler for neatness in my kids when they were little that told me, "If you can't get dirty, it ain't no fun!" Glad I learned that years ago! Last edited by iamfaithful; 05-24-2012 at 05:52 AM.. |
