On a side note, I was recently recovering from surgery and had very little appetite. I was able to STOP eating when I was satisfied. Wow, what a concept. I would like to be able to eat all foods in the proper portion sizes. I try not to eat a lot of processed food and junk anyway, no matter what plan I follow, so portion control is the problem for me. |

I have done both in the past, but eventually on LC I am going to cave and eat things I shouldn't. On WW, there's no problem with that, just be sensible with how much you eat.
I have my first weigh in on Friday. Haven't done perfect, but I've been good, so hope to lose a few! I'm getting back into salads. There's an Ingles bout 1/2 mile up the road from me, and they have an awesome salad bar. And a fruit bar, even has blackberries on it! |

Ok, so I have a question since we are on this LC or WW subject......
As I have mentioned I am a true compulsive overeater/food addict. I notice I do well on no/low carb and no sugar however I get cravings and urges for some foods (potatoes, apples (fruit) ) but once have them completely crash. It is like my body cannot handle it. For me I do have some foods that I am allergic to that will do that to me, but do you believe that it's the not having it and then having it that is causing the crash.....or maybe the allergy? I hope someone understands what I am asking. I am trying to do as much research into my reactions to food before I decide that I want to pay for WW. I have yet to find a true food plan that will work for me and my lifestyle. Sometimes I feel like I am cooking 3 different meals at a time. For me, for my husband that will eat ANYTHING and my kids (one which has a texture issue and gags on food) Oi! Any input on this craziness?? BTW - I appreciate the answers and shares I have read on here. It helps me to understand that I am truely not alone in this. |

I don't know so much about the allergies that you have to foods, I would try to avoid those as much as possible.
I do know what you're saying with the cravings and urges for potatoes, apples and such. Although, just eating those doesn't send me off the slope to eating anything I want. But if you look at my stats, you see that I've been eating whatever I want for quite some time! That's a big reason why I'm doing WW and not just LC. I felt too limited in my choices and it was not a good long term fit for me. Are there Overeaters Anonymous(?) meetings near you? I know that I use food to stuff my emotions, I could use help in that regard. |

Trvlpck, I know when I cut certain foods out of my diet , I lost the urge to binge for the most part. I haven't had any wheat, dairy or gluten in about a year and a half. Now if I could only keep sugar out , I'd probably never get triggered .thats too restrictive for me ATM though.
Try cutting out the things that trigger you and see how you do. |

I am beginning to wonder if I should just come up with a moderate number of carbs to eat daily, rather than call it a specific plan????? I know that I can do ww with the allowance of bread, fruit, rice, potatoes, etc via the simply filling technique, but for some reason, my mind keeps saying get off the carbs!!! Why can't I just figure out what the best plan for me is?? I do think that I feel less bloated when eating low carb. Unfortunately, because I am only 4'11", I don't really get the benefits of low carb in that I can just eat low carb and not have to pay attention to calories. (hope that makes sense) So...if I have to watch calories and carbs, I might as well do ww and get to eat more variety??? Sorry, I am so rambling...this is how my mind goes continually. So, I get to where I am ok with ww, then I ready Gary Taubes "Why We Get Fat", and here I go again...... I need to choose a plan, then take a pill to turn my mind off. [[/QUOTE]hey - how come reply to a message doesn't work the same anymore? strange. I do eat fruit - daily. I rarely eat bread or rice (but on occasion I do). I try to find lower calorie/carb dressings (but not non-fat - yuck). So, I haven't counted carbs in a while to stay low but I think I am going to start for a week or so (to see the results and try to get rid of this holiday pounds). |

Hi, everyone! I'm a new Weight Watchers member after the past few years of failing at trying low carb. I've been on PP for a week and I go weigh in today

Just wanted to share I got 5 days of activity in for the second week in a row!
This thrills me to death because I've has so many health and injury challenges that I haven't been able to work out that much since August. Here's hoping I show a loss on Friday when I have WI. I'd be surprised since last week I lost really big (post holiday water weight) and TOM will be here any moment, but I can hope!! ![]() Hope you are all having a great OP day |

Thanks so much! My first week has yielded a 6.6 lb loss!
![]() I was so worried. I have struggled with trying to stay on a low carb plan, but the foods I'm not fond of are allowed and the foods I love are not. At least with Weight Watchers I can have more variety. I'm sure my weight loss will slow down a lot, but if slow and steady wins the race then slow and steady it will be. In addition, I love my leader! She's sweet and funny and very supportive. I haven't eaten this many veggies and fruits in years. I forgot how delicious they are. I would skip the veggies and fruits that were allowed on a low carb diet so that I could instead eat a few unhealthy treats. Also I have just started walking on my treadmill after years of neglecting it. I just did my 3rd day of a 15 minute walk. I'm very sedentary, so that's kind of monumental for me ![]() Hope everyone is doing well! ![]()

Question for ya'll,
When I scan canned tomatoes, it says 1 pp per 1/2 cup. When I put in in my tracker, it says no points, even for a 15 oz can. Anyone know what it really is??? |

I'm doing an older version of WW, like 2009, think it was WW Turnaround with points.
Aren't fruits and vegetables point free now? Congratulations on the weight loss Carol Ann! That's so awesome! I weigh tomorrow. And Violet on the exercise! I really need to start working out. Just took a spill down the stairs to our garage last night, that's all my exercise for a few days! |

quitecontrary- Congrats!!!! That's an awesome loss!
rotay60- Thank You NoMoreExcuses- I'm sure everyone's response will vary. For me if a product is only a vegetable w/ no added oil I would count as zero. I've never had a problem w/ overeating veggies. I do limit my fruits though and try to limit 3 servings a day, otherwise count them. HTH shellyshebby- I hope you feel better soon from your injury! I believe 2009 was the WW Momentum program. I actually reached goal on that program (didn't maintain though ). Fruits and veggies are free on the current Points Plus program but points are also higher/more expensive to incorporate for that. wishbone- Good luck with WI TOM is in the house *ugh* Have a great OP day everyone!!!!!!!! |

Congrats Shelby! Awesome loss!!!!
![]() My WI this morning was +1lb. No biggie though. It's only water and if I keep doing what I'm doing it'll be gone next week when TOM is over. They key for me is to stay on track. I usually over eat during this week for energy because I have a blood disease and TOM really wrecks me physically. I don't have much going on this week though, so maybe I won't have to. Hopefully I'll be able get some AP's in depending on how I feel. I'm projecting Have a great OP day everyone! ![]() |
