Ok I have been away for a while but really still have been pushing the weight watchers. I lose so slow that it is killing me but at least it is still losing.

I'll try to start posting menus again tomorrow but I am here and thinking of everyone.

13 weeks on WW and 17 pounds gone.

Welcome back Tania!

Those are great results so far!!

As I thought last week, my TOM and adding back carbs caught up with me and I'm up 1.4 from today's weigh in. It sucks, but I'm not suprised. I also added weight lifting back in earlier this week and I'm still sore, so I think it's pretty much all water weight. I also ended up using all available points and I don't think I can actually do that and lose very much anyway.

Moving on!

Kim - If I eat the extra points I do not lose. I am only 5 foot tall and with the insulin resistance those extra points are a no no. What kind of lifting are you doing I would like to start but have never done that. I do a lot of cardio but think weights are my next step.

I'm still trying to figure out how many I can or can't use. I think I'm OK with all my WP but really need to not eat the AP - I usually earn around 30 using a HRM.

I like Tom Venuto's BFFM (Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle) program. It's a good, basic starting point for me with options. It has A and B days that you alternate so one day is chest, shoulders, etc and the other is legs, back, etc.

Weight lifting is so important for weight loss. I'm a running junkie but I know it really isn't necessary.

Doing ok here..hoping for a nice new low on Friday

Just popped in to say Hi.

I'm still on track but not really counting points anymore. I'm down 22 lbs. since the last of January. I would still like to lose more but I'm not in a hurry to do it.

I do feel as if counting WW points has helped me get a handle on portion sizes and calories. I tend to eat the same repeat sort of meals so I am still "loosely" getting the same points every day.

I'm only getting to about 1 meeting a month at work, so I probably will not sign up again this month. I would continue if we had a highly motivated group but we don't so much this time.

Good morning, all! I am not counting points, but I am logging my food intake every day. I am keeping an eye on calories, carbs, protein, and fat -- also working on lowering sodium. I do still think WW is a great program as one of my friends here is doing it and has had great success. I think the portion control is probably one of the best things it teaches.

Reporting a 1 pound loss for the week and I hit my 5% milestone! finally found the points/foods that are working for me. Just going to keep it up and hope for more losses. I have a goal of 119 by the 20th if may. That's a little over a pound a week. I can do it!

Congrats DisneyPrincess!!! That's awesome!

I'm going to make a big effort to keep the carbs under better control this week - the 1.2# increase (while expected) has really messed with my head. My plan is under 50 (total - not net) a day.

Well I am sticking to plan but my ally here at work and at Weight Watchers had to have emergancy brain surgery yesterday and I am just sick about it. Please say prayers for her and her family. I still need her so I know they are just at a loss over this.

Eating has been great can't wait to see where I stand tomorrow for my weigh in. It will be different without my friend with me.

This is all that work is telling us. It sounds like to me maybe an aneurysm but don't know for sure. Just scary I will hate to explain tomorrow to my 6 year old grandaughter why she is not at our meeting in the front row with us. We have to sit in the front row cause that is where you learn the most you know.

Hi everyone (Hope it's ok I jumped in here!)

Its been a long time since I've been here. I had a major back surgery in Dec I completely fell off the wagon but am determined to stick to it this time! I'm not sure what my issues are but it seems I do great (points wise) throughout my day but by the time I get home from work I eat and eat and eat, which I know is so bad but it seems I can't control it.

I'm hoping that by posting here I'll become accountable and be able to give (and get) support

Well after 3 days with higher carbs and using some flex points my weight is up. Going to drop back to lc and hope to still lose this week. I simply feel better lower carb...why can't I stick to it?!?

Oh boy - I'm with you. I thought I did ok last week but I ate my weekly points but no activity points. I made some bad point choices - more carbs and salty foods. I was up 2 lbs. '2' - ugh. I had a lot of exercise but that doesn't make up for the bad food choices. So...this week - RESTART and watching it more closely. No more excuses.

Well, kept it low carb the last few days and all the bloat is gone and I actually saw 156 yesterday morning. I'm hoping I'll see that on Wednesday for my weigh in day as well.

Someone mentioned how much better they feel on low carb -- I really wish I could say the same. I don't feel better or worse -- just my usual normal. That makes it harder for me to stay strict, plus I've always been able to lose on WW - I lost 80 lbs a couple of years ago before gaining 35 back when my thyroid stopped cooperating with me. Most of it (25) is gone now by switching back and forth from LC to WW.

I'm wondering something and would love your input -- I read someone's post last week about people's cells filling with water in weeks 3 and 4 because our fat cells aren't ready to let go of their size. I'm wondering if by doing LC for 2 weeks or so at a time that forces my cells to let go of the water so I see bigger losses and/or a little faster through the combo. Then when I've switched to a more moderate carb WW, I stay the same or gain slightly the first week (water) and loss a little each week after while on that plan (maybe 1lb) until I go back to strict LC and get the big loss. I hope this makes sense.

Thoughts?

What is your idea of strict LC? How many carbs a day?

Typically induction levels, however I might have some nuts in there so not 100% induction foods.

Kim- I sort of do the same thing but not that LC. I stay at 70 per day but some days I'm probably lower. I had never heard the term woosh until I came to this site. I have had this happen while doing WW. I'll all of a I'll go down a few lbs. and it sticks. It's just my bodies way of losing it guess. I have had this happen the day after eating something like cookies.
