Happy Morning!!
179.6 ....barely into those 170's but super excited

Some terrible news in the past week for a close family member and as horrible as it is I didn't let that make me (allow me) to eat bad food. In the past it never took much (happy or sad news) to make me jump off the back of the wagon. LOL. This time I'm holding to the front I refuse to fail -give up - or let all this hard work go away!

stayed the same today...am hoping for a loss tomorrow but it is what it is. What is awesome about this new woe is that the scale is staying so stable...not up and down too much lately so I am happy with that.

Blondey, your blood sugar readings are fantastic! I wish all diabetics would try the low carb way of eating. I think I'll buy a HgA!C kit and check my number again. I'm prediabetic and like to keep an eye on it.

Paranoid, so sorry to hear you got some bad news. Eating healthy by sticking to the plan is the best thing you can do for yourself and your family. It's so easy to let something like that start you on a downward spiral, so really proud of you.

Here's a new crockpot recipe I'm goping to try. Could be served over the zero cal noodles or rice if you're on consolidation.

Cuban Braised Beef with Lime-Avocado Salad

28 oz can ciced tomatoes, drained
2 red bell peppers, sliced 1/2" think
1 onion, but into 8 wedges
2 tsp dried oregano
1Tsp cumin
salt and pepper
1 1/2 pound flank steak, sliced thickly
1 cup rice, optional
2 avocados, sliced
1-2 limes
1/4 cup fresh cilantro leaves

In a large slow cooker, combine tomatoes, bell peppers, onion, oregano. cumin, 1.5 tsp salt, and 1/4 tsp pepper. Cook until the meat is tender and pulls apart easily. On high 4-5 hours or low 7-8 hours. 25 minutes before serving, cook rice according to directions or drain and heat zero cal noodle. Cut avocadoes into slices and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Drizzle with juice of limes. Mix well and set aside. Useing 2 forks, shred the beef and mix with the liquid in the crock pot. Serve over rice or noodles if desired. Top avocado with cilantro right before serving as a sidedish. Serves 4.

I love a roasted chicken too!!! Here it is so much cheaper to buy a rotisserie chicken at Costco then a whole chicken! It is crazy how cheap those $5 chickens are!!!
Stilldews that beef sounds good!!!! Let us know how it turns out!!! I used to hate cilantro and freak out over it but now I started to like it in small doses it does make everything take fresh with it!

Thanks again for the encouragement! I am up .6 today & was up .2 more than that Wednesday. So only Tuesday was a 170 something day this week (so far!). I had more salt the last two days so I know why I'm up. No worries.

Thank for the new link bejewelme!!

Cant buy the rotisserie chicken as it has too much salt. WM said they get them in frozen already seasoned. I asked them about getting some unseasoned as the drippings from the other chickens would flavor them enough. Still no use. Sureway here locally said the same thing. UGH!

Sorry Faithful. I sometimes make mine in the crockpot because it does not matter if the skin is not crispy, I don't eat it anyways.

Paranoid....I'm sure you will see the scale go down soon...at least you know why. Me too... I was up .5 today and I imagine the scale will stay the same tomorrow if not go up. On an up note(lol), I was able to put on a new pair of pants that i bought last year that just did not fit....size 14-stretch... was an 18 in February...so i know I have gone down at least a size. Just trying to stay the course. I got the new Dukan chocolate oat bran bars in the mail today. They were ok. Not sweet. Made with good ingredients. Really, very small-just the 2 T of oatbran in them and some other stuff. Box said they were 17 grams of carbs. Not sure how I feel about all those carbs. I think that they would be good in a pinch.

Blondey- I'm hoping to be down tomorrow I did the crazy thing of getting on the scale just now to see how much I was up from morning (I don't do that often) but I usually drop 2-3 by morning so I'm only up 1 hee hee so. Should be good in the am. YES I'm nuts about this weighing math lol

I have got to make those muffins one day. I love the one oatbran cookie recipe cause it's quick & easy. I make that when I'm not eating yogurt for breakfast.

Here's a question for ya! Why couldn't I use an Atkins shake once in awhile if I don't feel like eating Breakfast or maybe Lunch? Logically if everything else is on plan why wouldn't it work???

Or not.

Suze, I say give it a try and see if it works for you.

Ladies make the muffins and save your $$ for a reward. Maybe Amber will post her recipe for other muffins she puts goji berries in. I made them but could not just eat one. And you can always take the basic recipe she posted, add spice, and make it to what you want. You can always eat your mistakes or not as it is so inexpensive to experiment with new things. Much better than buying something that is just OK.

Susan, can you repost your yummy recipe for your chocolate treat you make? I just eyeball what I want to put in my VCO/cocoa powder "fudge" and it NEVER comes out the same way twice.

Blondey you are doing just great. It is so true that salt and regular fluctuations drive us nuts. As far as constipation goes, try mixing some of the Metamucil clear into a glass of water, or in anything else actually. The fiber does the trick.

I am hard on this now and will weigh later on. Fingers crossed!

I thought I posted yesterday but I guess I got sidetracked. Friday morning I was 179.0. Today it's 179.8 still under 180 & it would be great to still be under 180 on Sunday too. Saturday's are tough cause I tend to eat more even though it's the right food I just eat more than I do on weekdays. Gonna try not to today.

Glad that scale is moving Blondey!!

Happy Mother's Day to all you moms too!

Me.... just an old gramma now

I would rather have a Gramma Day it would be more fun then the kids could just spend time with their mom & son could spend the day with wifey.

Maybe something new for next year... I know there is a grandparents day... but i want a gramma day! :hugs"
