I have a Weight Watchers question.....do y'all recommend the online program or is it best to go to the meetings? I am a life time member from decades ago and I'm thinking about giving it another try. Online would be more convenient but I'm worried there wouldn't be enough support and accountability for me! Thanks!

meetings! I need the meetings. wish I had gone last week or this week - I have been bad - yikes! If I had my meetings I would have been better! It's just me. I need to get back on track - no more excuses due to the holidays and all the parties. I'm still out of town until next Monday but then I'm 100% recommitted.

I want to start with y'all, probably on January2nd or 3rd. I'm going to be doing the points, from 2008-2009, still have all my materials.
Going to give myself 4-6 weeks, and if I can't handle it on my own without meetings, I'll join and do meetings.
I'm so ready! Was bouncing back and forth between doing ww or low carb, but I think I'll try to be moderately low carb on the ww plan.
What I want is for next year at this time to be able to look back and see that I didn't blow it majorly for holidays, or at about 4 months into starting, which is my usual mo.
Good luck everyone!

oh I have to go to meetings.. I need the people there.. and the accountability of the weekly weigh in. I waste to much time trying to diddle daddle around with it at home. I love my monthly pass.. makes it real easy.. and I do love my online e-tools.
but... I have been off TRACK, since xmas puppies have arrived.. and I am tired.. and sleep deprived and DH was taking care off us! My DIL brought us home made tamales her mom made.. so how do you turn down in-laws.. and they are such nice people and family.. and it was good.. DH just had to heat them up!
and I missed my WW meeting tonight.. just had nobody to watch the puppies! I think I can get DH to watch next week and I can go for the next meeting.

and I have been soooo hungry.. I think its all the food that is NOT on plan and program, that is causing me to feel hunger...
Today was the first day I made an effort to track my points again.. WOW!!! no wonder the scale was up 2lbs this week! sooo back to it and being accountable.. Had DH eat the last xmas left overs and cake..LOL

so yes.. meetings for me....

Wow, Monika, you've done awesome with your weight loss! Did you lose the weight all in 2012?
I agree with you on the monthly pass, if I start going to meetings that's the way I go. Cause I never seem to have cash on hand! But if it's just another bill, it gets done.
Congrats on your new puppies!

Good Morning Everyone! This is my first time posting here. As far as meetings vs online, I am sure meetings are very helpful and more beneficial but with my hectic schedule with work and home, I have had to do WW online and have been successfully for the past 3 1/2 years. I am able to get some great advice and recipes throught the groups I particiapate with and tracking is very useful. I lost 25 lbs and been maintaining.

I do WW SFT (Simply Filling Technique) which I love. I lost most of my weight doing SFT. You do not need to track however I choose to do.

Online works great for me - I don't really enjoy the meetings much since I follow points plus with low carb/ high fat food choices, no starches and few fruits. I love the online tools though, which work great for tracking food and weight. Instead of meetings I get inspiration from sites like this one.

I did not make it my meeting last thursday....little thing like a blizzard kept me away...

I have a feeling that I had gained though over Christmas, kinda went off the deep end and failed to track also.

But now, I am back on track as of Friday morning and exercising every day. I hope when I weigh in this coming thursday that the scale will show a "maintain".

Today I am taking down the Christmas tree.

Have a great day everyone !!!!

MarieD and lharris.....I had made up my mind to go to the meetings but found out that there isn't one within 25 miles of me now. I'm glad to hear that you've had success with the online program because I think that's what I'm going to have to do. I know the meetings would probably have been better for me but it looks like it's not a possibility now.

Good Morning! Leisha, you will do fine on line and dont hesitate to ask questions whether on this site or WW site. I learned so much from others online. Two things that really helped with my weight loss was drinking 64 oz of water daily and daily exercise along with the ww program and your set.

Happy New Years Everyone!

Happy New Year! 2013! Hope everyone had a great new year's eve, and that this year brings you peace and joy and success.
I'm looking at starting tomorrow on plan, might be day after that. My dd's are both on break until next monday from school, that makes it hard to really get myself together.
Excuses, excuses!
I really am excited to get back at it. I love to feel that sense of control over my eating and excersizing, it helps me so much.

Happy New Year! I've been gone for a few weeks with the holidays and travel for hockey tournaments. Then, New Years eve celebrating. I've been bad - really bad. I did ok until Christmas day and then everything went downhill. I tried to get back on track but I went out of control. I have no idea why. It was horrible. I don't recall feeling this way in over a year. I feel miserable so today I got on the scale - I'm up 4 lbs since last weigh-in. This is why I NEED the weekly weigh-ins. I can't do it alone (which is why the 4 lbs since my last weigh-in). I am totally starting over tomorrow morning.......and I promise I won't let this happen again.

Glad to see all the new people. We'll motivate each other.

Glad that you are back Hockeymom- I was starting to wonder. I haven't done well since Christmas either. I am ready to get back on track, I am with you. We can all do this, let's go gang.

I have my salsa chicken in the crockpot for tomorrow night, and will add some brown rice and maybe some black beans.
What do you guys have planned?

Happy New Year! And please add me to the "naughty" list. I have been on vacation since early December and I have been focused on fun. And weight gain. I am up 5 from the last time I weighed in. Uuuuuuuuuugh. I have not measured or tracked a mouthful in weeks. Time to stop that mess and get this back under control before I spiral. I am awesome at turning a 5 lb gain into a year-long 35 lb food fest. No more!!

Water, big salads, lean protein, workout. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Hello to all of you! My name is Sarah and I have a few questions. This is quite a sizable thread so I am hoping that some of you wouldn't mind repeating yourself if my questions are duplicates to prior posts.

A bit about me....I am a food addict (in a 12 step program) and to be able to stay "clean" I cannot do sugar or most flour and high carb foods (rice, potatoes, etc) I need a new perspective on the food I can eat because it is starting to get too repetitive and boring and was thinking about WW as a way to maybe get new ideas and still be able to have some sort of guidelines on my servings as my portions get to be bigger because I don't feel as "satisfied" with my boring food.

So, my questions to all of you are....is it possible to do WW (online) in a low carb fashion and stay low carb and sugar free?? Is there anyone else on this thread that is a true food addict (possibly also in a 12 step program) that would be willing to share with me your experience? If so and would like to stay anonymous please feel free to email me directly at trvlpk@yahoo.com (NO SPAM PLEASE) Any other info or experiences with LC on WW would be great. Thank you in advance!

well....
I knew the weigh in would be bad.....but, I guess it could have been worse.
I missed last week because of the blizzard and I kinda went "nuts" with the goodies.
Last night I gained 3.6.
THERE. I SAID IT. and I know that i even lost this week so to speak....can't imagine what the scale would have said last week.

This week I committed to TRACKING EVERY SINGLE MORSEL

I have been back to WW since the 1rst and down 2.2 lbs as of today. Trying to keep it fairly lower carb and eat regular food(no lowfat/nonfat). I finally realized that I cannot stick to Atkins because of the restrictions. Yes fat and cheese tastes really good but if I want a piece of pizza I don't want to feel like I blew the entire week. The thing that worked for me on WW in the past was that I used my Daily points for meals but I had to earn activity points for treats(ice cream, a cookie) that way I either exercised or had no treat.

This week my goal was to try a new vegetable and I tried brussel sprouts. The first 3 or 4 were OK but then. I may try them again but fix them differently. I will start exercising on Saturday but I'm taking it really slow this time and just doing a 10 minute video and maybe a walk each day. The following week I will try 2 10 minute workouts. If I'm going to make this a lifestyle I need to ease my way into it.

I get 26 points a day so I'm thankful most fruits and veggies are 0 points.

Happy New Year to you all and welcome to the WW thread! I think we all are previous Atkins and Low Carb'ers and I think most of us do with less bread and starches because of that.
I try to watch my carbs and fats and sugars every day.. but yes.. I do love my fruits and veggies. Right now.. addicted to citrus.. orange and grapefruits. but I got to be careful with them, because they are high in sugars.

I roast my Brussels sprouts... Roasted Brussels Sprouts Recipe - Allrecipes.com
sometimes I ad a little balsamic vinegar. sometimes I sprinkle it with Parmesan. but I love them roasted.. I roast all my veggies.. love butternut squash roasted.. and asparagus.. etc..
I am going to my WW meeting on sat morning.. could not make it this thurs do to snow and iced over roads. Hope it will not be to crowed.
anyone bought the new kit? is it worth it?

Ok, I am getting all messed up again....low carb, low fat, calorie counting? I started back reading "why we get fat" - that is probably the problem. I do think that lower carb is probably the best, but WW is probably the easiest. I have half-heatedly tried to do the low carb/weight watcher combo, but find myself eating more processed carbs than I should
I have lost with WW in the past, but I was very, very disciplined, something that I am lacking these days. What's a girl to do???? Brain is in overload, again.

yup! been there, done that.. and it gets harder and harder.. All the stuff I tried before and I lost on, are NOT working for me this time..
and I think part of the reason that I am still not 100% on plan and with the program.
I am trying... baby steps..
every day I am trying to do something on plan.. every day.. right now I am focused on my vitamins, my water, and slowing down my eating.. and TRACKing. that is it.. if I can focus on these 4 little things every day.. I am happy! I try to look at every good, snack.. and think.. do I really really want this.. is it worth the pts, can I do without?
if I really really want it.. can I do with 1/2!?

Is it not horrible.. that FOOD is such a major part of our daily life. and we have to think so much about it.. just drives me crazy sometimes.

well today.. I went to costco.. and did a little shopping.. the weather was still horrible.. so the store was not to busy.. but.. there was not much on the shelves either..
A? for the weather reason? or B? inventury time?
the good news, I had my smart phone with the scanner.. and before anything went into my cart, I scanned it and or figured out the pts.. and well.. at the end... not much went into my cart. LOL
my WW meeting is tomorrow.. and it will be REALITY CHECK in time.. and time to face the music and the #!
Did anyone buy the new KIT? is it worth it?
